Had tuner problems, many failed recordings
Posted by: bass_gas - 2025-12-31, 04:37 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (5)

How do I remove the many failed recordings, without doing one at a time, because of a downed tuner. I've been to Programs folder and Public folder looking for some sort of file without any luck or I don't know what I am looking for.

  Issues recording video
Posted by: gsalva - 2025-12-31, 11:23 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (10)

Hello,

I've been recording a lot of videos since the last 5 years with the same device, same antenna, etc.

Lately, perhaps since the last 2 NextPVR updates I've been facing this kind of issues, please see the video attached here https://mega.nz/file/7fgkVTyL#Fb00yXevC_...jdmdZBNC9A

I have the same issue in several channels, if I see the same channel directly on my TV, there's no issues such as the one recorded by NextPVR.

I need help please, here's the log for that video I attached:

[Wishlist] Customisable timer default in Kodi
Posted by: hmc - 2025-12-31, 10:22 AM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (5)

In Kodi, if I select a show via the TV Guide and then select Add Timer, the dialog has the timer type as Recording: Repeating (guide) by default.

I can't see any way to change this behaviour in the NextPVR add-on settings, so is it possible to add an option to set an alternative default? For my use case, I'd prefer Recording: one time (guide) to be the default.

Thanks

A Record isn't played on web UI and only shuttering on desktop UI
Posted by: E.W. - 2025-12-29, 01:42 PM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (12)

A Record isn't played on web UI and only shuttering on desktop UI.
Moreover none of the UI's allow fast forward/backwards scrolling or any handling of the recorded file at all.
Any clue?
Logfiles should be attached

  NEW PC - No TV
Posted by: bass_gas - 2025-12-25, 08:38 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (2)

New PC W11. Updated all devices and channels. When I click NPVR client I get the TV guide and then when I click on a channel I get a screen with a big RED X and "Unhandled  exception has occurred ......". When I use NPVR web app and click on a channel I get error message "Failed to start requested stream".

  Second Hauppauge quadHD firmware problem
Posted by: bgowland - 2025-12-21, 04:52 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (4)

I bought another WinTV-quadHD for my Debian 12 box. It's recognised and NextPVR can see it but I'm getting errors for one particular firmware file...

Code:
[  22.518137] si2157 38-0060: firmware: failed to load dvb_driver_si2157_rom50.fw (-2)

What's really annoying  is I can't find it anywhere for download and the first card doesn't need it - that's another annoying thing - both cards have identical labels on them showing "DVB-T/T2/C 178100 LF" BUT the one I bought back in April/May is "Rev A416" and the one I bought a couple of weeks ago is "Rev A316" which I'm assuming is older, If I can only find that file I might be able to get things working.

Cheers,
Brian

Bug Failing to record - pipe stuck open?
Posted by: akiller - 2025-12-19, 08:16 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (4)

Hi,

For the past few months I've been having an issue where NextPVR fails to record. I suspect it may be hardware or signal related rather than a NextPVR bug, but I'm hoping someone can help point me in the right direction.

It looks like the tuner is getting locked up. All recordings fail (resulting in 0KB files), I can’t watch live TV, the EPG update fails, and the NextPVR tray app shows a large number of open pipes (the number varies).

The only way to recover seems to be physically unplugging and re-inserting the tuner (Hauppauge WinTV-dualHD DVB) and restarting the NextPVR service.

I think this is happening after the PC sleeps and wakes up, although I’ve been using NextPVR since the GB-PVR days and have always used sleep/suspend without issues until recently.

I’ve attached the logs. (disclaimer: someone else scheduled most of these recordings Smile )

Thanks

  Keyboard Reference
Posted by: Joram - 2025-12-19, 05:34 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (2)

Been reviewing the Keyboard Reference chart on this wiki page and I have a question:

In the LiveTV section, Remote Control column, most of the items are self-explanatory. However, the items for Up Channel, Down Channel, and Watch Channel all have the notation "(Now and Next Popup)" after them. What does that mean?

Getting error when going to http://localhost:8866/index.html
Posted by: gsurman - 2025-12-19, 05:32 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (5)

[size=1]Server Error in '/' Application.[/size]
When going to the web apphttp://localhost:8866/index.html I get this message. Also in the deskstop app there are no listings on the TV guide. I use schedules direct, windows 10 and tried disabling AVG security, I also updated the NextPVR app. It is still recording my programs I have scheduled but cannot get any TV Guide listings.

NextPVR Client -Windows GUI (NextPVR.exe) - CC setting questions
Posted by: acadng - 2025-12-19, 02:37 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (2)

Hello Sub,

There are many "flavors" of clients out there and I have tried them all in Linux and Windows. Everyone has their "flavor." For me, I LIKE the Windows NextPVR client...please note that I am not using or referring to the browser GUI.

The Windows NextPVR client is working very well for me. I like its straightforward structure and simplicity for my OTA live TV viewing and recordings. I have no need to use any other server and client. Now; currently I am using NextPVR version 7.0.2.250621 on Windows 10 21H2 build 19044.

Have have NO errors or complications. Therefore, no need to include log files. All is operational.

I have have also completed the NextPVR key mapping to a TV remote using Flirc. That combination is working quite well with the Windows NextPVR client. I even have a key assigned with {CTRL}X to turn on/off Closed Captions (CC). That is working very well too.

As with few other members I need hearing aids but there are times I like to use CC. CC displays ok when it is enabled except the font is a little pixelly even with 40" 1080P TV.
CC is operating well...no errors while operating within the NextPVR Windows clien

Prior to this post I have spent many hours searching, reading the forum(s) & other resources trying to find any subject matter that provides an answer to my questions regarding "control" of CC's "appearance while watching Live TV. I don't have any problems in using it.

What I need to know is how to "control" some fundamental characteristics of CC.

Windows "Ease of Access" & associated CC controls HAVE NO bearing on NextPVR client. Please note that "Teletext" settings in Config.xml has no impact as well. I figured it would not but had to try.

I am in USA.

My questions are: [if...then..else process Smile ]

1st...the most important question...is it possible?
If it is not, then the remaining questions then thank you for providing an answer.

If so, could you direct me to as how & where....

Change the font size, color, type?
Change background color?
Change transparency?

Change Location on TV screen? ....i.e:
--Upper center, left, right
--Middle center, left, right
--Bottom center, left, right.

Sub, if can provide any insight, I would greatly appreciate it.
