don't know, if it's the right place, if not, feel free to move the thread...
since the next my music release will have a db and won't play cda any more i had the idea to create a tiny plugin which does nothing other than playing audio-cd's.
i have found an easy way to open and close drive-doors, to lookup the discid, so this can be used to lookup discinfo from freedb, get album art and so on.
this would be automated (if configured), so all you have to do is open the drive-door, lay in the cd, close the door and hit play. with the option to play randomly, repeat......
i don't know yet, if i should use the gbpvr-pluginhelper for playing the cd. for this you'll need to register .cda as audio and so on. but the track - info could be displayed via the music panel or va-panel, which won't work with a non-cda solution.
two questions:
- is it possible, to tell gbpvr, that something is playing or will that mean creating another panel for cd-playback?
- is the interest in such a plugin high enough?
