Just upgraded to 3.9.2 - NMTs now fail playing recordings

Hi, I just made the upgrade to NPVR 3.9.2. My server is on Microsoft Windows WHS2011 - the latest windows upgrades were also installed at the same time.

On my NMTs (A110s) the menus operate fine, but when I playback a recorded .ts file the playback will run for a few seconds max and then crash - either back to the recordings menu or with a lockup (black screen) of the NMT which then requires a reset.

The same files played through the native NMT interface play fine (so I have a long winded work-around). The NPVR PC client also plays the recordings OK.

I cleared the logs, restarted the NPVR server and attempted to play some recordings on the test machine. The first two dropped back to the menu screen and the last one froze the NMT - zipped logs attached. My TS files are all recorded from a DVB-S2 sat card, mostly in HD but SD recordings playback also fail in the same way

Any and all suggestions gratefully received.

NMT's started stuttering

I built a new machine recently and things have been working well, until now all of a sudden both my A100 and A110 have started stuttering. Audio will drop mostly, but video will stutter also. Skipping forward or back fixes it sometimes. They will work fine for a while then start stuttering again. All files run fine on the pc, so I'm pretty sure it's a network issue, but I don't know why it would start suddenly, I haven't changed anything there, and I don't really know how to troubleshoot.

Any suggestions?

New machine - A100 works, A110 does not

I just built a new machine. Old machine ran Win 7, new one is Win10. Moved everything over, copied configurations over, modified npvr.cgi and index.htm with the new machine name and ip, shared the mvpmc folder. Opened the firewall. The A100 started right up. The A110 boots, loads the share, loads the index.htm, trys to load but goes to black screen then it reboots, and repeat.

Funny thing is, while I was building the new machine, the A110 would connect to the new machine before I put the new share on it. Now that I want it to, it won't.

mvp.log is attached if it's any help. Any advice, or do you need more info?

After years of trouble free service my PC died from a power-outage induced surge. I have built a new one and have NPVR running but ... can't get my NMTs up! I get to the NPVR.html menu, but when I click NPVR I get the dreaded message. This is a Windows 10 PC, I have edited npvr.cgi to use my username and password for mounting /etc/mvpmc (using vim as the editor) and substituted my sharename in the NPVR.html. I have C:\mvpmc shared with Guest and with my personal id. Windows Firewall has npvr in the allowed program list. One strange thing is that if I use the network browser on the PCH and navigate to the media server it says no content found. Below is the Syntax Checker output. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Replacment NMT blank screen/can't connect

Hi Guys

I need some help please.

I can't get a replacement NMT to work, I had got a another one from ebay after my previous one wouldn't power up, but I can't get the replacement to show the NPVR interface.

It has been a bout 4 months between swaping them, I don't think I've changed anything in that time, I load MVPMCX2 from a USB disk, I've tried it using a NPVR 3.2.9 setup on Vista as well as an other setup on Win7 using NPVR 3.3.8 but to no avail.

The logs attached are from the 3.2.9 Vista installation.

Happaugue 45 button remote on NMT

Hi I've just been forced to upgrade to NPVR from GBPVR this week due to purchasing a tuner not supported on GBPVR. It was not as painful as I thought it would be and was pleased to find the bedroom MPV can play TS files and live TV (which was not the case a few years back).

Unfortunately I said to the wife that the NMT in the living room can be configured to use the Happaugue 45 button remote (according to the tips and tricks page) but I can not find a valid link to download the lirc1 file. Can anyone help me please - she hates the NMT remote and I do like to keep her happy whenever possible.

Recording since Jan 2006 - nearly 9 years and the first recording is still playable and it looks like it will be for another 10 years. I hate change.

I tried renaming all my plug-ins with underscore at the beginning. I stopped my service & zipped the log directory.

NMT won't play files with German Umlauts

I have trouble playing files with German Umlauts (Ã¤, Ã¶, Ã¼) again on the NMT. NMT connection crashes and I am back to main menu. I am not sure though, if my problem is related. Files don't play from the video library either. Renaming files cures the problem, however, I can't go through recordings anymore, because the filename does not match anymore - of course.

I had this same problem some time ago, but it had been fixed by adding this to config.xml: true . However, that doesn't seem to work anymore.

Logs don't show much, except for the MVP server restarting.

PCH won't play videos after upgrade to 3.2.9

I recently updated NPVR to 3.2.9 (from 2.4.something) any my PCH stopped playing videos. Then menus work fine, but when I play a video the screen goes blank for a few seconds then it goes back to the menu. Yesterday I downloaded and installed the latest NMTInstall2.exe but the problem remained.

I'm running Windows 8.1 and my PCH is an A-100. Everything has worked flawlessly until the update. I've attached the mvp.log.1 and I can grab other logs later today if they will help.

PCH not working after IP address change

Hi,
I have had a PCH working successfully for some time now, but having got a new router I was forced to change the ip address range I was using. Since then I have failed to get the PCH working again. I have changed the address in the settings on the box. The box gets as far as the press enter to stop loading NPVR screen but never loads.

Am I right in thinking that to get this screen means that the PCH is communicating with the media server correctly, if so I don't understand why it now does not load NPVR. Is there another reference to the old ip addresses somewhere I have forgotten that needs changing.

Must be something obvious it is only a couple of ip addresses that changed,

Cannot get mcpmcx2 working after re-install - help

After years with no trouble my NMTs give me nothing but "request cannot be processed'. It started after I had to re-install the mvpmc directory. Cannot figure out what has gone wrong. Could one of you experts look at the attached log files, plus read out from NMT checker

The PCH seems to lose connection after about 45 minutes to an hour. Computer, power settings set to High Performance, monitor sleeps after 15 minutes computer sleeps Never, HDD set to turn off after 20 minutes.

Not sure of the exact time, put on the football game fall asleep wake up around half time to a blank screen on the PCH. It has happened more than once. Both the sleeping and the blank screen (maybe I should follow a more exciting team)

Any suggestions would be great.

No picture or sound in PCH-A100 when trying to play recording

Hi, I can't play recordings via NPVR on PCH. I can setup the recordings and view the TV guide but just can't play the files. Drop back to recordings menu after about 30-60 seconds. I've tried with firewall off and still no luck.

I can play the files using PCH if I go outside of NPVR and just play them from their folders.

I've attached my log file.
