I was tempted to title this thread, "toast always falls jam side down..."
Last night, NPVR just failed to record this show for my wife.
Title=Strictly Come Dancing
Subtitle=Strictly Come Dancing: The Results: Part Two"
Season=12
Episode=9
Unique_id=Strictly Come Dancing-S012E009
and the reason is that the previous evening, we watched and then deleted

bugger.
It just *had* to be the wifes' show and not mine didn't it. So that's multiple months of kudos for reliable recording out of the window then..! I hope you feel my pain.
So it appears that the broadcaster is not sending out unique_id's after all then. I think the idea is that "an episode" of "Strictly" is comprised of the show on saturday evening and then the results show on sunday.
I have disabled avoid duplicate recordings for the time being but I find this feature really useful and am loathe to loose this feature just b/c of this "damn programme".
Any advice on what I can do next?
Would it be feasible to submit a feature request to include the option to generate a unique_id based on title+subtitle+SXXXEYYY?
Hello all. I've run into a problem with NScriptHelper since I've updated NPVR. Now, when it runs to rename my recordings it is inserting the "Genre" instead of the "Subtitle". I've traced the OID in the database and the object in EPG_Event does have a valid subtitle. The "event_details" field in the SCHEDULED_RECORDINGS table also has a subtitle. This is happening to every program I record.
A typical filename update in NScriptHelper is below:
From ScheduleRecordings:

Went to watch some pre-recorded stuff that should have recorded today. There was nothing new in the list, none of todays shows recorded. Tried to watch something live in the guide, got a message that the recording device was not available. Tried Total Media Extreme, and I can watch live TV just fine there. Rebooted the system (Windows 7) noticed that my decoders were switched around in NPVR. Changed them back and now it will play live TV, but the image is messed up and the program locks up too.
My wife tried to watch a DVD earlier today and it was having issues at that time as well. We ended up watching the DVD in PowerDVD.
I had to relocate my system today from one location in the house to another. It did involve unplugging USB tuners and plugging them back in but nothing really serious (or so I thought). Once I get everything back up and running I had some issues with the DiBcom tuner which always gives me some problems with the whole "Dev 1 pathXX" deal. I got it straightened out and it was working fine for live TV so I thought I had it up and running. That was about 4 or 5 hours ago. A few minutes ago I look and see it's not recording a 8pm show and the icon in the tray has a funny looking halo of white dots around it. A check is the NPVR recoding serivce isn't running and I can't start it either from the services.msi or from the shortcut in the NPVR menu. Registering the filters worked fine. Attached are some logs. Hopefully someone will see something I'm missing.
Something has cropped up recently where it will not rename Movies.

Crush

Welcome to the sinful world of the ladies of "Crush." Kate (Andie MacDowell), Janine (Imelda Staunton) and Molly (Anna Chancellor) happily engage in weekly rituals of gin guzzling, cigarette puffing, chocolate chugging and men trashing. They are practically successful women who share one common lament - their love lives - or lack thereof. But when Kate embarks on a romance with a former student (Kenny Doughty), the strength of this female bond is interrupted, resulting in a counterattack.

I am just starting things and have installed the 3.3.8 and am using Windows 8.1 64 bit.
At present I have a problem - similar to others I have seen - but nothing 'modern'
TV live works well until I try and change channels - I never see a buffering warning but if I do not 'stop' things first then the likelihood is the present channel screen will freeze, sound for the wanted channel will appear for a limited period and then will halt with the frozen screen.
If I always 'stop' then change channel always seems OK but without the 'stop' it varies, normally going wrong in some way.
Can anybody cast any light on this - is it a typical problem or what.
Note that appears same even when trying different decoders etc.
One option I will try is the updates to 3.3.8 listed under 'Current patches for NextPVR v3.3.8' - although I have little idea which to implement etc.
I've just installed 3.3.8 for the first time and it won't record to the timeshift buffer. The permissions on the directory are all fine, I've even gone as far as giving Everyone full control. When I try to play a channel, it hangs on '...please wait...'. A new <channelname>.ts file is created in the timeshift directory but no data is written to it.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what to try? I've attached the logs.
I have updated iGL to download fanart from thetvdb and themovie db and save it in NextPVR format in media\show (title.fanart.jpg) This is currently not used in NextPVR but sub serves it to XBMC PVR with his latest Kodi update.
I'm trying to set up web streaming via NEWA. I installed VLC (the 64 bit version as I'm on a 64bit platform), and the paths in the NEWA webinterface look ok. When I click "view live" in the EPG, a new tab opens, but it stays blank.
To start, I'm using Firefox on the same PC as where NextPVR is installed. How do I start finding why it does not work?
