I've recently seen problems with no data being received for a scheduled recording and don't understand why. The log shows the scheduled recording starting up but then shows a No data received message and the recording file is virtually empty even though the device LED show an active tuner. This has happened twice in two days.

The recordings, one for MTV and other other for CMT, are shown in the log file at 2025-04-13 06:00:00.279 and 2025-04-15 06:59:00.208 respectively. The only troubling thing I noticed was the mention of IP address 192.168.1.159 as the device address. The HDHomeRun device is at IP address 192.168.1.160.

I can watch live TV normally for these channls.

I'm stumped and would appreciate some expert help.

Thanks...JohnC
I'm still using 4.X on Windows, which is working fine.

Is there a way to set it so that the Series/Episode info is written to the recording metada?

Please note that I don't want to change the filenames to S0E0 format, so that doesn't answer my question, I just want the data in the metada if that's possible.

Thanks

First, I apologize as I feel this has most likely been answered before.

I currently am running NextPVR version 4.2.5 (191014). Am running version 4 rather then 5 or 6 as I rely heavily on an analog tuner. I have a Hauppauge 1265 (1196) tuner for analog NTSC and a Hauppauge DualHD for ATSC. I use Kodi as a frontend on the same machine as NextPVR, running Windows 10. I will refer to it as the main machine. Everything has been working fine.

I recently set the main machine to hibernate rather then shutdown as it has begun to be used more. This works fine as machine has been hibernating & waking up for recordings when needed. The problem is recently it has stopped being able to capture a TV stream when woken from hibernation. You select a channel to be watched (on either tuner) in Kodi and it times out failing to play. Doesn't matter if tried to access on same machine or remotely. If the channel is tried in NextPVR the program stops responding and eventually times out. Restarting the recording service does not fix this. If I reboot the computer everything works fine again.

Windows is set to never turn off the USB tuner to save power & the PCI Link State power management is off. Fast startup is disabled.

Attached are the log files. They should include everything running as normal & trying to access a stream after waking up.

Thanks

I've had persistent audio/video sync problems with two local broadcast channels, CITY-TV and Global-TV, Vancouver BC. The Auto A/V Correction in the LAV audio filter helped. It happened after a ComSkip or any skip. At worse, the picture go into slo-mo until the audio caught up. It got much worse after I switched from an ATI 5450 to an Nvidia GT-710. Audio was off by up to a second or more and I'd have to skip backwards up to 3 10-second jumps to re-sync. Recordings were OK in VLC and PowerDVD 19 which indicated a CODEC issue. So, I went back to an old, old standby - AC3Filter v2.6.0b. I set it up for SPDIF passthrough of AC3, DTS and MPEG audio.

Thought I'd share my story. Thanks to the NextPVR team for a wonderful product.

Hi - I'm still using legacy NPVR v4.2.5, and have a number of live TV channels through a Hauppauge HDPVR device that I run a blaster executable for, or at least am trying to...

On random tunings, sometimes the executable runs...sometimes not. Why would that be?

FYI I'm not running an actual channel changing blaster executable, I'm running an exe I created that is actually changing my Fire TV stick through Alexa routines, b/c I'm recording off that.
And I'm using Emby to call upon NPVR as a live channel (m3u).

I've zipped all my logs and attached...looking at the NRecord.log, I see where it knows to run the file but again I'll go through a spell where they don't run and I'm trying multiple channels.
The triggers where the blaster exe didn't run were today (8/7/22) around 08:59 and 10:29.

Thanks in advance!

When watching npr recorded programs, my desktop sometimes freezes. The error I get when I push a bunch of random keys is "npvr is not responding" and it asks if I want to close the program or wait. I can close the program and then resume after starting it again. Waiting does not help and I have to reboot. This can happen as little as once per week or as often as 3 times per recording. I am running v4. Have had this issue for over a year. Any suggestions would be helpful. The zip logs were created after my computer froze 3 times in 15 minutes.

I have an old eee 701 that I've got windows XP on with a realtek 2832 usb SDR tuner, using the 8664.001.0613.2011 drivers. I want to use the machine to send TV over my local network. Since no decoding of the video signal is required the low power nature of the machine should not matter. The machine has only 4GB built in drive space, but its got 2GB RAM. I have just enough space for NPVR and its requirements. I can install things to USB drives but would prefer not to. The last version of NPVR to run on XP was 4.05 so that is what I am using. Everything seems to be installed correctly but when I go to scan for channels NPVR says it can't find the filter for the tuner. I ran filter check and got the logs. See attached.

I doubt that anyone can help but it would be amazing if you could. Thanks for reading.
