download: my videos 4.1.0.6

just a few small bug fixes nothing major, just fixed all the little bugs and improved on things as i came across them (so i cant remember exactly what ive changed, but i changed a few things).

what i know i fixed
- stupid playdvdfolder bug.
- onscreen keyboard lookup starting text (the text that is shown in the onscreen keyboard when you choose a lookup, its more logical now, like subtitle is shown for a episode lookup etc).

there are more things than that, but hey bad memory.

enjoy.

ps its still using the old skin, so no skin changes, and it doesnt use the updated skin system that my pictures 3 will use (system? err you know what i mean).

Reven I have a few questions on how My Videos's works.

First of all I'm a big fan of all the "My" series plugins. I'm wondering about the behaivor of of My Videos database entries.

I have My Videos set up with a virtual root folder that is my TV recordings folder. If I access My Videos after a recording has been completed, the program info is attached.

Does My Videos copy the info from the gbpvr.mdb to mydatabase.mdb? It appears this is the case. I have a second PC setup with GBPVR as a client. Every once in a while if the client cant connect to the server the gbpvr.mdb is wiped out.

So If I had used My Videos before the database was wiped, I think the program info is still intact. This is how it works right? Is there a way to make My Videos grab the database info without actually having to access the plugin first? Some entry in my postprocessing.bat? Or, is there a way to import the program info file that XRecord can export. I know i can write a text file that My Videos will import, but I was hopeing for a way to use existing text file.

Thanks for your help.
GBPVR Server:

yes.

no, the first time you play the video (from anywhere, gbpvr just fires a "playing video event" with the filename, i use this event to grab the info from the database and mark that file as seen, since you are playing it), or if you just navigate to that file within gbpvr it will add it to the database. so there is no automatic way of doing thing

nah theres not, im sure someone else can easily write a little program to import that info into the mydatabase.

ill think about an automatic feature, just a little busy with another "secret" plugin right now Smile (not my pictures, something else Wink).

"Secret" Huh, that sound very interesting. Any hints?

Can you refresh my memory on the way to attach video info? I know I need to make a text file but I cant remember how to name it so it gets imported.

once its working better then ill tell, but incase i decide to drop it (which i doubt, i find it useful) when can all chat about it.

i *think* (i never use this feature, so i may have forgotten) you need a plain one line text file, called movie.details (for eg "movie.mpg") which is in the same directory as the "movie.mpg" file, and then once that file is found it reads the first line in as the description and then deletes the file.

Once again, I thank you, and I'm looking forward to whatever you have up your sleeve.
