Just updated hoping the resume problem was finally resolved.  Unfortunately no, the audio and video lose synchronization more and more as you watch.

HEAAC: PID -1 (0xffffffff)
AAC: PID -1 (0xffffffff)
Audio: PID -1 (0xffffffff)
AC3: PID -1 (0xffffffff)
SOURCE: M:\NextPVR\The Late Show With Stephen Colbert\Season 10\The.Late.Show.With.Stephen.Colbert.S10E77.George.Clooney;.Alan.Ritchson.ts
STARTED: 20:36:13.816
MPEG2: PID 49 (0x31)
LAST_SEEK_REQUESTED: 919.000000 seconds
PCR: 1658443545634
STREAM_TIME: 24583
FILE_POSITION: 1306374024
FILE_LENGTH: 5824417472
m_tStart: 5432397815419
PES_MPEG2: PTS 5527162189 (sample time 23093.544444ms)
VIDEO_DIFF: -1483.455556ms
SEGMENT_START: 430.863767 seconds
PES_AC3: PTS 5527382830 (sample time 25545.111111ms)
AUDIO_DIFF: 1109.111111ms
AUDIO_DIFF_x: probably audio issues (-68.888889ms)

I'm noting any sign of A/V sync issues here. If you can supply a sample file, I'll check it with your file.

It'll probably come down to something related to the clock provided your audio renderer. Ultimately this is what directshow is using synchronizing audio and video.

Since the last sample was fine on your end, let's assume another one will be fine also.

The problem seemed to have gone away when you gave me those files a few months back, but returned with the update.

What can I do on my end to remedy the problem?   Please be very specific, I get lost in the jargon.

My media server is not rebooted often, would that have an impact?   Just rebooted to do some more testing.  I am going to setup a 3am reboot daily to see.

Is your problem with closed captioning enabled or disabled?

I'd still appreciate a file. There is some stuff I can check here.

Both.  And it SEEMS like the more I fast forward and rewind, the quicker the problem begins when I hit Play, and builds up faster, i.e. gets further and further away from being synchronized.

FYI, this can be normal. They'll often send the audio ahead of the video.

You'd need to start playing, take a note of what the AUDIO_DIFF is, then leave it playing, and keep a note of whether that number is increasing/decreasing over time.

So I need to watch the stats in that window while a program is playing?   Hmmm...  NextPVR occupies full screen...

You can probably just start playback, and alt-tab to bring the stats window into the foreground over nextpvr. Maybe shuffle it over to one side, so you can see talking heads in the middle of the screen.

Is it mainly when you're skipping you notice it? or does it also do it if you leave it playing?
