I know the title is freaky. Sorry.

My TVGuide shows about 5-6 days. Today I saw a show in the guide that appeared about 2 hours ago. I wanted to add a weekly (timeslot) reoccurring recording, but that show is weekly, so I don't have the next one in the guide yet. If I press OK on the previous one, all I get is "Exit". Can't set a recurring recording. I'd like to.

Thanks,
GGF

If the show will always have that timeslot you can either create a manual reording and specify whether it should record daily, M_F, etc
Or you can select the show and opt to do a record by timeslot to record whatever comes on at that time

I read another post about this that sub had responded to, and from what he said, it seemed like this was definitely by design and he had no intention of changing it. Even so, I'm with GGF--it'd be nice if you could select a past show in the TV-Guide and use the regular recording scheduling interface for it.

Hmmm.

I just thought of an angle on this.

How about just being able to manually type in the title of a show etc. and setting that as a season record? I realise what GGF is saying is an easier option as you'd just have to click on the past programme in the EPG to set it up. But being able to put a programme title in (even if it didn't exist in any current EPG) would not only fix GGF's situation but it could be really versatile.

At some point in the near future the UK channels will start running trailers for the 'Autumn Season' - they do it every year as summer comes to a close. They do it weeks in advance and by the time the programmes come around I've usually forgotten they were coming.

It would be great if I saw one of those trailers tomorrow (or whenever) and just entered the name and channel and set season record and in 3-4 weeks time it suddenly appeared as a new recording in my 'What's New' page?

Sorry - gone off on a tangent.

Cheers,
Brian

I've never tried this, but it may be worth a shot...why not adjust your PC's clock back one day, then create the weekly recording program, exit GBPVR, then return clock to correct date/time? You may have to restart the recording service after each clock adjustment.

As I said, I've never done this so try at your own risk, but it seems to me that there is a good chance that it might enable you to endrun the problem.

I've been toying with the idea of creating a plugin for GBPVR that would actually turn back time (ideal for betting on sporting events)...but I'm concerned about what would happen if I go back in time to before GBPVR even existed - how could I then use the plugin to return to the present?

Easy. You just take a trip to NZ, find sub and convince him he really wants to develop a PVR app. Smile

Sorry, but it won't help me too much because my show are all in Hebrew - I would need to request yet another feature - add Hebrew to the characters that you can type with the remote-control. Yikes!
Like you said - tangent. I think you should ask for this in a separate thread since your suggestion is a very useful feature to most users.
Thanks,
GGF

Sub - can you point us to the other thread where you said it's by design and won't change it - I'd like to read what you said about reasons...

Thanks,

I dont remember that specific thread, but there is lots of things I've said I wont implement so it's possible I said it. I probably wouldnt have given a reason, as I think it comes under the 'not important to me, so cant be bothered at the moment since I have more important things to do, but might change in future - change has got a couple of fish hooks that make mean more changes than it seems at first glance' category.
