I belatedly updated to the latest version of NextPVR yesterday and today it is recording programmes I have recently watched. I checked the database and the "unique_id" field is blank.
For several years I have been using EPG Collector to extract the "episode-num" broadcast with the EPG data. As the data includes both the "Series_id" and the "Unique_id" of each programme I process the XML file to replace the "series_id" with a "0" so the "unique_id" field in the database is in the form 0:xxxxxxx:0 and this is also the format in the Recently_Deleted table.
Today I added the latest patches and the "unique_id" for some channels appears but in a different format which includes the programme name. The trouble is I have over 1200 recently deleted recordings and almost as many existing recordings so don't want to start again!
Is my best solution to do a clean install of v3.3.9 and import the backup xml files and possibly config.xml? A patch I know I needed is still available!!
I am trying to scan uk cable. I have modified one of the scan files with a known working transponder, but no channels are picked up. I have tried scanning using progdvb which does find channels on the same frequency and card.
I have 2 cards installed a TechnoTrend DVB-C 1500 and DVBSky T9580
Is there any way to use the episode info as the recording's filename rather than the date and a bunch of other numbers? I use NPVR to download sports and usually the info for the game will be really short for example "Eels vs Sea Eagles". This would be perfect for the filename of the recording if it's at all possible.
Thanks !
EDIT** I guess I should let you know that the "episode info" I'm talking about is coming from the mc2xml microsoft EPG.
I've updated npvr.db3 epg_mapping field from my prior install's channel export.xml
Manually selected through the UI the field looks like this:
<epg>
<source>XMLTV</source>
<file>D:\Program Files (x86)\NextPVR\mc2xml\xmltv.xml</file>
<mapping_id>I131.49679992.microsoft.com</mapping_id>
<mapping_name>131 WJBKDT2</mapping_name>
</epg>
My inserted field looks like this
<epg>
<source>XMLTV</source>
<file>D:\Program Files (x86)\NextPVR\mc2xml\xmltv.xml</file>
<mapping_id>I202.28461156.microsoft.com</mapping_id>
<mapping_name>202 WJBKDT</mapping_name>
</epg>
The first one in the channel details screen has the source filled out, the xmltv file field filled, and the mapping dropdown selected the correct value.
The second one, the one I inserted via SQL, Source field is filled out, XMLTV file field has the correct path, and the dropdown is NOT selected. The values are in the dropdown, and I can manually select, but it is blank to start on all of them except the one I manually did via the UI.
Sorry of this is a silly question - but I assume it doesn't play on the NMT?
And that it does play on any Box (Linux, Windows Android?) you can put Kodi on that will connect to the NPVR server?
When setting up a recording in the Kodi NPVR addon it asks for the padding but they are both titled "Pre Padding" one of em should be changed to "Post Padding"

Hi Guys,
just wanted to warn people that my Samsung Evo drive failed after 6 months of use. It fell off a cliff where over a few days things started to hiccup sporadically until one of my programs was completely corrupt. In this case it was my LM remote key map software stopped seeing the blaster. I couldn't even reinstall it because something was majorly broken. NPVR also started to react very slowly.
Anyway then I tried to use the firmware and performance fix which did nothing. Then I tried to restore windows to a previous state and that was even worse. Then I finally tried to reimage and that was when it totally lost it. Something happened where my computer couldn't even boot with the HDD in place. I had to buy a new HDD (kingston SSD) which right now seems to have fixed the problem. In my hurry though I didn't realize it was a sandforce controller which I had problems before with S3 sleep (keeping my fingers crossed though).
I have just installed nPVR 3.3.8 on Win7 SP1 64-bit for use with Kodi 14.1 on Android 4.4.2.
I have an SiliconDust HDHomeRun HDTC-2US tuner with firmware 20141124. This is connected to an antenna and I get about 8 - 12 channels depending on what mood the universe is in. I have been able to watch these channels fine since I set the tuner up at Christmas, using UPnP/DLNA to media players on my TVs.
When I go into nPVR, Devices, I see both of the tuners listed three times: ATSC, QAM and HDHR
No matter which one I select, when I do the channel scan, I get no channels. i.e. The scanning dialog never shows that it finds anything and when I go in Settings/Channels there are no channels listed and when I try to do anything from the main UI that needs a channel, it tells me channels have not been set up.
I have about an hour of experience with nPVR, a few weeks with Kodi and two months with HDHR, so I could be doing anything wrong.
I can connect and watch TV all day long. I can switch channels. When I go from watching a pre-recorded program (I let it finish) and back out to the main menu and go and watch a live TV show, I get the error after about 15-30 seconds of watching the show. I have windows firewall turned off. I do have time shifting enabled in Kodi. I hope I have attached all of the logs you would need. Thanks for your help.
Edit: Tuner no longer available is the message
John
Another interesting point. If I am Watching live TV, stop it then watch a pre- recorded show, stop it or let it finish and go to watch Video>Add-ons and watch something for a moment. I can then go and watch live TV without the error happening.
ive had to rebuild my HTPC and when i try running ntray or nextpvr im getting the following error. there use to be a bunch or pre-reqs listed but i see they are all gone now but for some reason .net doesnt want to play ball.
any ideas?
cheers
