Open NEWA in Panel View with all groupings closed?
Posted by: chuck_2330 - 2015-05-17, 10:20 AM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (1)

I use NEWA exclusively to access my NPVR recordings. I use Panel View ordered by Show Name and I have a browser favourite to open this, however the top panel is always expanded. Is there a way of opening Panel View with all panels closed by default?

  X-NEWA pictures blending
Posted by: trummel - 2015-05-16, 07:09 PM - Forum: X-NEWA - Replies (2)

When looking at my picture library with X-NEWA on a Pi, the images seem to blend together everytime a new picture is displayed. If I leave a picture alone for a few seconds, it suddenly clears to just the single image. Actually the first picture to be displayed is blended with the screen background.

I suspect its something in the way the Pi is trying to blend smoothly from one picture to the next, but its taking about 30 seconds to happen and it looks poor. Is this just me, or has anyone else seen it?

It also behaves this way in the Samsung TV Client, which I think is NEWA based, so it could be something on my server. The server itself displays the pictures properly though.

  EPG Update Help
Posted by: NumberFive - 2015-05-15, 06:24 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (28)

Hi,

I've trying to debug some of my EPG update issues. Just wondering if I could get some advice.

My EPG update is scheduled for 4.20 AM. Looking at the logs it starts an update at 4.22 AM, and seems to finish circa 4.28 AM, spending a little bit over 1 minute per multiplex.

The thing is, I have 10 DVB-T/T2 multiplexes (Freeview (UK) and Saorview (Ireland)) that should be scanned, plus some Freesat, and some XMLTV. I appreciate it's not a very standard setup.

Does each multiplex only get scanned once, and allocated to one tuner (in my case, with three DVB-T tuners, 3 muxes are scanned in parallel)?

Regardless of the multiplex, I find that when I use "out of process" recording, the EPG can be left quite patchy. When I disable "out of process" recording, I don't have this problem. However, the "out of process" logs (attached) do seem to indicate a lot of EPG entries are being found.

I'll be upping the EPG scan time to 120 seconds tonight, see if that helps.

Are there other things I should look out for?

Thanks Smile

  Record Button closes EPG Overlay on TV programme
Posted by: NumberFive - 2015-05-15, 12:03 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

Hello,

I've found that when I press the record button on my remote (CTRL+K) when I have the TV guide overlaid on a TV programme I'm watching, it will set the selected programme to record, but closes the TV guide. This behaviour is different to 3.3.8 which would keep the TV guide open, allowing more recordings to be scheduled.

Is there a setting that controls this? I've maybe missed it.

Thanks Smile

  Recording Filenames
Posted by: Quaraxkad - 2015-05-15, 01:12 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

Is there any way to include the channel name or number in the filename of a recording? I know about the PostProcessing scripts, that's not what I'm asking, I already do that. But I don't see any way to either set the desired filename of a recording, OR a way to get that channel information after the recording has been completed. Ideally I would like to be able to customize the filenames for each recurring recording because I don't like the way they are in my local EPG anyway. Is this possible?

  installing tv listings
Posted by: sfreddy - 2015-05-14, 03:09 PM - Forum: TV Listings - Replies (2)

Hi
I am a little confused at to how to install tv listings. The directions i saw said to drag the folder into the nextpvr directory. I tried many different ways of doing so which I saw on the internet but none of them seem to work. I would appreciate clear directions on installing TV Listings as a plugin.
Thanks.

  Problem NPVR compared to DVBLink with DVB-C
Posted by: eurojojo - 2015-05-14, 10:07 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

Hi,

For many years I use NextPVR with Technotrend C-1501 DVB-C cards. I posted about this before on this forum. I worked perfectly.

Until last Sunday. My network provider (KPN) is making changes, which can all be overcome, except some change they made last Sunday. NPVR can not find the channels anymore, except when I run DVBLink after a reboot of the PC. So, DVBLink apparently does something that NPVR does not. DVBLink works every time. NPVR now only after DVBLink. Before I found this I tried everything, installing and removing three generations of drivers, removing the DVB-C-card and putting it back, changing the chipset driver to reset the motherboard. I use Windows 7, 32-bit.

I will explain.

The tuning INI that I made years ago is:
[CABTYPE]
1=Nederland
2=Glashart (that used to be the network name years ago)

[DVB]
0=16
1=C,304000,6875,QAM64,8
2=C,312000,6875,QAM64,8
3=C,320000,6875,QAM64,8
etc.
Currently that does not seem to be enough to find the channels. There are none. And when I want to record with the channels that are in place the tuner can not lock the channel and it records a file of 0 bytes.

Channels look like this:
<Channels Type="DVB-C">
<Channel>
<Name>Ned 1</Name>
<Number>1</Number>
<ServiceType>25</ServiceType>
<tuning>
<type>DVB-C</type>
<locator>
<frequency>368000</frequency>
<bandwidth>8</bandwidth>
<symbol_rate>6875</symbol_rate>
<modulation>QAM64</modulation>
</locator>
<service_id>9101</service_id>
<tsid>9</tsid>
<onid>3300</onid>
<service_type>25</service_type>
</tuning>
<EPGSource>XMLTV</EPGSource>
<epg>
<source>XMLTV</source>
<file>C:\Users\Public\XMLTV\guide.xml</file>
<mapping_id>Ned1</mapping_id>
<mapping_name>Ned 1</mapping_name>
</epg>
</Channel>
When using the DVBLink-software beforehand the channel list is not changed, and the network ID is still 3300.

After the PC needs rebooting for something, I need to go to the DVBLink webinterface, go to source, "Select channel search mode, fast", enter frequency 304000 and speed 6875 and click on "Search networks". It will find "KPN-ITNS WAH (ID: 3300)" and I let it scan for channels. That is enough. After that NPVR can also find channels and record programs without further modification to the configuration.

So, apparently DVBLink does something concerning the network ID on my system that NPVR does not.

When I stop the NPVR service, and restart again, the trick holds. So, I guess DVBLink changes something in the Windows configuration that sticks until reboot. Something NPVR can use.

I saw on the forum other people that mention NPVR can not find channels, but I believe these people encounter this problem when installing and move on to another software if NPVR does not work for them. I am a happy user since GBPVR and DVB user since 2011 with this same setup and only got this trouble last Sunday.

I think it is worthwhile to find the solution, also for those other people. What can I do further to track the key to success? :confused:
