Would it be possible to implement the ability to start ShowAnalyzer processing a file as soon as recording starts? Would cut down considerably on the time needed for post-processing for us with slower machines (Epia 10k).

I don't think this is possible with the free version, but with the pay version you can set up dirmon so that it starts analysis as soon as the video file first starts recording.

cheers,

Oh yeah. Forgot about DirMon...
I'll give it a shot some time, however I'd really love to do it with as few add-ons as possible, i.e. from within GB-PVR.

You may want to check out my "PVRPowerTray for GBPVR" application. It is a replacement for the GBPVRTray.exe application that comes with GBPVR. The announcement thread is here.

One of the many features of my app. is that it can launch a batch file called "PreProcessing.bat" each time a new recording commences. I simply include a line "comskip.exe %1" in that batch file and now I have comskip processing while the recording is in progress. This way, I can even skip commercials during time-shifting.

I suppose you could run SA in this manner instead of comskip, assuming SA can process a file in such a "real-time" manner.
