At some point I am going to get either a DishNetwork or DirectTV setup in my house. I am trying to figure out what receivers the IR Blaster functions with. Anyone know if there is a list of supported boxes?

Or if anyone has either DirectTV or DishNetwork working can you post your receiver model #. So I can make sure that the one I get is compatible.

I'd be interested in this, too, but on DVB-t boxes in Sweden... anyone use the 150 with any of those?

I think you can take the composite off the back of the recevier box into your capture card. Then use either the Grinder or the IR Blaster to control the receiver box. That way I can keep my cards just not use them as tuners.

The house I am eventually moving to does not have cable. Only dish.

I just want to make sure that the receivers I get can be controlled with my equipment.

Same here, but substitute "dish" with digital terrestrial... By the way, today Sweden has shut down analog transmissions in one of our regions. The plan is that by the fall of 2008, all of sweden will be digitalized.

*somewhat baffled*
This must mean that you actually pay more then $50 per month for tv? How many stations do you get? I hope you get live feeds from other planets for that amount... ;-)

I pay $50/month and only get about 60 channels. Analog cable and no pay channels. Of which when you remove the Trinady channels and the spanish and shopping channels I feel like I have 20 left.

I am positive that others are using this kind of setup with Direct TV or Dish Network. They just will not post. That is the whole point of the IR Blaster.

I'm using comcast digital cable. Therfore I require a cable box. I plug the cable box directly to my 350 (coax). I use usb-uirt to control my cable box. Since GB-PVR did not come with a profile for my cable box, I had to create a definition file... Well, GB-PVR has a feature to create the definition file.

In theory you sat box should work the same. Any signal that can be brought to your TV can be brought to your 150.

I get about 25 channels, of which I get about 10 both digtally and analogue. I pay $17 for this. When I think about it, I think there is also a $3 fee on my rent for "cable tv fee". If I don't want any digital channels, only the 10 "basic", analogue channels, that's all I'd have to pay. I could of course pay some more to get even more channels, but I don't find it worth it.

I think the "problem" at hand was whether the 150's built-in ir blaster would work with that particular box...

I have just recently gotten GBPVR to work with Directv using the Hauppage 150 and the included IR Blaster. My reciever is the Hughes SD-HBH....not one of the DVR boxes, just a plain jane reciever. I haven't had any problems with the blaster and set up was simple. Just select the Hughes reciever in the IR setup program and you should be good to go. Hope this helps you out some.
