Just upgraded to 9208, and most everything is working. A couple of small bugs, but that's because of my skin, not the program...however...
I am using VMR9 for playback, Intervideo Non-CSS (default), and the OSD used to show the FF, RW, Play, Pause buttons etc. They worked in FindFast/Watch, TV Guide/Watch, Videos/Play, MyVideos/Play, etc...now nothing.
It also used to show the program info in a box at the bottom.
This would all disappear after a few seconds, but return when moving the mouse over it.
What changed?

What skin are you using?

Also try explicitly setting the Intervideo Non-CSS instead of relying on the 'System Default' (if you are).

Using default blue.
I changed to Intervideo Non-CSS, and it works, except when attempting to play previous recordings. I get an error, prompting me to do that stupid error report. Error in: ivivideo_hauppauge.ax
Only half my recordings do this. Some play, some do not.

I tried the Mainconcept decoder. It plays everything, but no OSD.
I tried two different versions of Cyberlink, they play everything, but no OSD.
I updated the one from Hauppauge, it still crashes when playing some, but does have the buttons while playing others.
These were all recorded on my 250, so I don't see why some work, and some crash.
I do get the OSD when playing avi's...
I dread a total reinstall yet again.

I solved the crashing issue, by going back to version 4.0 of the non-css decoder (from my install disk), from ver 4.5 posted on the hauppauge site.
I still get no OSD when playing mpg's, recorded with the 250 or otherwise, however, I DO get OSD when playing avi's.
Any idea why?
Using VMR9 if that makes any diff.
Would updating the hauppauge drivers make a difference? (I dread the thought). I can't remember what version I'm using now, but it was from shspvr, not hauppauge.
I updated Directx to 9c (again), and updated video card drivers to the latest stable (non-beta) for my GF4Ti4400.
I suppose it's not that big an issue, but I hate when something technical beats me! As a tech, I should be able to solve this (with a little help) Smile

And you've explicitly set the video decoder to the InterVideo NonCSS decoder right? No, I dont know. Thats weird.

I'll keep an eye out for any other reports. I've not seen any so far.

I scoured every forum I could find, and there was one related issue with other software and different card, but still the ivivideo_hauppauge.ax error.
That's where I got the clue to go back to an older version of the decoder.
I definitely have tried every decoder I have, including Mainconcept, Intervideo, and Cyberlink. I'm tempted to try a few others, just for comparison.

OK, this is totally strange...
I changed from Intervideo non-css to "system default", and now the OSD works...
Any idea what my systemdefault decoder might be, and why it works, when the other selection doesn't? They should be the exact same thing, no?

I don't remember the name, but somewhere here on the forum there is a link to a tool that checks which decoder your system runs.
