Quote:Tryed to upgrade my v0.92.11 but getting an fatal error "Installation ended prematurely because of an error". Then tryed a fresh install on a clean system but still the same error. Are there any log file telling me more why the program won't install.
Quote:I'm getting exactly the same error. Seems to happen righ at the end of the installation. I've seen similar behaviour in an installation package I did myself once, and that was when I had some custom actions that for one reason or another failed to run.
Sub, any ideas? Can we run the installation in debug mode somehow?
I had this happen once for me in the many test upgrades I did. I'm not sure why. I'm no Windows Installer expert, so even when I logged the installation the MSI logs meant nothing to me.

On that machine I had to do a fresh install of v0.92, then upgarde to v0.93 again to get the problem to go away. Beats me why...

Quote:my install worked great, however I closed out of GBPVR while in timeshift mode and the show I was watching is still recording.
I tried to reproduce this here, without any luck. It stops recording everytime for me.

It might be something to do with you M179, since I obviously dont test against this sort of card. Do you get any errors in your log files?

Yeah.. many are the times I have considered banging my head in whatever wall is the hardest when the alternative is having to debug an msi..

I tried turning on logging, but the only thing I found that seems remotely related is:

Code:
Folder: C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\
Action 22:54:21: WiseDotNetInstall.GBPVRRecordingService.exe.
Action ended 22:54:22: InstallFinalize. Return value 3.
Action 22:54:22: Rollback. Rolling back action:
Rollback: WiseDotNetInstall.GBPVRRecordingService.exe
Rollback: Registering modules...
Rollback: Writing system registry values...
Rollback: Registering class servers...
Rollback: Creating shortcuts...
Rollback: Creating duplicate files...
Rollback: Copying new files...
Rollback: Creating folders...
Rollback: Removing ODBC components...
Rollback: Updating component registration...
Action ended 22:54:25: INSTALL. Return value 3.
To me it kind of looks like the installation of the recording service fails, but it doesn't really give any clues to why.
Oh well, I guess I'll have to try the fresh install of 0.92-approach.. After a good nights sleep that is..

The FM Radio button is gone. The plugin still appears in the config window, and it is enabled there.

I have a Hauppauge WinTV-PVR USB2.

By the way, that lame zip file contains only the lame.ax file. There are no instructions for installing/using it.

Thanks for all the work you have done on this application, and for your responsiveness to the suggestions and questions people post in these forums.

Just edit the osd\skin.xml file and change:

<DrawText text="Browsing Mini Guide" loc="30,375" size="500,30" textStyle="OSDText" align="Left"/>

to

<DrawText text="@title" loc="30,375" size="500,30" textStyle="OSDText" align="Left"/>

I've done this for the next build.

You could try manually uninstalling it using the window's installutil.exe

Ah, right you are. It seems I left in the code that makes it only available on my machine. I do this while I'm still testing features. Sorry. I've made sure it'll be available for everyone for the next release.

Take my word for it, its much better than the old one. You can see a screenshot at the bottom left of: http://www.gbpvr.com/screenshots.htm

The new version doesnt require lame.ax unless you listen to the radio via an MVP. The owners of lame.zip removed the installation instructions. I dont know why. You can register lame.ax just like any other ax file: regsvr32 lame.ax

Sub, haven't installed it yet but reading the update list looks great. You've obviously spent a great deal of time with useful fixes.

Just registered to say great piece of software but I can't install the latest version, same problems as above.

Tried an upgrade first, no go. Uninstalled and tried a fresh, no go. Uninstalled, tried old then upgrade to new, no go. Installed to new directory, no go.

Any help appreciated as I'd like to be using GB-PVR Big Grin
