Hi,
I have setup Next PVR server and i can successfully watch TV fine on the host, but clients cannot stream anything.
I am using the NextPVR addon on the latest Raspberry pi XBMC build. The error I get when i try to stream any channel is "Tuner no longer availabile"
Things I have tried:
2 different Raspberry pi's running XBMC
2 different hosts with NextPVR installed
turn off firewall
Install X-NEWA addon in XBMC (this was suggested as a fix when i googled the issue
I should preface this by saying that I've spent about 3 hours trying to get my HD PVR 2 to change the channels of my Cisco 4642 box (which uses IR). I was unable to even do it in WinTV. There's a BlastCfg.exe from WinTV and I tried to let it automatically scan for the right codeset, tried to choose my cableco from the presets list as well as several similar boxes, let it learn the IR codes from my remote (which, by the way, would fail regularly and would often cause the BlastCfg program to crash). I see all the lights blinking on the blaster and I'm *pretty sure* I know where the IR sensor is on my cable box, but the channels never change.
Admittedly this seems like a Hauppauge issue, but their tech support is closed and I don't think I'll be around the house to call them anytime this week. But I wanted to ask you guys what is required to get the IR blaster to work in NextPVR. There's a HaupBlast.exe file in the installation directory, but there is no setup that I can find. Does this interface with a file that is created / stored via Hauppauge? If so, which one? Is getting a working config in BlastCfg.exe a necessity for the blaster to work in NextPVR? Thanks in advance.
I am running nextPVR as a backend to Kodi. I've enabled timeshifting on the Kodi clients and can now record.
My nextPVR has set MyRecordings to be stored in a shared directory on my server D:\OurMdeia\RecordedTV.
Recording from the Kodi clients place the shows in the right place but, they are not visible in Kodi until I exit Kodi and restart it.
Hello all. I just started using (or at least started setting up) NextPVR with my HD PVR 2 and have run into a few snags. One of them is that when I choose HDMI for the video source and RCA L/R for the audio source, every time I return to the device setup, the audio has been switched back to HDMI audio.
Ideally, I'd love to use HDMI audio and preserve all 5.1 audio, but any time the audio signal momentarily drops out or changes to stereo, the HD PVR 2 kinda freaks out (glitches, stops recording, freezes, etc). Over the past year, I've realized that I get 100% reliable recordings through Hauppauge Capture by using 2-channel RCA audio, so I'd prefer to use this in NextPVR as well.
Any idea if this is a known problem?
The other problem is getting the channels to change via the IR blaster, but I guess I'll have to look into that more because I assume somewhere I need to actually enter in my cable box model number. If there's a quick guide on this for the HD PVR 2, feel free to send a link my way. Thanks.
I am having an issue getting XmltvExtras working. Any help would be appreciated. Below is my setup and the issue.
I am running the latest stable build of NextPVR (3.3.8) on Windows 8.1.
My scripts folder (C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Scripts) contains the following files
- PostProcessing.bat
- PostUpdateEPG.bat
- UpdateEPG.bat
- XmltvExtras.exe
I am calling mc2xml.exe in my UpdateEPG.bat file to pull down EPG data.
My EPG is in the following file: "C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Scripts\EPG\TVGUIDE.xml"
The EPG and the script to pull it down seem to be working fine.
My PostUpdateEPG.bat file contains the following:
cd "C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Scripts"
XmltvExtras.exe>XmltvExtras.log
When my EPG updates the XmltvExtras.log file is created with the following message:
Error connecting to database: TV Listings database not found
Exiting.
I've noticed that when I go into the recordings section I don't get any art for the shows. A few searches showed me that this was an issue into September last year, but then the threads just end. Has this been resolved? If so any thoughts on why I wouldn't be getting them?
I did see that MediaBrowser does get art from NextPVR. So not sure if this is a limitation of the XBMC skin I'm using or the pvr addon.
I'm a newbie trying to install NextPVR on a Win7 64 machine with Ceton InfiniTV4 for digital cable access. The InfiniTV4 works fine with Windows Media Center but NextPVR shows no channels in device setup.
Here is my installation sequence:
NPVRSetup_3_3_8.exe
SageDCT 2.7.2
Run SageDCT, Discovery, Scan, and detected these devices:
Ceton InfiniTV Tuner 1 port 6970

Ceton InfiniTV Tuner 2 port 6979

Ceton InfiniTV Tuner 3 port 6975

Ceton InfiniTV Tuner 4 port 6972

Generate Assignment, save to DCD.txt
Download NetworkRecorder.dll and saved to \Users\Public\NPVR\Plugins\NetworkRecorder
Stop NPVR service using Task Manager
Create NetworkRecorder.xml in \Users\Public\NPVR\Plugins\NetworkRecorder
Edit NetworkRecorder.xml to show four <PluginSettings>, one for each tuner
Start NPVR service
Run NextPVR
Settings..Devices shows four NetworkRecorder devices, all present, enabled, 0 channels

Settings..Channels has no entries in table

Click Update EPG. Get brief "Updating Recording Schedule", but table remains blank
Set up account at SchedulesDirect.org, 7 day trial, select local cable lineup
Edit \Users\Public\NPVR\config.xml to add login info for SchedulesDirect:
<SchedulesDirectUsername>myusername</SchedulesDirectUsername>

<SchedulesDirectPassword>mypassword</SchedulesDirectPassword>
Many restarts, reboots, still unable to populate channels
The Read Before Posting FAQ says "For digital devices of all types, you MUST do a channel scan to find the channels", so I try this:
NextPVR...Settings...Devices
There is no "channel scan" button
double click on the first NetworkRecorder entry brings up ConfigurationForm dialog
click Import to display Import Channel List dialog
With source = XMLTV, OK gives nothing (c:\temp\TVGUIDE.xml does not exist)
Select source = Schedules Direct and click OK
This gives unhandled exception message - no visual style active
continue -- Lineup is Xed out

Still no channels
Attachment npvr.zip contains the log and also the contents of the exception message.
First off I want to say thanks for providing this great software and a place like this to get help with it. I have been running Nextpvr and gbpvr before that for years on an old P4 with a Wintv card for years and it has always worked well for me tuning analog cable to my tablets and htpc via XBMC. Well I have switched to thin clients as my main htpc's and am using one as the NextPVR server now as well. It has a mini pci-e slot in it so I bought a Avermedia A326 mini pci-e tuner card and installed it no problem. I tried testing out the serverwmc program I have read about and it worked but was painfully slow and I could not RDP into the thin client with it running so I went back to NextPVR like I should have done to start with. Well I have everything setup but NextPVR can not find the analog tuner for this card. I followed the steps listed here and I still can not get the analog tuner to come up in the devices list. I know I probably did something wrong along the way so I have come here to ask for help. Also it looks like the ATSC tuner is picking up a ton of channels that are just a black screen? I can tune my local stations in HD that my cable companies puts on the regular cable feed just fine with XBMC so I know NextPVR is working. Any help you guys can provide would be much appreciated.
