The switching to timeshift message.
- I can't always see the HD light on the pvr, so I can't tell if it's started to play or not anymore. Maybe this could be an option. An additional tweak could be to let you enter a mesage to display, or more amitiously, an image (always partial to the indian head b&w test pattern)

Pressing record while watching persists after exit
- Mentioned this before. It's nice to be able to get what you've already seen, and be able to exit the show to watch something else, or go to bed w/o leaving the channel on.

0911 responsivness for the 150 (et al) when watching TS tv
- This one may just have to come in time, but again, however things were in v0911 was great for TS loading and time grid switching.

Already does display a 'switching to timeshift mode'.

I've not noticed any difference, and cant think of change that would have caused any loss of responsiveness. I think you're imagining things.

It stopped doing it for me. I went from 0911 to the newest release, and it was gone. So, if it wasn't removed, how can I get it back (or what would cause it to be gone).

I'd agree, except that it was very noticable both times I upgraded from 0911 (the 1st time was to the pre-maint release version...I went back to 0911 and it was fast again). Both then and now, there is a good 1-2 count on the end and then the load. I know it's not just me, because my wife finally noticed it (whereas only I saw the quick hiccup in 0911).

This could be something specific to my setup, but it was obvious in both of the last two versions.

I've just looked at the code and cant see any reason you wouldnt get this message.

I'm going to send a snip of the logs from opening/closing a show. Let me know if it shows anything.

One thing I noticed:

6/16/2005 2:18:43 PM.406 VERBOSE [5] SourceConfigurationContainer.LoadAll()

That is added every 2-3sec or so, on or off.

This is caused by the tray application when it queries the current status of any recordings. I've removed the log message in next release, because it looks pretty crap having a log full of this message. The behaviour is correct though, as the tray app polls the recording status every two seconds.

If the log message is bothering you, you can either stop the tray application, or set you logging level to 'info'

It's not there...when you press play from guide, the guide hangs out for 2-4 sec, then it goes to the show.

If it's load, I can't tell. Where is it very noticable is when you are watching a show, and ends and new one begins (the next grid). I know this is the change in files, but it used to be (0911) so fast, you'd think it was just a stutter in the playback. Now it's old show...pause, pause...play...pause, pause...new show

This issue isn't a huge bother (not being one of those "oh man, this sucks now"), but I'm wondering if I could find some way to improve it.

I just did a clean install, and aside from the DBs, only putting back the things aren't part of a clean install (plugins, bat files, etc). Still no screen about switching modes.

How does it get there? I'm wondering what I could look for that is missing, or turn on/off.

For the record, I didn't change anything else. It was there, I upgraded, it was gone.

You logs indicate you have live preview disabled. It'll only show this message when you switch from live preview to time shift mode. You're starting directly in timeshift mode.

it use to show the message whenever you entered live tv, even if live preview was disabled.
