A couple of irritating trends in programme titles in the UK making recurring recordings much more difficult.
1) Several channels have started adding "NEW:" at the start of the title so existing recurring recordings will ignore it. As my EPG is created from an XMLTV created by EPG collector I have the option to process the file to remove the word from the start of any title before loading it into NextPVR.
2) Some channels mainly the BBC I think for some programmes use the title format "Sub Title:Title". So creating an ordinary "Recurring Recording" wont work so you would have to make a Manual Recording with "title like %Title". The NextPVR "Search" and "Find All" wont find others in the series.
Iâm very new to NextPVR. I installed the software on Windows 8.1 Pro 64 Bit without any problem. But every time I start to scan for channels the NPVR quits. And there are no lines in the log file. BTW I have a TBS 6618 tuner card.
I tried with Windows 7 Pro as well â same result.
What to do?
Very new at this. I got an ATI wonder card to work once, then nPVR tells me it can't find the device. It has never worked again. No sound, no picture. Is this a problem with this card? It's an old one. Any help would be appreciated.
Just discovered that the card was somehow uninstalled. I don't know if nPVR did that, but I have several years of using windows media center without a single hitch.
Hey guys. I'm having an issue where I cannot "jump" forward/backward reliably within XBMC. I am referring to the jumps when you press right/left on the remote and not >> or >>| . When I press right/left, the time advanced or may even go backward at odd intervals. This is only for some recordings. Unfortunately I have not tried this in the native nPVR gui and have deleted the last recording that this happened with before thinking of trying it in the nPVR player.
I have the same problem with multiple XBMC clients (GBox MX2 and RPI running openelec). I am running XBMC Gotham Beta 3 on both XBMC clients though I'm pretty sure this issue occurred with Frodo as well. I am running nPVR 3.1.1 and using sub's pvr addon on XBMC.
Any advice is greatly appreciated. I am attaching logs in the hopes someone can spot an issue. Search the logs for the program 'The Profit' to see the odd jumps. Thanks for the help.
I just purchased and a new Samsung Galaxy S5 handset and installed the current version of nDroid via the Google Play Store.
The app loads fine and on first load it prompts for server config details which once setup the app successfully connects and retrieves the data fine.however, as Google / Samsung have remapped the menu button to a recently opened apps list function there is now no way to get back into the menu of nDroid.
Could you please have a look into this for the next update of nDroid? Thanks
I've been using the IPTV device to open streams offered by my VU+ satellite box.
This works really well in general, except that when I stop playback in NPVR, the stream doesn't stop, and a tuner continues to be occupied on the satellite box.
If I restart the NPVR recording service, the stream stops and all tuners are available again.
If I open the same stream in VLC, the stream from the satellite box stops as soon as I press stop.
Can someone explain to me the major difference(s) between AMD's FM1 and FM2 cpu's? If I were t build a high performance htpc, which of those should I go for? (No don't even suggest Intel...)
So, I'm transcoding my .ts recordings to .mp4 and noticed that the .ts native recordings are actually quite efficient. Right now I'm reducing my recordings to 900 kbs in mp4 format using the normal profile in handbrakecli and it's doing a decent job. I've got an I7 with 12 GB of RAM and it transcodes 1 hr show in half an hour. The resulting file is 600 MB from 1500 MB for a 1 hr recording.
After all the work on figuring out handbrakecli, I came to wonder if I could just reduce the bit rate of the native recording and still have good picture. I only have 32" LCD so I'm not too picky. Also, I'm recording HD channels through component but not all my recordings are in HD. Is there a way to do this in the config.xml file of npvr?
On Sunday, NextPVR 3.1.1 was working just fine during the day. Later that evening, whenever I tried to run it I got this in the Windows application event log:
I get the same error when trying to restart the recording service, only the application name changes. What is strange is that my PVR has been fine for months and absolutely nothing has been installed or changed. Even Windows update has to be run manually.
I have tried:
Re-installing dot NET 4.5.1 (repair option)
Upgrading to NPVR 3.2.9
Removing dot NET altogether and reinstalling
Googling "faulting module clr.dll" only to find any hotfixes relate to earlier versions than I have installed
Any and all Windows Updates
I would send NPVR logs, but it's not getting far enough to create them. I'm at my wits end. This is the first GBPVR/NPVR problem I haven't been able to fix in years. Any help would be gratefully received.
