Multiple instances of NPVR - what happened to it?
Posted by: vfrvulcan - 2011-07-15, 10:07 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (10)

When NPVR was in beta I was able to fire up multiple instances of it and watch more than one channel - much like a picture-in-picture but separate windows spread over multiple monitors.

Now, whatever I do I cannot fire-up a second or third instance of the NPVR frontend. Is there a tweak to re-enable this?

Earlier screenshot attached for example.

So how do people watch, uh, otherwise aquired tv shows....

Basically I was importing them into the recordings plugin, which I may stop doing.

But how do others do it? Do you use the Video library? And how do you keep track of what you have watched and what you haven't. I guess if you follow a show every week it's not so bad, but I'd tend to get a bunch, watch them, get a bunch more, but not actually watch for say 2 months...so I never remember what I'm up to.

Just want to see what others do, and is it just because I have a stupid viewing style, and an appalling memory...

  Focus
Posted by: imilne - 2011-07-15, 03:36 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (6)

The System plugin contains a screen with both a UiButtonList and a UiList. The buttons are to the left-hand side of the list (see image).

Either by design (or more likely luck), when the focus is on the buttons and user presses "Right", the focus moves to the list.

But when the list is empty of elements, I hide it from display, and restore the plugin's default view which is a custom rendering of drive-space remaining. The trouble is the hidden list still holds focus, so I'd like to return it to the buttons automatically - can this be done?

You can still get focus back by pressing "Left" but that's not particularly user-friendly.

Thanks

Iain

  2.1.5 - NPVR crashes
Posted by: Nistrod - 2011-07-15, 08:32 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

I am browsing Videos, which includes a number of TS files.
When I get to a particular folder "Secret War on Terror", NPVR crashes. Just disappears.
Logs are attached, but dont show any errors.

  Back & Forward Skip Buttons?

Are these available for the current build or might they be planned for a future build? I really miss these from GBPVR when playing back recordings.

  PostUpdateEPG doesn't run
Posted by: ShiningDragon - 2011-07-15, 01:51 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (12)

I have a comparable problem: PostUpdateEPG.bat just does not fire up. Whether on the planned UpdateEPG time ( 06 am ) nor if i initiate a manual UpdateEPG. My system is Windows 7 64-Bit. The batch file just contains a "xmltvextras.com" which lies within the scripts folder too.
If i remember right, PostUpdateEPG.bat was never started on any npvr version on my system, so that i workarounded it via the taskscheduler.

PostProcessing.bat on the other side is no problem, this one starts without any problem (as i can see in my nrecord.log).

  PostProcessing.bat doesn't run
Posted by: wscrivens - 2011-07-14, 11:40 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (23)

I recently added a new system drive to my PVR, and now it is configured with NPVR located in
E:\Program Files\NPVR.

That all works fine (the Recordings directory, etc set up in "Settings") but PostProcessing.bat never runs.

I've tried it in C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Scripts, as well as in E:\Users\Public\NPVR\Scripts. The first line of the batch file writes to a log file, which never happens, so it's not a comskip issue.

What am I missing? Some configurations item?

@ mvallevand did you cook up something here? Where would I find it? Is it open source?

cheers

Anyway to change the order of the list? Dragging items would be cool so they are in the order I want them to be!
