Universe or Network Tuner plugin for PIP

mvallevand, with Sub maybe making a API if I get a webcam served from playon UPnp. Will Universe or Network Tuner plugins act as a channel so a PIP of that stream will play?

I forgot to post the attached update for Universe that fixes a problem when there is no video meta data in the UPnP info

Attached is the latest WebRadio that I have been using for months now, but there still might be issues

Changes

- built with .Net 4.0
- 20+ plus bug fixes many more stations stream
- removes hidden dependency on GBPVR registry
- removed vlc CLI option that has been removed

- initial support for web client (sent http url to client)
- supports steaming video (see next post)

universe and live streams from PlayOn

Martin,

I've been playing around with PlayOn and Universe again, and have encountered a bit of a problem. After I watch a live TV stream, like from the NBCOlympics or NASA TV plugins, an instance of MediaMallServer.exe stays at 50% CPU (i.e. 100% of 1 core on my dual core system) and makes everything else in NPVR slow and choppy. This goes on until I shut down the server from the PlayOn program, or just End-Task on the offending MediaMallServer.exe process.

Could this be a Universe bug where it doesn't properly tell PlayOn that no one is watching any more, or would this be a PlayOn bug? Have you encountered this before?

I attached the NPVR log; in this instance my wife went into Universe at 18:33:40.099, launched NASA TV for a minute, found it wasn't what she wanted (Curiousity rover mission coverage), and hit Escape. About 15-20 minutes later I went in and restarted the PlayOn server.

webradio 3.7, unhandled exception on digital radio

I just updated to WebRadio 3.7, and enabled the Digital Radio feature as I now have basic digital cable which includes some digital radio channels. I am able to listen to them using NPVR, so they're setup correctly.

However in WebRadio, I get an unhandled exception when I try any digital radio station. It shows the Waiting 1 Second message, then shows Buffering 167696, then the Unhandled exception appears.

Other WebRadio sources seem to work - I was able to listen to various Shoutcast and Live365 feeds. I do have various files showing up in C:\Temp, including Gbnetradio-#.ts and .mp3 files.

Any idea what's going wrong?

I've installed nPVR as well as the Universe plugin on my GBPVR system. nPVR works as far as playing files and such, but choosing Universe immediately crashes nPVR. nPVR logs are attached.

Hey Martin,

I've decided to finally give Universe and PlayOn a serious try. I'm just wondering if you have any thoughts on running the PlayOn server on the main NPVR box. How heavy is it? Does Universe have any problem connecting back to PlayOn on the same computer?

Hey Martin, I just installed Universe and am using it on my MVP to hit my PlayOn server. It connects and the videos play just fine. However, the displayed video is centered left to right, but floating off the top of the screen by a few inches. The MVP display in NPVR is centered perfectly on my TV, it's only the universe videos that are off. Any ideas?

Is there a way to get next 100 items with Universe on NMT?

Again congratulations on this plugin -- my family uses it every day for Netflix, Hulu etc. One issue is that many times the show we are looking for is past the 101 items that get downloaded and I can't figure out a way to see the next ones. Is this possible?

I have uploaded a new version of WebRadio to the NPVR wiki with the following changes.

- Updates for Shoutcast API 2.0
- Direct support for radiofeeds.co.uk
- Increased player buffer to 160k
- Skinnable tray icon for WebRadio with Now Playing info. Remove WebRadio.ico from Default and active skin to disable this.
- Tweaks to Now Playing.

I wrote a scraper for http://www.radiofeeds.co.uk/ since I find it an excellent source of 100's of radio streams from the UK and I thought rather then building integrated support, I'd just post the lists from time to time.

To enable it add this to your UserMenu.xml file and copy the attached to your DataDirectory\Plugins\WebRadio folder

Systray Notifications

Is anyone interested in having Web Radio icon in their systray with Now Playing text in the next WebRadio release? I was playing around and added this a few weeks ago and I like it, but I know some people don't like things in their tray and I don't want to bother making it configurable since there are so few users (Shoutcast broke a couple of days ago and no one has noticed so far)

The balloon comes up with track changes for 5 seconds and if you hover over it you also can get the text at any time.

March Madness on Universe

The recent PlayOn update added support for NCAA March Madness free even here in Canada. I thought some of you might be interested in seeing how the quality of online streaming (the middle one with the http title) vs analog (9Mbs) and HDPVR captures look.

Universe+PlayOn on PC

I now have Universe giving us (with thanks from Lucille84) PlayOn/Netflix/Hulu/etc on our eGreat M34A clients - thanks completely to Martin's unselfish support in resolving various issues. This has completely tranformed our TV viewing -- thanks ever so much for this great plugin.

Occassionally I attempt to access PlayOn via Universe on the nPVR PC but no joy. It gives "Waiting" message, then "Buffered nnnn" message, then reverts back to menu.

Is Universe/PlayOn intended to be usable on the PC as well as the NMT?

I don't know if any of you know of the web site called Grooveshark, it's actually a pretty good source of music with a web search engine. I've wanted to get this into NPVR for a while but since someone already has done it for the PS3 Media Streamer (PMS) and it works pretty well, I thought it would be welcome by a few in Universe. I did have to make a fix for PMS but after that smooth sailing.
