I visited my computer shop this week and I was told, during a conversation about costs of upgrading, that W11 may not support my hauppauge devices. And that they're not manufactured any more, as 'everyone' is streaming. What are folks doing about this? I don't stream, satellite is too expensive for that (don't suggest I support Musk), so I want to continue recording free to air TV.

There's a lot of Win 11 users here. The guy might be confused with WMC not working but you can check the Hauppauge forum.
Legal streaming and pirate IPTV are probably the future though, potentially killing the digital TV h/w market. Think albums, FM radio (dying in Europe) especially as remote areas get high speed Intenet (and we hope more Starlink competitors). I've seen more mjh users than DVB-S in the last few years. I think the next generation will continue to uses apps not STBs. You can get some good deals used equipment on eBay, Kijiji and FB Market though so I personally am not worried for now. Martin

Hauppage devices are still manufactured and support windows 11. I know because I just bought one and shopped them.
I replaced a hauppage device from 10 years ago that was no longer supported. The new one works the same. Your device may be unsupported if it’s super old but they make new versions to this day so they are not disappearing.

Gosh, maybe I should be looking for a new computer guy? Thanks for all your answers. Maybe they don't bring them into Australia anymore? Can't imagine why he would not want to make a sale. Mmmmm

Hauppauge still makes Win11-compatible devices—I’d double-check their official site or forums to confirm support for your specific model. If local shops aren’t stocking them, ordering online (eBay, Amazon, or even Hauppauge’s site) could be a workaround. Also, if you’re comfortable with used gear, marketplaces often have good deals.
