Pluto TV channels are no longer working with NextPVR, all channels are now displaying two messages in loop in multiple languages.

looking at my recordings, it looks like the error started after 2/25/26 in the AM as my last show that recorded was over at 11:00 AM that day.

from what I've seen it looks like Pluto TV now requires an account to use it this way.

is there anywhere to enter user credentials that I'm missing?

NRSC5 as Extras tuner

I have been experimenting with nrsc5 streams on an extras tuner. When I manually start the tuner to an HD radio station it works great. However, I would like to start the nrsc5 stream, then either pipe it to ffmpeg, or be able to use a wav file created by nrsc5 to stream live when I click on the channel. I'm using it to listen to AM broadcasts that are available on HD radio channels because the AM band reception is terrible where I live, especially in a house. I am using Windows 11 with the latest version of NPVR. Here are the three files I use.

Extras.xml contents:

C:\Users\Public\NPVR-Data\Media4Keeps\KRLD.bat

KRLD.bat contents:
C:\Program Files\NextPVR\Other\ffmpeg -re -i C:\Users\Public\NPVR-Data\Media4Keeps\KRLD.wav -f mp3 -

NRSC5_KRLD.bat contents: (this is the file I use currently to start the stream in wav format)
C:\msys64\mingw64\bin\nrsc5 -o C:\Users\Public\NPVR-Data\Media4Keeps\KRLD.wav 100.3 1

Without manually starting the stream before clicking on the channel, ffmpeg starts and finds no stream.
Please guide me on how I can make this more automated.

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

I had to pull the Extra because a NextPVR user was abusing the addon and PlutoTV terms and conditions and posting the EPG it creates publicly on GitHub. There could be message on the forum that link to the old addon.

extras.xml device using VLC?

I use web app on windows and added IPTV channels with extras xml for each.

One IPTV stream changes url link during commercial break which breaks stream. It happens with ffplay and is not fault of NextPVR. VLC is able to maintain stream, so I wonder if can use VLC to stream into NextPVR. I'm amateur who learned how to make extras xml with ffmpeg from this forum. I've experimented with VLC (see example below) but can't find right arguments to make it work. Does anyone know how?

HDHR-Flex template

I'm trying to get an HDHR EXTRA template to work and having trouble finding a variable to use for the channel number in the line.

This is the bash command...

And this is the EXTRA that I have currently

In the line the {channel} variable shows up as 2 rather than 2.1 in the logs so the stream fails.

Is there a way to get the whole channel number as a variable to make this work?

im trying to get it to use plink.exe to send IR command, but it keeps getting ignored??

ive tried a *.bat file to run the commands sequentially, ive tried & symbol between commands, even tried start /B at beginning of line 1, but no joy.

Getting Pluto extra to work

My wife has decided that she really likes the PBR (Pro bull riding), and most shows are covered exclusively by Pluto Ride pass, so I'm trying to get the Pluto extra working so I can record with NextPVR. I followed Martin's/Sub's instructions here:

Everything seems to install OK and I have the EPG up and running, but when I try to stream anything, I get the dreaded "Steaming failed (transcoder exited)". A quick debug of streamlink gives me this:

$ streamlink https://pluto.tv/live-tv/cnn best
error: No plugin can handle URL: https://pluto.tv/live-tv/cnn

I seem to be missing a plugin of some kind, or has Pluto changed up their streams? Anyone have any ideas how to solve this issue?

I should note that both streamlink and Python3 were already installed on my system, it could be that I have the wrong version

Hello Team,

First post here. I'm formally a HDHomeRun user, and new to the NextPVR world. I've been a Kodi user, because of how simple I can turn an old computer into a device that can do OTA Tv and make it all seem like it's like an expensive set top box. But my HDHR decided it wanted to die. I saw the Tablo devices, and thought it would be cool to upgrade and add DVR functionality (since HDHR seems to have a subscription). Originally doing my research, I thought Tablo had a plugin for Kodi, but I did not dive deep enough into the research it seems. Though I would really like to get my Tablo working. I know that NextPVR is a plugin that looks to work with Kodi, so here I am.

I'm an armature tech person, thought I might be able to figure this out. I have tried installing both Win11 Pro (64bit) and Ubuntu Server 22.04 (using the full install, I tried with minimal and ran into other issues). I downloaded the 'TabloTV-2.0.5.zip', extrated the 4 files, and uploaded it to both systems in the corresponding NextPVR folder location. I seem to be able to get everything installed, get the files copied over, and run the setup. Both boxes are returning that it looks like trying to access the Tablo device returns an "Unauthorized" 401 error:

Am I missing a step? I thought maybe it was my OS, that's why I tried both just to make sure. Now that both are returning thee same thing, I am wondering if maybe my device is too new and/or an updated firmware release is why this is happening. I wanted to check if anyone else has run into any issues? I've been looking at this all weekend. And rebuilt the OSes a couple of times to make sure I was not missing something or made a mistake and got the same results. Hoping for a fresh pair of eyes to point out my mistakes, I can be more detailed of my steps taken to do the installs, but was hoping with the above error someone might know where to go from here.

Or tell me it doesn't work and I have to wait for the Tablo team to push out the app for my Tv. Currently using Bluestacks to install the TabloTv app to get it to work, but it's SOOOO clunky. Plus I'm liking what I see can be done with NextPVR, was hoping to get comfortable and start using it with my setup.

Has anyone been successful getting subtitles to work through the Pluto Extra?
If I watch the show directly from the Pluto website the subtitles are there, if I do it through the extra they don't appear.

Wanting to determine what the expected outcomes should be for the following:

Windows server running combo tablo OTA tuners and iptv (primarily plutoTV) channels

Guide update scheduled for once daily coming from xmltv file

The postloadEPG.bat has this line in it
start /b "" python C:\Users\Public\NPVR-data\scripts\plutotv\pluto.py xmltv-update 90
I've tried that with varying numbers from default to as low as 60 without noticing a difference.

For testing purposes I setup a recurring recording that should record all programs (by guide data) on a Pluto channel. It recorded what was in the guide initially but stopped when that initial guide data ran out. If I manually updated the guide, which I did around 8:30p 1/19, it started recording again. My assumption is that it should reload the guide data every 60 minutes and continue to record matching programs without intervention as it does for the OTA recurring recordings.

I don't know what I should be expecting to see in the logs but am surprised that the npvr.log seems to only have entries up until 12/20. Is that log only used for system updates and the like?

I expect that the automated guide refresh is only for Pluto and not universal to xmlTV/IPTV guide sources. Is that correct?

I created an "extras" file with 5 different channels defined.
If I try to record more than 1 channel at the same time I get an error:
"No tuner is available at the specified time"
Is that normal?

I am working on a project that I will be posting soon. I am wondering if NextPVR can call the output of windows media player as an Extra, and if so how would I go about it?
NextPVR and media player would be running on the same machine.

PlutoTV on Docker install

Hi guys. I've been away for a long while but am making my way back to NPVR. I have NPVR installed via Docker and would like to set up PlutoTV live channels specifically. I see from the sticky thread that a lot of things that need to be done using python and extracting files. I am concerned that a Docker container update will wipe out these settings. Is there a way to get PlutoTV going in Docker install of NPVR?

PlutoTV Extra Commerical Exit freezing

So I installed and got Plutotv working however I am running into an issue of the stream freezing coming out of a commercial. I have read most if not all of the forum pages to realize this is most likely a stream link issue. Has any one found a reliable solution from Streamlink or tips in general? Is there a better version of streamlink to use than the most recent version? is there a different software solution?
