Hi Mister Slimm, any plans for updating your utilities for NPVR or have you moved on (I read you no longer use GB-PVR)?
I think some of the tray icon function is now in NPVR but I'm particularly interested in GBPVRCli. If it is dead anybody know of an alternative way to get future recordings out of the database and into a text file.
thanks again.

After a few days of messing around, I now have the gbpvr server machine getting pending, recording, and recorded data from gbpvrcli along with running or hibernated - these get converted to images and dumped to my NAS (for when server is hibernated). In turn, these are displayed on my recently acquired joggler which is close to the TV (unlike the server).

The only downside for me is the appearance of the tuner status page - with the others you can left and right justify the name and date/time with the title,-45 method - but for tuner status it seems all crushed to the left.

Is there any way to tidy up the alignment of the tuners and their status's please??

cheers

Hi,

I've been using Slimm GB-PVR and GBPVRcli for a while and i've noticed that lately SOME recordings are missing from the tray menu and they don't show up even after restarting the PC or the tray util. the auto-purge for missing recordings is disabled in the config xml.
The PVRX2 is showing and playing all recordings without issues. is this a known issue for which there's a quick fix? i'm using the latest 1.8 version.
Thanks!

Don't have alot more to go on. This is what happened this time:

I was watching TV in 'Live TV' mode, I know the tray icon was flashing green. GB-PVR went back to the main menu when it was time to start recording the program (no clue what the tray icon was doing but I do know I did not see a yellow bubble saying 'recording has started').

I went away from the computer about 30 mins and then came back to the computer. I had to restart the computer so I looked to see if the tray icon was flashing green and it was gray. Restarted.

When the computer finished booting up the tray icon was flashing green.
The program was an hour long program but I didn't realize I was only away for about 30 mins till after.

This is an update of my GBPVRTray replacement, Slimm GB-PVR.

To install:

Ensure you have installed .NET Framework 2.0. It can probably be installed by accessing your Windows Update or you can follow this download link: Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Redistributable

Download and install SlimmGBPVR: Download from SkyDrive

Tray Features:

The tray icon can now have a tooltip allowing you to disable the balloon if you wish and still receive information by hovering over the icon. The Tray Configuration form has a new System Tray Tool-tip area to customise the tool-tip. They are also a couple of additional registry settings to customise the tool-tip.

"Delay shutdown when intercepted" added to Tray Configuration/Advanced/Shutdown options.

If Slimm GBPVR is already running, when you start a new copy it will terminate the old one. This is handy for when Windows Explorer crashes and doesn’t restore the icon. Now you simply run Slimm GBPVR again; the old instance will be terminated and the new one, with a shiny new icon, will execute. It has been used to provide command-line access to Slimm GBPVR’s delayed shutdown features.

Command line switch /shutdown added.

I've been trying to catch a moment to log a problem across which I may have accidentally stumbled. I thought I would describe it here in case someone can explain it without a log.

I was running a polling process that used the CLI to check for current and pending recordings, and periodically restart the recording service if none were imminent. There are some deeply involved reasons that I wish to do this, and I can bore you with them in a different message if you wish.

In the meantime, here is what happened: I started to notice that my programs were often being cut off at the end. Looking at my own log, I saw that the polling process was restarting the service during post-padding time; not always, but often. Since Australian listings are ridiculously inaccurate (often as much as 20 minutes off), this would sometimes interfere with the program.

I tried to duplicate this from the command prompt, and couldn't. The CLI always accurately reported a recording in progress, even during postpadding time. However, now that I have disabled my polling process, the problem has gone away. So, it's a mystery.

Guys,

I have five questions about the great SlimmGBPVR:

1. How can I map the Exit-Button in GBPVR to Slimm's hibernate?

2. If I initiate a manual hibernate, e.g. using the power-button, and Slimm catches this one, will Slimm then go into delayed hibernate?

3. If Slimm is in delayed hibernate mode, is it possible to leave that mode? E.g. will it be left if I move the mouse or press a key?

4. Assuming a recording starts at 10 AM and I am doing hibernate at 9:59:50. Will the computer go to hibernate? Or does Slimm have a pre-recording avoid-hibernate interval, so that e.g. the computer does not go to standby x minutes before a recording starts.

5. Does Slimm also catch hibernates if EPG is being updated or only for recordings?

Feature request:

Is it possible to add a timer-base auto-hibernate function so that the computer will go hibernate after x minutes of inactivity?

I know I have asked this before, but I am really quite desperate: I want very much to simulate Slimm-GBPVR's "standby" function from a batch file. Every CLI I've used to enter standby either overrides Slimm's "delayed standby" trapping, or will not restart for recordings, or both. Slimm's works perfectly, but I have to do it manually with my mouse.

Come on, genius community...there's got to be a way.

I'm 90% sure that I've figured out why timeshift is stopping after 5 minutes, as well as Graphrecorder losing its abillity to cancel recordings. As usual, it's my fault.

I have a polling batch file that uses GBPVRcli to check for in-progress and pending recordings, and otherwise restarts the recording service. This is to help me manage my streaming stations from TVUPlayer and other sources. What I didn't realise is that GBPVRcli does not register a timeshifting station as an "inprogress" recording.

Is there any way to use the CLI to either check for recordings that are timeshifting, or check to see if the player is active?

Unfortunately, the delayed shutdown still turns off my computer, when i've requested a restart.
"shutdown -r" does a reboot, not a turn off.

Is there anyway to set it to default to "reboot" instead of shutdown?

or could we get a slimm cmdline option to restart when then the recordings are finished?
