I still have to use V4 as later versions do not support Composite or S Video. I still need these inputs for older hardware. (yes, I regularly transfer old videotape and use an old set top box on this machine
I used V5 for a while using the database from V4, then I had to do a Channel reconfiguration due to "Foxtel" channel changes and it was not possible. I would have had to use V4 to make the changes.
I just went back to using V4 as this machine is only used for recording.
I have another PVR at the other end of my house which uses HDMI to record from its set top box, I am using the latest v6.1.5.231022 and this version is by far the best NPVR yet.
When I do a manual record from the web app, regardless of which directory I choose in the setup, the recording is found in C:\Manual Recordings directory.
Is that a bug or am I missing something?
I am not getting any audio when I either watch or record from IPTV for SkyOpen, what is more when I look at the properties of the recording in mpc there is no audio track in the video at all.
What I have been noticing is there are probably as many wishlist items now as problem reports which indicates a level of maturity I don't recall. Since sub doesn't have a big defect list I thought I'd give a couple of thoughts after viewing a new STB at my father's on Thursday.
1. Previous channel. Rather then just the one key hoping back and forth. I'd like to see a stack of the previously watched channels with a GUI. When I am watching football on Sunday there can be 4 games on. I could live with a virtual "Last Watched" channel group but a hotkey would be useful and focus on the second item on the stack would be like previous channel. It also gets rid of the annoyance when the previous channel isn't what you expect. I don't think the stack should be too big since it still needs to be quick to process.
2. Catchup TV. Although IPTV services might offer it, the new generation STB's can also provide this. For anyone using a blaster, it would just be as easy as sending some extra keystrokes after a channel change. The pseudo code I see for an Extra and HDPVR with catchup enabled for the device would be
- tune channel
- trigger a new script for catchup purposes
- start a manual recording for the current show with the full duration of the new show, with a "real" EPG based filename.
- update the manual recording info with the EPG data.
Steps 1 and 2 could be modified at a later data for IPTV.
Good day.
I’m a new user of NextPVR in Windows.
I’ve managed to successfully install the software. Recordings and playback are fine.
I would like to see more of the metadata for my recordings and EPG.
I use Schedules Direct and I know there is more metadata like actors, producers, directors…
I do not see such information in the clients.
Is such information supported?
Hello, I am trying to use a WinTV-quadHD with NextPVR on a ubuntu vm using the .deb installer but NextPVR doesn't see the device.
How do I pass the device to NextPVR when using the .deb installer?
Also when running NextPVR with docker I get this error: 2023-11-04 09:39:51.987 [ERROR][1] ERROR: Open frontend0 failed
ERROR: Open frontend0 failed
ERROR: Open frontend0 failed
ERROR: Open frontend0 failed
The WinTV-quadHD works in tvheadend but I'd much rather use NextPVR.
I've recently encountered an issue with casting NextPVR content from my Apple devices to a Chromecast Ultra. Despite trying various troubleshooting steps, I'm unable to establish a stable connection. It is used to access the Wireless LAN adapter settings and perform various functions, including changing network name and password, configuring https://19216801.pro/ internal network security settings, setting up port forwarding, managing devices on the network connection, and updating firmware and software. Has anyone else experienced this problem, and if so, what steps did you take to resolve it? I'd greatly appreciate any insights or suggestions to get this working smoothly.
In both the web and stand-alone client EPG's, some channel icons are barely visible as they are black and shown on a near black background (a bit like the control panel of a spaceship described in the Hitch-Hikers Guide to the Galaxy).
Is there some way to detect if an icon image is black, the set the background to a lighter colour? Alternatively, perhaps a simple tweak of the EPG channel list colour scheme?
