According to the attached Screenshot of the upper left corner of the NextPVR "Settings" screen, I currently have version 7.0.5.260307 installed ,and would like to update to version 7.1.1.260616 as is also shown on the Settings screen as being the latest available. To do this from the Linux Command-Line, I basically followed the same procedure as for a first time installation of version 7.1.1 using the commands shown below.

1. curl https://nextpvr.com/nextpvr-helper.deb -O
5. Reading state information... Done
6. Note, selecting 'nextpvr-helper' instead of './nextpvr-helper.deb' :~$ sudo apt install ./nextpvr-helper.deb --install-recommends
7. nextpvr-helper is already the newest version (3.1).
8. 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 337 not upgraded.
9. dick@deb:~$

Lines 6 and 7 seem to suggest that the Linux Installer (nextpvr-helper.deb) is confused between what is currently installed, and the version it should be installing.

I have no other way of determining what version is currently installed, so maybe the "Settings" screen is wrong, or the latest version is already installed. Any help in resolving this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, my question is about how to add a channel to the NPVR program guide. I am using the current NPVR version on linux, I have an HDHR dual OTA tuner and I am subscribed to Schedules Direct, and I'm in the southwestern US. Out of the seventy or so channels that show up whenever I scan for channels on my TV, or in the HDHR app, I currently have 35 selected for the devices and the NPVR program guide. I have had this setup working for about a year and everything has been working fine. I need to add a newly created (in my area) OTA channel, and I don't want to screw up my current configuration when I do it.

The situation here is that network programming for CBS is leaving the channel it has been associated with forever and is being moved to a new digital sub channel (XX.4, for example) of another local channel that has always been associated with another major network, and it is this new digital channel (XX.4) that I need to add to the program guide. When the new channel was activated, my TV and the HDHR guide both picked it up immediately.

Using the web browser interface for my NPVR server, I went into settings and selected the devices tab. I selected one of the two HDHR devices (which currently shows the 35 channels I have selected for the guide), and clicked the "scan channels" button. In the guide selection I picked (as I always have) the Schedules Direct local broadcast listings for my zip code. The results were a total of 30 channels, a few of which are among the channels I currently have selected, most which are not currently selected. The newly created XX.4 channel does show up the scan. At this point I cancel out because I'm unsure of what to do. As I said, I don't want to screw up my current configuration.

If I select only the new XX.4 channel from this scan list, will the new channel be added to my currently selections, or will the current selections be erased and only the new channel show up in my channel choices for the guide?

Thank you in advance for your help.

I recently updated nextpvr from version 7.0 to version 7.1. Version 7.0 had been working properly with no issues at all. After I upgraded to version 7.1 I began to heve guide related issues. I got frustrated to the point where I reformatted the SSD and installed a brand new copy of Ubuntu 22.04.5 and nextpvr. The issues persisted. I next tried a clean install with Ubuntu 24.04.4 and nextpvr. Not only did the same issues persist but now there was an additional memory leak to contend with.

1. scheduled recordings are broken, I keep getting [Failed: HDHR stream not available]
2. When a TV show that I'm watching gets to the end, it stops and drops to the TV guide instead of playing the next show.
3. I can't get rid of the Silicondust EPG. The trash icon turns red when clicked, but nothing happens.
4. I have the timeshift setting at 120 minutes and the Ubuntu 24 memory leak occurs when a channel is left on for a day. Eventually the PC reboots due to "OOM" out of memory. I installed a dynamic memory manager "swapspace", which showed that virtual memory was getting over 300GB, dotnet appeared to be the issue.

Please find attached log files.

Hey all,

I'm having an intermittent transcoding issue with NextPVR on Ubuntu 24.04 using VAAPI hardware acceleration. Most transcoding attempts fail, but occasionally they work without any changes.

Intel® Core™ i5-7500T CPU
Driver version: Intel iHD driver for Intel® Gen Graphics - 24.1.0 ()

I've verified permissions on /dev/dri/renderD128, the nextpvr user is in the video and render groups, and vainfo reports VAAPI support.
I've attached my latest logs (zip), which include both successful and failed transcoding attempts.
Any ideas on what I should check next?

Hello ppl,

Summary
I am running the latest ARM64 Docker image of NextPVR on a Raspberry Pi 5.
The DVB-C scan succeeds and channels are imported correctly, but Live TV and recordings always fail with:

Code:

No tuner was available for the requested channel.

The DeviceHost logs show:

Code:

Failed to get tuning params for (...) from /config/adapterX-DVB-C-channels.conf

The file is either never generated by NextPVR or the DeviceHost expects a different format than the standard DVBv5 tuning files.
Problem
When starting Live TV:

Code:

DeviceHostLinux

Important observation
Originally there was no

Code:

/config

.
The DeviceHost still expects them.
Experiments
I manually created

Hello ppl,

Summary
I am running the latest ARM64 Docker image of NextPVR on a Raspberry Pi 5.
The DVB-C scan succeeds and channels are imported correctly, but Live TV and recordings always fail with:
The file is either never generated by NextPVR or the DeviceHost expects a different format than the standard DVBv5 tuning files.

I run NextPVR on two Pi's, one Pi4 and one Pi5. The Pi4 runs NextPVR via a Docker container, while the Pi5 runs it via installation with the Helper. This week I upgraded both Pi's to the latest version of NextPVR, v7.1.0.260607. This question concerns the behavior of the "other" web client across the two machines.

On the UI on the Pi4 (Docker), I see the main menu item "UIClient" just to the right of "Scheduler." Clicking on this brings up an alternative vertical menu structure (that I had never used before) which seems powerful. It appears to work fine; I like it.

On the UI on the Pi5 (Helper), "UIClient" does not appear on the main menu. If I go to the Settings page, and press the button "Where is the other web client?" the web page goes black, and a tiny square of pixels is shown in the upper left corner (using Chrome on Windows 11). The running NextPVR server process then exits with the following in systemctl:

Hi folks,

Just upgraded to version 7.1.0.260607 which fails to find any sat>ip channels from my Triax TSS400. The log file shows a problem with paths.
I have included the log file which also contains an updated '1600 KoreaSat6 FTA (160.0E).ini' which reflects the updates made to freeview NZ satellite in the last week or so!
Please let me know if I can provide any further information
I've tested it using dvbv5-scan and a 30 sec timeout and it does then scan the channels OK.
The issue isn't signal strength as the other frequencies are a similar or even lesser strength, it just seems that the service on the problem frequency is slower to enumerate(?).

Hi,

I have a AVM Fritzbox cable router which provides 4 IPTV devices. Nextpvr finds all four devices correctly. In the past with NextPVR version 6.x scanning for channels worked very well, but now after I had to re-install my server the NextPVR scan fails (version 7.x). The port 8866 is set correctly.

When scanning the German Full Cable Spectrum (6.900MBd SR, QAM 256) the letters [PAT] [PMT] [SDT] [BAT] do appear from time to time and my Fritzbox GUI in parallel displays that a client is watching a certain TV channel, but none of these channels gets stored by NextPVR - so the list remains empty and NextPVR finally shows "0 channels found".

Attached you'll find the logfiles.

Any ideas?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi,
I recently upgraded my ageing media server to a Raspberry Pi 5 running Libreelec 12.2.1
I have a Triax TSS400 SAT>IP server which I thought I might be able to us, but it does not show up under the 'Devices' section of the web app.

It appears to be found as seen in the logs, but it does not indicate that it is a 4 channel DVBS2 4 receiver device.

I have had this device running under TVHeadend but found that I to specifically tell TVHeadend that it was a DVBS2-4 device.

I have included a status screen from the Triax showing it receiving TVNZ 1, as well as a specification document all included in the logs archive.

I would be really grateful if you can suggest how I might proceed to get it to work with NextPVR?
Please let me know if you need me to provide any further information.

I have the Linux version of NextPVR v7 installed and working, but there are no files or folders in the /var/opt/nextpvr/scripts folder needed for Comskip where I think the file ParallelProcessing.sh should be installed.

Thanks to AI, I have step-by-step instructions from the Internet that I used to install Comskip with (using) my Linux Debian 12 Synaptic Package Manager. I have ATTACHED these instructions for others to use, and comment if they are flawed or inadequate. The Synaptic Package Manager did not throw any errors during the Comskip installation.

I was very careful to be sure all the required dependencies are installed before and after the installation. A sample of the dependencies I found installed on my system hard drive are:
/usr/bin/comskip
/usr/share/doc/comskip
/usr/share/doc/comskip/changelog.Debian.gz
/usr/share/doc/comskip/copyright
/usr/share/man/man1/comskip.1.gz

I've installed NextPVR on Debian Linux (Trixie).
I've also installed the NSShared.ddl (April 2, 2026).
I am using a four port DiSEqC connected to three LNBs (port four is not used).

Port 1: 19.2 Astra 1
Port 2: 28.2 Astra 2
Port 3: 23.5 Astra 3
Port 4: -

When I start Scanning, it seems to be working fine.
When checking the DiSEqC, I can see that it is using Port 1.
NextPVR finds over 600 channels, which is okay for Astra 1.

Then the channelcounter (Channels found ...) starts over. First the count disappears, then it comes back with a low count.
I suppose NextPVR now wants to scan the transponders on Port 2 (Astra 2) of the DiSEqC, however the port on the DiSEqC has not changed!
The LED on port 1 is still emitting light, so DiSEqC has not switched to Port 2.

After over 30 minutes it is still scanning 12168000 kHz and number of channels is stable at 44. Seems like NextPVR is stalled.

With same hardware, Linux and same dvb-driver and Tuner, I have tested this exact same setup with MythTV and TVheadEnd.
Both work fine controlling the the DiSEqC.
I could just use MythTV or TVheadEnd but I prefer to use NextPVR.

Seems like NextPVR does not send the command to switch the DiSEqC port.

Is this a known issue? Is there a solution for this issue ?

Regards.

Regards.
