So, I use gbpvr on a computer that's connected to a widescreen lcd tv, directly via the vga connection. So, my resolution is high (set to 1024x768 in windows, though I'm not sure that the tv displays that exactly. Anyway, my problem is I guess that the skins are set up for 720x480. However, that doesn't seem to be the *only* problem, because even when I drop down to 800x600, the text overlaps the buttons. Same problems as at 1024x768. I know that people have requested high-res skins, but I haven't actually found any yet.

My question is, what can I do in the skin.xml files just to fix a few minor issues that I'm having? Here are some screenshots:

See how the text on the bottom and on the buttons is "squashed?" Here are a few more:

What can I do to make this look better, so that the text isn't squashed? Or has someone come up with a high-res skin that I just haven't seen yet?

Thanks

First, I would start by checking the font size in windows, display options (right click on the desktop, select Properties, Settings, Advanced).
If it's set to "normal 96dpi", then you'll probably have to edit the skin.xml files.
Each one has a font size setting, usually labelled, "ButtonText", and it's one of the first, looking something like this
Code:
<TextStyle name="ButtonText" color="LightGray" typeFace="Tahoma" size="14" style="bold"/>
You can change the font size there, usually 12 is good enough. You can also reduce it from "bold" to "normal".
You may have to tweak it a bit, to 11 if you want to keep it bold, for example.
Do this to each of the skin.xml files, in each of the plugins, to keep it consistent.
You can never have enough tuners!

Its because you've configured Windows to use 'large fonts'. If you sent them back to normal all will be good.
