Don't get too excited, it'll provide very limited benefit
(and definitely less than you're hoping for)

That is the logic yes the issue with the UK OTA data is
- it only applies to S/E shows, and that is aren't always in the guide data. - sub does a reasonable job parsing the series number on a recent guide I got from the UK but 75% did not have a season number. If you pass a link to your database I can tell you what to expect and it will be different based on the channels The good news is up to 25% will have the air date now. - The UK guide data has many shows which are just part x of y shows at that is not how the online sources work. - for shows still in production the data needs to be refreshed to get the new date so there is more connectivity required - the data won't be available to Kodi and other external players. As Martin said, some channels (particularly the BBC!), do not broadcast series/episode as part of the OTA EPG.
They tend to put episode x of y instead. e.g. House of Games 23/100. This is pretty useless when trying to look up the original air date or trying to filter out recording duplicate airings for a specific series/episode. ITV, CH4 and CH5 are a bit more helpful although it's not 100% consistent. Ray
