You know of my issues with synchronization.  I've been using Yauiclient, which has a lot of lagging, even while using the skip function instead of the arrow.  Crashes the backend, have to reboot (unless there is a command to restart the backend?)  Subtitles in Yauiclient are problematic after commercials, freezing the commercial ending subtitle, requiring turning off and then back on the subtitles to clear it.

Anyway, this post is about failed recordings.  I go to start watching a show, like the news, and after a few seconds the recording ends, even though NPVR says it is still recording.  I then cancel the recording, and then immediately hit Quick Record, and it works fine, every time.  I also have failed recordings, No errors but no data delivered, says due to failure to lock a signal.  But, again every time I manually watch through Yauiclient live, every single time it's clear and no issue.  And, no issues watching live via the TV either.

I have attached the logs from a few days ago where I had the news experience, hitting cancel, then quick record and watching, without issue.  Hoping that some pending update is going to resolve these issues.

On the reception side, we put in the new antenna and removed the signal booster, at Martin's suggestion.  No change.  Then I added a 5g filter out of desperation, no change.

What is the name / time of an example recording like this? I'll check the logging around that recording.

I assume you don't have any other software using the HDHomeRun device? This can interfere with the tuner when NextPVR is trying to use it.

Looks like your machine had went to sleep soon after the recording started:
Code:

2026-01-28 18:26:51.142    [DEBUG][124]    OnResume...
You can see the OnResume notification from it waking up.

My settings are to go to sleep after 15 minutes. NPVR is waking the machine for the recording, so it shouldn't be going to sleep. This rang a bell, I remembered a discussion 6 years ago - https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...light=wake

I thought that issue was remedied many releases ago. When I got this new machine, I didn't do anything but install NPVR.

NPVR is waking to record shows all the time without issue, this one makes little sense to me, as well as the ones that say No errors but no data delivered.

NextPVR asks Windows to stay until x, and windows takes care of the rest. Some machines are really quirky when it comes to windows power management.

It's pretty clear from that log that the machine is going to sleep. Maybe try increasing the sleep timeout in your Windows power management settings.

I think you will find yauiclient will be much more stable in the next NextPVR 7.0.5 release. The hidden sleep setting was never something NexPVR could address.

Changed from 15 to 30 minutes.

That would be great.  Right now the issues I have with it are:

- Skipping ahead very often crashes NPVR backend.  Using NPVR Lite doesn't do that.  But NPVR lite doesn't do subtitles, and has a big white bar at the top of the screen.  Once the backend has crashed I have to reboot.
- Subtitles after commercial stay on and new subtitles go on top of them.  Have to turn subtitles off and then on again.
- When you finish washing a show, it bounces out to main menu of show, you have to then go back in to delete that episode.  Minor issue.
- If you leave it on the screen after watching a show, it goes black, with time moving around and cursor visible.  Have to stop it in task manager.

It is the hidden inactivity timeout you need to change.not the screensaver or power down
Blame Microsoft.
