Hi guys - I have been using Xstream (https://xtream-editor.com/en) as my EPG source with NextPVR for a few years without issue.  Recently they have requested users move to their new playlist (v3 Standard in my case) which I have done successfully.  However, using the new EPG URL they provide results in the following error in NextPVR when attempting a download via XMLTV.

Error loading listings from: https://someepg/someid The remote server returned an error: (406) Not Acceptable.]

(I have used a dummy URL for security reasons)

If I navigate to the EPG URL in a browser I can download the guide.xml.gz file successfully.

I have raised a support ticket with them as I'm not sure if this is their side or NextPVR.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Without logs support is pretty much impossible. You need to PM sub the author of NextPVR the actual URL and possibly a link to your logs and he can check if there is some web challenge/response protocol that needs to be looked at.

Until then consider a UpdateEPG.sh file that uses curl to download and decompress your file and add a new XMLTV source.

Thanks mvallevand - I have PM'd sub with my EPG URL. Like you said, if all else fails I can whip something up in bash to curl and decompress. Be interesting to see what exactly they changed since my account was migrated to their new model with respect to the URL.

Thanks I've had a few testing your url to determine which headers were important, before I received:

Code:
<html><head><title>Too Many Requests</title></head>
                                   <body>
                                      <h1>Too Many Requests</h1>
                                      <p>You can download the EPG data 20 times / day. According to our terms an
d conditions, <b>the distribution of EPG data is not permitted</b>. If it is a mistake, create a support ticket.
We will look for the cause and help you as soon as possible.</p>
                                   </body>
                                </html>
Sorry!
