xMediale - how do I reduce the banner size in livetv

In live tv mode the banner takes up almost half the page. How can I reducr the height?

I am on a 17 inch monitor and sometimes I cannot see some parts of the screen well becaus ethe banner height is too high. This is especially a pain for those who are hearing impaired and need the closed captioning. If the mouse moves accidentally, I have to rewind.
