I have a really slow response on my MVP. From a push of a button to some action on the screen (even just moving selection in a menu) takes about half a second. It have always been like this, both for GBPVR-MVP and Hauppage server.

Is this something I'll have to live with, or are there any trix out there?

Its never going to be instant. It has do quite a lot of stuff with every keystroke:

1/ send keystroke across network to server
2/ generate screen in response to keystroke
3/ convert from RGB to YUV to image for display on MVP
4/ compress image to gz format
5/ send image across the network
6/ MVP decompresses image and displays it.

The duration of steps 2,3,4 depends on the speed of your PC. A fast PC can really help the response time.

That was more stuff than I thought. I have a 3GHz P4, so it shouldn't be that end. Pitty there were no trix though.

Thanks for the reply.

Tipstir posted several trix for MVP speed up.

Maybe we can get him to write one consolidated trick page and post it in the wiki

Check if you haven't running gbpvr.exe twice (like I had, causing a very slow MVP)

Only one instance of GBPVR.

Looking at the thread mentioned above (Media MVP 1000 ) there were quite some tricks there...

Thanks for pointing me to it.

This wasn't something that i'd ever thought about until you said it but upon looking at my process' i do in fact have two instances running. I have no idea how that gets to be or how to stop it?

I have it set to start two MVP servers, could it be those that i'm seeing?

I noticed the same thing, one gbpvr.exe started by the user I login as and one gbpvr.exe setting started by "System"
I think it is because I have a setting to boot an MVP so it should have 2 running in this case.

Can you update the wiki so others can find the trix easily.
