I have a pvr250 using internal tuner. I've tried allot of different combinations of codecs but the bright areas of the screen seem washed out with no detail. Any suggestions?

Happens w/ the 150, too. I set brightness to -14, and contrast to 126. Not sure about 250 settings. Sounds like a big neg numbner, but I now get the exact quality of my regular cable output.

[EDIT]

Forgot to mention how to do this:

Just another point, check on your monitor (if your only looking at the TV output on a TV). I found that my TV out is blowing out my whites on one end, or having everything way too dark on the other :/.

Trying an SVideo connection instead (ordered up a cable today).

I found this disappeared for me and my picture was much clearer when i used the s-video to rca converter that came with my ati radeon 9250 video card.

Bah, I still cant get it right. S-Video cable? In or out? I have cable in and svideo out now. The colors are just whacked and the hilights are blown out:mad: I messed and messed with it. Ive tried allot of decoders with same result.

What weird is I can put in a DVD and watch it in windvd on the tv and its beautiful? I have another app that came with my mega180 called MSI Media Center deluxe. It doesent seem to jive with the pvr-250 on live tv but it plays all the shows I recorded in gbpvr and they look allot better that they do in gbpvr.

For kicks I d/l a copy of beyond tv and it does the same thing at gbpvr.

Why does the dvd look good and the live tv dont?

Tried the .76 nvidia drivers, seem a little better. I tried playing with the overdrive and it helped a little but its still ugly

They are more blown out in the newest 150 drivers. I just dropped to -19 bright, 122 contrast and 120 saturation. Now it's back to TV quality.

It's a real annoyance, and I'd go back to the earlier drivers, but the picture is nicer, and I can fix using the tweaker, so I'm willing to let it be for now.
