Is there any option to Set Default EPG TV channel in PVR section ???

Is there any option to set a default TV channel? I'd like when I go into my epg to be at channel 101 (In UK this is the start of the main Freeview HD channels) rather that at channel 1 which are the SD versions. I know I can renumber channels and make the HD ones first, but as channel lineups change frequently I want as easy a solution as possible so I can just do a rescan and be able to use the rescanned channel list with minimal manual manipulation. Would be great if this was possible, Appreciate any suggestions

ABC IPTV channels not working

I am using NextPVR v7.05 on LibreElec v21.3
Since upgrading I can't get the Australian ABC channels to play, but all other channels work well!

I am using Matt Huisman's Kodi Australia/Sydney m3u8 file (included in the log) and access these channels via dns4me

Interesting errors seem to occur around line 7083

How to activate https for NextPVR Plugin in Kodi

For access to my nextpvr I need to use https protocol. The NextPVR plugin uses http and unfortunately the setting to change this is not exposed. I see the file /sdcard/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/pvr.nextpvr/instance-settings-1.xml and its content including the hostprotocol which I'd need to change. I tried editing using adb shell - it was not possible to save the file after editing. I tried adb pull and push - push was not allowed. Android does not allow modification of files belonging to an application from outside an application. There used to be a file editor as Kodi plugin which could edit this file, but it seems to be discontinued.

How is it possible to use the nextpvr plugin in Kodi on Android and activate https protocol for its access to the server?

Kodi and NextPVR playback limited to 720p only

Hi I have installed Kodi and next pvr on enigma2 receiver. Unfortunately when entering Kodi is limited to 720p only and auto refresh is not working. I have tried various setting in my open atv 7.6 video settings and Kodi and nothing helps still 720p only while channels are 1080 and 2060p. Thanks.

No thumbnails for skipping

On the NextPVR server on Settings > General > Recording Thumbnails it's set to While Recording and using the web /uiclient I can see and use them by pressing the arrow keys.
But using Kodi with the nextpvr client add-in I don't see them. Is there some other setting needed?

Kodi playback - repeating/looping

I often record NBA games with NextPVR and start watching them at some point while the recording is still going on. When I watch these games in KODI the playback is unreliable. I will watch a few minutes and then it will go back 30 seconds and start playing the same part again. I have attached logs for the most recent occurrence (2/8/26) of this behavior. Please advise. Thanks.

[Wishlist] Customisable timer default in Kodi

In Kodi, if I select a show via the TV Guide and then select Add Timer, the dialog has the timer type as Recording: Repeating (guide) by default.

I can't see any way to change this behaviour in the NextPVR add-on settings, so is it possible to add an option to set an alternative default? For my use case, I'd prefer Recording: one time (guide) to be the default.

My OS is LibELEC 12.0.2 on a Raspberry Pi 3 with NEXTPVR 7.0.1.2.

- If I try to view this channel in real time, I get the following message: Streaming failed (transcoder exited).

- If I record the same channel, I get a recording with video but no sound.
- If I use the same link on a similar OS with a simple IPTV client, everything is OK (so the link is OK).
- Note that some channels work for recording on NextPVR.

My question is: Is NextPVR more limited in terms of streaming than a simple IPTV client, so is it normal that some channels don't work?

NextPVR add-on won't load after Mac restart

Hello, I don't know if this has been addressed before, I didn't see anything in a quick search of this forum.

I have the latest NextPVR running on a RPi 5 using Raspberry Pi OS, and I have a Mac mini running macOS Sequoia 15.7.1 (I'm not quite ready to go to 26 but I will soon). I've installed Kodi (21.2 Omega according to the file I downloaded) and the NextPVR client add-on (21.3.2) on the Mac. When I open Kodi after setting this up everything works fine. If I reboot the RPi, Kodi on the Mac continues to work just fine. But if I reboot the Mac, when I open Kodi and go to 'TV,' I'll see a screen where it shows a message saying something like "PVR manager starting up" with a little spinning circle, and it just spins and spins and spins. In order to get the NextPVR client add-on to work again I have to reinstall Kodi from the downloaded file over the existing Kodi. Then the NextPVR client is right there when I open Kodi, without me having to re-add the add-on.

Is this a known problem with a solution or workaround? I don't know if I have the same problem after the Mac goes to sleep; I haven't worked that out yet.

Using EASY PLAYER SWITCH

Is anyone using the EASY PLAYER SWITCH plugin? It lets you switch to a different playercorefactory.xml upon demand; or completely switch to VLC as your Kodi player.

Does anyone have an edited XML with MX PLAYER PRO as the default player?

Long two hour recordings and player

So recorded a nice long movie of two hours. Went to play it and the player in Kodi just would not play the TS file. Switched to try MX PLAYER PRO and worked fine to play the same TS file.

Likely indexing or slight glitches in the stream when recording. Have had problems recording long streams forever. Always seems to be a glitch somewhere, but you would think that NEXTPVR would recover from the stream pausing.

Kodi Recurring Recordings (Default Type)

I have traced the behavior of the NextPVR Kodi addon when initiating a series recording from the Kodi EPG.
In Kodi, this is done from the EPG screen with an episode highlighted, and pressing the "t" key on the keyboard or initiating ActionID "ShowTimerRule".
In Kodi Omega, this is the dialog that appears with the listed settings pre-selected.

At these default settings, the pvr.nextpvr addon creates a recurring_type=3 entry which corresponds to "Record Series (Daily, this timeslot)" in NextPVR.

Changing the "Prevent duplicate episodes" option from All to New when Type=Recording: Repeating (guide) as shown does not affect the recording type that gets created in NextPVR.
Changing the Channel from the specified one to "All" changes the recording type to "Advanced by Keyword"

However, after playing around with the various options circled, I did observe the following resulting behavior.

1. Changing the Type to "Recording: Repeating (all episodes)" has an effect. Alone, it changes the passed recording_type=2 and causes "Record Series (All Episodes)" in NextPVR.
(Too bad this isn't the default option in the dialog).
2. With the Type set to "Recording: Repeating (all episodes)", now the "Prevent duplicate episodes" option works as expected. Changing it as well from all to "New Only" changes the passed recording_type=1 and causes "Record Series (NEW Episodes)" in NextPVR.
3. With the Type set to "Recording: Repeating (all episodes)", if the Channel is also changed to "ALL", no recording is possible and a Kodi error is thrown.

I also noticed in the Kodi logs, that when the ShowTimerRule is initiated it appears that the system is trying to load defaults from somewhere, but I don't know where that is.

If anybody has any insights on how to set the defaults, and whether this is coming from the Kodi code or from within the pvr.nextpvr code, I would appreciate it.

Ideally the goal is to press record on the remote and get a Series recording from the guide without having to fuss changing options in the dialog.
