I am a long time user, current version 7.1.1.260616, about 3 days ago I noticed there was a noticeable slowdown when selecting programs to record or playback, then recordings started to fail, either they didn't finish recording or when I tried to playback they would play a portion of the recording then just close, I could replay and go to same spot (no Resume available) and play, but it would stop again. Then I started to get messages "Recording service stopped during recording" Then the App started to lock up and had to be rebooted, Then the web browser"localhost8866" would fail with "Can't find" error, I can reboot and everything works for about an hour then the failures start again.

I checked the disks, they seem to be ok, I recorded and played back using WinTV, everything OK, I tried running Setup again, don't think it did anything. If I try to playback recordings from NextPvr on another windows viewer they have the same problems.
I am recording OTA all the FIFA Football matches on Fox. As of tomorrow, they will potentially have extra time and PK's if needed? I think. What is the best approach to add 1.5 hours to my series settings, forward looking from 06/28/2026? Should I just wait until the morning, delete the series and readd or can I just modify the existing one? If I modify existing, will that change todays also?

Hi,

Since few days / weeks, lot of issues with NextPVR, so I unsintalled and reinstalled, and now a channel scan on my DVB-T tuner only finds 15 channels.
Still works perfectly with same hardware on Linux.

**Setup:**
- NextPVR 7.1.0.260607 (Windows)
- Tuner: AF9015 BDA Filter (DVB-T)
- Region: France (TNT)

**What the logs show (according to Claude):**
- The tuner locks fine — e.g. at 474000: `locked=1, present=1, strength=20, quality=20`
- But the scan only probes a small set of frequencies: 474, 490, 498, 522, 562, 586 MHz, which is far fewer than the full French UHF lineup.
- Result: `"channelCount": 15` for the DVB-T device (normally around 40)

It really looks like the scan isn't covering all the multiplexes it used to.
I attach the logs.

Thanks!

I have been using NextPVR for many years with comskip without issue until recently. For some reason when I record one particular program (Alarma TV), comskip does not find any commercials. If I record any other program on the same channel, (or any other channel for that matter) comskip works perfectly. It is just this one program. What makes it even more confusing is that the channel shows a 1 hour version of Alarma TV and a 1/2 hour version of Alarma TV daily, and comskip works properly on the 1/2 hour version but finds NO commercials on the 1 hour version of the same show.

I realize this is likely a comskip problem, however some of the messages in the log make me think it may have something to do with the recording from NextPVR.

I am attaching the log generated by comskip and NextPvr.

If someone could interpret them for me and give me some guidance how to correct this issue.
Thank you

Basically, NextPVR works on two different machines, however there is a delay problem. The main menu of the UI comes up very quickly. However, when I try to access other menu items, like "TV guide", or "Recordings", or "What's New", there are lengthy (~ 20 second) delays before the program responds. As far as I can tell, all functionality is working OK, other than the delays. I have the Schedules Direct service, and my EPG is properly updated in the evenings. When I open the TV guide, although some programming items are subject to the same kind of delay previously mentioned, pop-ups come up eventually.

See the attached log below, at or around line 32. You will see it takes around 20 seconds to bring up the "TV Guide" menu. Other menu access is similarly delayed. I see delays when I bring up the UI, and try to load "Recordings", and after successfully bringing up the guide, some random programs produce a 20 second delay before bringing up a pop-up after a program is selected. The second time those menus are accessed, sometimes they are *not* delayed.

I have Windows 11 machines. I have a NAS drive; program recordings are saved to the NAS. I tried changing the recording locations to the local C: drive (thinking that the NAS access somehow was the issue), and that made no difference. Still lengthy delays. Also, when in the web interface settings app, the directory structure after entering the IP address of the NAS pops up instantly. (I put the NAS address in, and I get a dialog box with the various alternative directories on the NAS.)

It seems like there is something is timing out somewhere to a default or something. I am unable to figure this out. I am hoping for some help! Let me know if you have ideas on how to fix this issue (that occurs on both my machines on the same local network). In the log file, the delay seems to happen after the message "calculated resource directory:" (This directory is stored on drive C:, a solid state drive, not my NAS). See line 33.

I have only 85 channels in my EPG, and it's updated using Schedules Direct. I have Hauppauge tv receivers in both machines.

Any ideas what may be causing the delays??

Many thanks for any help!!

Hardware (for one of the machines, the other is similar):
Intel® Core™ i9-14900KF (3.20 GHz)
64.0 GB (63.8 GB usable)
Windows 11 pro
One solid state drive, two hard disks
Synology NAS 1522

I am trying to figure out the cause of playback hiccups on my system.

They look like momentary signal loss, but it is happening on local channels, and I have watched a signal meter and it looks like the signal quality is excellent and steady.

Accordingly, I wonder if it may have something to do with writing to storage. My recordings are written to a USB3 external hard drive. Is there any kind of buffer that receives the data before writing to disk? Is it configurable?

I've configured my HDHR Flex 4K and I can watch and record Live TV from nextpvr web client but the TV Guide shows all (no listings).

I've created an xmltv.xml file with OTA listings from Gracenote and copied it to the config directory in the Docker container.
From Settings > Guide > Add XMLTV Channel Lineup I've specified config/xmltv.xml.

From Settings > About > Update EPG I get the message:

EPG Update complete. [0 inserted, 0 updated, 0 skipped]

What am I missing here? TIA.

Trying to record to a local NAS from a Windows 10 installation of NextPVR.
I mapped network drive, F:, to the IP of the NAS 192.168.50.4. In NextPVR, I am unable to see drive F under settings "General" and "Recording Directory." I read that I need to switch NextPVR Service from Local System account to a user account, which I did. While I am able to record locally with that changed, I still am unable to see the F drive when trying to change the recording directory.

I have tried manually entering the location, "\\192.168.50.4\Recordings or "D:\Recordings" all of which do not record to.

I saw that there was a thread from 2009 about a utility called ShareHelper but have been unable to find an actual download for that (I could not find it on the wiki).

Any advice on this would be appreciated.
