I am using the NextPVR in Finland with live TV, but it seems that when the show is named for example "Family Guy" the metadata will come ok, but if it's "Family Guy (7)", which is the age restriction the metadata will not be available. Almost all the shows in my country have the age restriction in the shows name. Is there a workaround for this issue?
I've never been able to completely cure minor stuttering on some channels due to multiple audio codecs in the graph. I need to have codecs for MPG1 & AC3 enabled for the Oz DVB-T broadcasts, as well as AAC for live cable TV via a Colossus.
A drop down option in the Channel Details window could select the desired audio stream (default, mpg1 , ac3, aac etc) and would mean NPVR would only need to load appropriate one in the graph for live tv. The default setting would mean NPVR would run as usual and load all enabled. I tend to get a drop in CPU usage with only one audio codec loaded, as a happy bonus.
I am trying to install NPVRSetup_3_3_8.exe on a Windows 7 64-Bit system and had a problem during the installation. Part way though, it opens what appears to be a DOS type windows and mentions installing NRecord.
After a few seconds, it produced an error message which I am attaching to this. I tried to zip up the Log folder, but WinZip complained a file was busy and did not complete. I rebooted my system and zipped up the log folder
as requested, but it may not contain all the information.
The entire text of the error message is within the attached text file.
Kodi
HDHomerun Prime
NextDVR backend
NextDVR add-on for Kodi.
I'm having buffering issues ONLY with Kodi's NextDVR addon. I don't have issues with the NextDVR application, windows media center, or HDHomerun Viewer. The video would buffer from 0% to ~13% and play then buffer again a couple seconds later and keeps doing that. I'm not sure why its happening only with the Kodi addon...
To make using the service as smooth as possible with NextPVR, they're wanting to collect information about the DVB channels people are using. At this stage they're particularly interested in Freeview and Freesat in the UK.
To help them out, we'd like to collect a few channel export files. You can create these in NextPVR on the Settings->Devices screen, by selecting your device, then clicking the 'Export Channels' button. This will make an xml file, with tuning information about the channels you've found. Zip this file up, and post it.
I just finished configuring NPVR back on my system and everything seems smooth for the most part but i noticed in Kodi that when i go to certain channels the audio would not be on and the video would stutter. So i tested in the NPVR client and i get that after navigate to different channels randomly (stay on each channel a few seconds) i will eventually loose audio on a channel a change to and when i right click and check audio stream, there is nothing but viedo is playing with no stutter. Here is my logs and config file
I am running Kodi 14.2 and I have 3 IPTV clients. IPTV Simple Client, Stalker Client, and NextPVR Client. NextPVR runs fine under Windows with my WinTV 1600 card. Unfortunately, I have to disable Stalker Client in order to get NextPVR to get the channels to display in Kodi 14.2. Stalker and IPTV seem to coexist under Kodi. I am using Analog Cable.
Having used NPVR for a few months to trial it out and get it ready for my new home, the time has come to move and put a setup together.
Currently:
Single dish, pointing at Sky 28.2E
Single DVBT Aerial.
1x Quad DVBS Card (only 2 ch used)
1x Quad DVBT Card (all 4 ch used)
I have three clients around the house and it's all perfect. I can view DVBT HD and Sky FTA fine - I've also successfully used my viewing card in a reader, but thats' by-the-by.
My next set up will be a lot of more involved, and it's going to an empty house so I want to do it right. Presently, I've thought of:
1.0m dish
Multiconnect 4 LNB holder
4 x LNB (Was thinking of 3x Dual, direct to the PC. 1x Quad with 2 in to Sky box and 2 into the PC)
Satellites will be:
Eurobird @ 9E (Dual)
Hotbird @ 13E (Dual)
Astra1 @ 19.2E (Dual)
Astra2 @ 28.2E (Quad - 2 into NPVR, 2 into STB as a backup).
I'll have 2 x Quad DVBS cards to take the 8 inputs and distribute around.
Each room will have a TV + Kodi over ethernet, 8 rooms in total. Most likely to have 4 instances at anyone time.
People keep telling me I need a multiswitch, but do in this instance?
I seem to having problems with my new hdhomerun 4dc in combination with oscam/newcs (I switched back to newcs today for a new test). At first I thought it was because my cable company changed the settings, but today I found out things are working fine when I use my other tuner (digital devices internal tvcard). In the logs I do the same thing twice. Once with the hdhomerun and once with the digital devices tuner, using the exact same setup with acamd and newcs. The tuner setup has selected Multidec for both tuners with three instances, MDplugin directories are the same. Can someone tell me what the trick is to get this working?
