I am getting very confused. I am trying to migrate off a SageTV system I have been nurturing for 15 years.

My basic need is to have a Client on a number of FireTV boxes (Roku too would be a bonus but not overly concerned). I want the client to have an EPG, DVR and Comskip and the server to use my TBS cards.

So far I’ve been in a merry go round of Plex, Emby and NextPVR. I have bought short subscriptions for the first two but neither supports the TBS cards, but I like their UI and will keep one of them for music and video libraries.

I have been able to get NextPVR up and running with EPGcollector for the EPG. Was pretty easy imho.

My question is what is the best way to get comskipping NextPVR client on FireTV box? I understand the NextPVR plug-in no longer works with Emby. I have setup KNEWC on Kodi but the UI client looks low res and doesn’t respond to settings in Plugin configuration tool.

Am I barking up the wrong tree or should I just throw in the towel and get a HDHomerun for Native Plex or Emby TV streaming ?

When I play a recording in the web client (in Chrome 69 or Edge 42 on Win 10) I can see a seek bar until I switch to full screen mode then it disappears, I was hoping to see it pop up as an overlay if I moved my cursor to the bottom of the screen but otherwise not be visible.

When I'm watching something with adverts when they start I have to switch out of full screen mode use the seek bar to find where the adverts stop and the go back into full screen mode.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there a setting I need to tweak somewhere to enable this or some shortcut to skip 15 secs forward for example when in full screen mode that I am unaware of?

It's not the end of the world for me but it's proving an issue with getting the less tech savvy members of my family comfortable with using it.

Thanks,

We use the classic NEWA interface to do at least 95% of our recording scheduling around here. I found out quite by accident last night that 4.2.2 has broken the ability to update an existing scheduled recording. With POTUS interrupting network TV last programing last night at 9pm, I went into NEWA and plugged in an extra 90 min of padding on 2 scheduled recordings in case the networks decided to play the shows to their conclusion after the news conference. Much to my surprise the shows only recorded for the 60 min they were originally scheduled for. Yea, it's on me, I didn't double check to make sure the padding actually got added. Bottom line though is I can confirm though with some testing and its quite repeatable, that NEWA no longer can update and existing scheduled recording. You can delete a pending recording, just not adjust the pre and post padding.

Any chance the ability can get added back in?

I'm away from home for a while and decided to stream a couple of recordings to my Surface Pro Windows 10 tablet.
NEWA opens fine (modern interface) and I can select the recording to play.
I see the transcode start message and then buffering 25%, 50%, 75% 100%. It then say playing but no video/sound output.
After a few seconds I see a message "The media could not be loaded either because the server or network failed Or because the format is not supported"
VLC is installed, is the default player and I get the same result in either Internet Explorer or Edge browsers.
Any ideas where the problem may be?
Can't easily access the logs as not back home for a couple of weeks.

Hi y'all -

I'm new to NEWA and having a hard time setting it up. It all seems to be working on my internal network. When I connect to 192.168... all the content works as it should. But when I'm on another network and connect to my external IP, all my content is missing. I can login just fine, but the pages show nothing where I should see all my stuff. I've attached an example:

When I use the "classic" guide (.../guide2.aspx) I can see the content, but the video doesn't play (something about old plugins, I think?).

Any ideas how to get this working?

I tend to like the "Classic" web interface better than the "Modern" one. Partly because it includes some additional info not included in Modern (like Original Air Date). But, some time ago the Manage Recordings view developed a problem when scrolling down the page. I have minimal web page designing skills, but it appears to me that the issue may have something to do with overlapping "frames".

At the bottom of the page, thee is a frame that illustrates the color coding scheme for "Pending", "In Progress", etc. The same is true on the "TV Guide" page. With the latter, if I scroll up the page, that bottom frame stays put as one would expect. But... on the Manage Recordings page, when you try to scroll down through the list of recordings, that bottom frame scrolls up, covering over the info on one of the recordings. If one looks close at the scroll bar on the right side of the window, the scroll bar extends down into the bottom frame area on the Manage Recordings page, but does not do so on the TV Guide page.

I may not be describing this well enough to follow... so in the vein of "a picture is worth a thousand words", I have attached four screen captures. Two are of the TV Guide page and two are of the Manage Recordings page. In each case, there is one screen capture reflecting being scrolled all the way to the top of the list, and another partially scrolled down. I have annotated in red a few key points to observe.

I usually use Firefox, but the same behavior occurs if I use Chrome or Edge. And if I use a different computer. Perhaps most people use the "Modern" web interface and that is why I haven't noticed this being reported earlier.
