Hey there guys, I'm having a problem and would just like to get some clarity please.

In my area, there are only 4x OTA channels available. I own 2x HDhomerun Extend, and configured NPVR so every tuner sports one channel each using their IPs and tuner number, which worked perfectly through multiple clients concurrently watching the same channel over the same dedicated tuner. The PC running NPVR was a Razer Blade Stealth 13" (i7-8550U CPU @ 1.80GHz with Intel® UHD Graphics 620 /16GB RAM).

Now I had to move my NPVR server over to a Lenovo M81 (i5-2400 CPU @ 3.10GHz/RAM 8.00 GB/NVIDIA GeForce 605 (969 MB)) and I can't seem to be able to watch the same channel over two clients as I get the error "The tuner is no longer available" - in short, I'm no longer able to use tuner sharing/concurrent tuner access across multiple clients.

Anybody could pinpoint why is that, and say if I had a Nvidia GeForce T600 4GB, will I gain access to tuner sharing back?

No logs no problems. Send the zipped logs from the main web settings page.

There is typically no value in only assigning one channel to a tuner though. NextPVR can manage things if you have all channels on all devices. The exception would be different antenna positions but it still would b 2x2.

I have no idea why you are doing this but you have your HDHR setup as IPTV

c:\m3u8\hdhr_http.m3u8

So it will be very hard to get all four tuners with one IPTV URL unless you can a proiy.

Why not add scan and the add the channels to the devices?

The principal reason is that I would like to ensure each tuner is always tuned to a specific channel. This also was a method for me to verify tuner sharing is working or not.

I will soon have more than 4 clients who will connect at the same time (that's part of the reason I switched PC). If I have 3 clients connected, client1 watching channel1, client2 and client3 watching channel 2 (and it uses two HDHR tuners since tuner sharing is not working) I can then only have one more client. With tuner sharing I can have any number of client watching any of the four channel available.

If you have any other idea I am open to try other solutions, this one seemed the more logical and easy to manage for my situation.

I'd use the HDHR device rather than trying to make it go through IPTV. (even if you're wanting to limit it to a single channel per tuner)

This is the way everybody else uses HDHomeRun devices, and it's a much better tested scenario.

Before I continue what do you mean by clients? NextPVR (including v4) is licensed for personal non commercial use only.

Okay thanks a lot I will gladly consider switching to HDHR device instead of IPTV playlist. In fact I tried it before resorting to IPTV and couldn't get tuner sharing.

So my problem still stands: no tuner sharing possible atm

Try it again using the new release, posted about 15 minutes ago, and using the HDHR device type. If you've still got the issue, we'll take a closer look.

First I'm talking network-wise (server vs clients). Second, this is for our family chalet with 8 bedrooms each one with a tv. Third, I have a fairly recent (last month) registered donation to NPVR.

I understand why you're asking
