Moved my Hauppauge quadHD card to a newly built box and installed NextPVR. Web interface only produces 500 errors. Purged and reinstalled, same result. System info and log attached, please help.

Logs need to be zipped (download from web settings) and under 2MB

Could not download from web settings as web site did not function, would only throw 500 errors. However, after shutting down and restarting the server, it is now magically functioning. Problem now is that no devices can find channels on scan. Any suggestion on how I can check to make sure I have signal from the coax?

First choice in general is to use the manufactures software first (in this case Win TV). WinTV does install a signal strength monitor.

Unfortunately, Hauppauge's signal strength monitor app is not supported on Linux.

Right sorry about that, there are ways using dvbtools but I will let you research that.
That's not the problem though. It looks like you used an unconventional install and didn't (or couldn't) use the deb installer. However you installed it you did it you didn't chmod +x /DeviceHostLinux as explained on the manual install https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid523886 Certainly running any service as root is wrong, you have been warned. Doh! I can just connect to the TV tuner and see if IT finds channels. Never mind.

I did use the .deb installer, as I'm on Ubuntu 24.04 (Mint). I'm not sure what went wrong. I did use sudo to start the server when it wasn't working, but agree that would be reckless to continue. What do you recommend? Another purge/reinstall, and careful inspection of the output messages?

Whatever you did wasn't the correct way to start NextPVR
Here is what I would do - stop your server - download the deb installer to /tmp - not running as root run cd /tmp sudo dpkg -i nextpvr-server.deb Then startup and send the logs if it doesn't work. Martin |
