Is there a way to not record episodes that are shorter than a specified duration?  Some of the shows I record have a 'behind the scenses' kinda episode that is typically 3-5 minutes long that I have no desire to record.  Not the end of the world to just monitor and cancel these, but it would be nice to just filter them out altogether.

It would depend on the rule you use and the guide data itself. If you record using the web search you can set an exact match. You could create a more complicated rule for duration but see if the wild card is the problem.

I have 2 different ways of doing my rules, but can change if it is better. Currently I either do it in Kodi with a keyword seatch (title is 'blah blah blah') and set it to new episodes only, or I search from the web interface and shoose advanced (Record Series (New Episodes).

In either of those, I don't see a way to limit it by time. Perhaps in the Kodi way I could add something to the keyword search (title is 'blah blah blah' AND duration > '300' - or something like that). Not sure.

Yes anything with keywords default too a wild card. For must series with good guide data a true episode based recording is a better option.

There is no duration field but maybe (end_time - start_time > 300) will do what you want.

I have tried a variety of ways to get this done (including (end_time - start_time > 300)), and none seem to work for time. I have a work around by using the description (title is 'The Rainmaker' AND description not like 'A look inside episode%'), but this isn't ideal to duplicate across series, but at least is working for now.

If anyone has an idea to limit based on time that works, please let me know.
