Hey everyone.
Today I'm happy, received my PVR 500 MCE Big Grin
But I couldn't use it. :/
First I tried with RCA cables and my VCR as tuner, got no image and no sound.
Then I tried with coaxial cable, using the card tuner, got sound but no image.
Maybe the problem is because there is no "Brazil" option on the country list. Maybe?
Brazil is PAL-M and the Hauppauge support told me I needed a NTSC card, so I bought it. Hope this is not my problem.
I didn't have chance to test other softwares, had to come to work.
Does anyone have a clue? Or is there any way GB-PVR could "support" Brazil?
Thanx in advance.

I tried but had a dll file error.
Something like hwct"something".dll. Didn't have time to search for it.

Sorry, but you should get it working in WinTV2000 before looking at GB-PVR.

Yep, my mistake.
I was just excited with it, had no reason to post here before testing all possibilities.
I'll post again if I still have problems.

Well, the card is working on WinTV 2000 (needed to download that Lite CD pack and run setup.exe, otherwise I would still get the dll errors). It's working on BeyondTV trial too.
But still can't tune anything on GB-PVR.
Still think it's that country selection thing :/

Yea, maybe. From what I understand PAL-M is a bit of weird standard not widely used.

I've added Brazil into the list of countries in the next release, hopefully this'll resolve it.

Yeah, I hate PAL-M :/
Forgot to say that it's working OK with DScaler too.
But for now I can only use the coaxial input. Using the VCR as a tuner and the RCA inputs the audio is pretty bad, like static.

Sorry to bring this topic up again, sub. But I needed.
Today I decided to try GB-PVR again, as I would need to use both tuners from my PVR 500, but I couldn't. I selected Brazil on the country list but the image is black and white and all scrambled, like I was selecting NTSC instead of PAL-M.
I'm using the latest version of GB-PVR.
Is there something wrong with the country selection?

From what I can tell it looks okay. The only thing different with Brazil is it's country code. Behind the scenes the drivers are supposed to config this to the correct video standard.

You could try forcing it by editing direct.ini and setting "ForceStandard=512". This tells the driver to ignore the defaults and use PAL-M.
