DVRtoMPG users? Help needed.

Has anyone had any success using DVRtoMPG available from sourceforge? It's a command-line utility that converts dvr-ms files to mpeg2. I get an error on 'loadMux()'. The error (0x80040154) in the Winerror.h file suggests a class isn't registered.

The utility has no documentation and all I can find from various user forums is that I need the Cyberlink MpgMux.ax (which I have and it is registered). Any ideas?

Alternatively, recommendations for othe command-line utilities to do the same (freeware or cheap shareware)? My attempts so far to build a DirectShow graph in C# have failed miserably.

AutoDVRconvert works great for me (it's on most of the Media Center sites). It also uses the Cyberlink muxer. The only problem is every so often there will be a file which refuses to convert to MPG.

You can also use Trans2MVP which is included with GB-PVR. Just run:

trans2mvp <source dvrms file> <destination .mpg file>

Thanks. I've found what seems to be the main discussion thread on The Green Button. I can't work out how to get it to run with command-line parameters (if that's possible) but it looks interesting especially with what looks like the ability to create custom XGR files.

Just run:

trans2mvp <source dvrms file> <destination .mpg file>

I'd forgotten about that (I only ever used it for one AVI file way back when). It hadn't occurred to me it would do the same for dvr-ms but I suppose that's how I can play them on my MVP. Duh!

In the case of DVR-MS files, its just a remux, no transcoding or anything extra.

Trans2MVP is throwing an unhandled exception (i.e., Do you want to send to MS type thing). The szModName is quartz.dll. The log shows...
