  MUX List problems
Posted by: Dawladin - 2025-04-16, 06:47 AM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (2)

Hello NextPVR

Firstly thank you for creating this software and distributing it for free!

I have a problem - I am current setting up the system but I have only found half of the channels.
In order to solve it I installed W-scan created a MUX list and converted it into your file format.
- The only problem is that it does not show up in the menu in the web UI.

I then found that the list of files in the tuning folder does not match the available MUX lists in the web UI.
- See attached photos.

Is there another place rather than /opt/nextpvr/system/data/tuning/ where these MUX lists are placed?
Is there a configuration file where you have to allow for more files?

I hope that my post is clear and understandable and I look forward to your reply!
- In advance thanks for your time.

Kindest regards
Michael Steffensen

  Motherboard with PCI slots available?
Posted by: bgowland - 2025-04-15, 04:24 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (2)

Are there any mobos available which have "old school" PCI slots as well as PCIe?

I'm building a new npvr server but I can't seem to find any current models - they're all PCIe only.

Cheers,
Brian

  No data received
Posted by: jcole998 - 2025-04-15, 02:50 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

I've recently seen problems with no data being received for a scheduled recording and don't understand why. The log shows the scheduled recording starting up but then shows a No data received message and the recording file is virtually empty even though the device LED show an active tuner. This has happened twice in two days.

The recordings, one for MTV and other other for CMT, are shown in the log file at 2025-04-13 06:00:00.279 and 2025-04-15 06:59:00.208 respectively. The only troubling thing I noticed was the mention of IP address 192.168.1.159 as the device address. The HDHomeRun device is at IP address 192.168.1.160.

I can watch live TV normally for these channls.

I'm stumped and would appreciate some expert help.

Thanks...JohnC

  Freeview in New Zealand
Posted by: arrbee99 - 2025-04-15, 01:17 AM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (19)

With the replacement satellite for NZ, should NextPVR pick it up OK. Its been suggested (in Geekzone) that I should add ' this new transponder 12530H SR 3000'. Any thoughts please ?

  Streaming 4K
Posted by: Marvi - 2025-04-14, 03:04 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (1)

Hello everyone, I need help regarding the 4K resolution of NextPVR. In Italy the national state TV (Rai) streams a channel in 4K HDR in demo version. By inserting the url .m3u8
in the NextPVR channels the viewing of the channel is not fluid.. but very jerky and often freezes, while using the same url in Iptv simple client of Kodi the channel is seen regularly, I would prefer to use NextPVR because it allows recording, but this way it is unusable.
P.S. I use NextPVR as a backend and Kodi as a frontend.
I attach the logs.

  Uraycoder HDMI Encoder Extra
Posted by: gobo - 2025-04-13, 07:20 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (17)

Hey guys

I usually don't like to ask for help and just scour the forums etc so I can learn how things work. This has me pulling my hair out. So with my tail between my legs, I need help. Smile

I am trying to setup a Uraycoder HDMI network encoder (URay UHE265-1L) for use in NextPVR. I was using two Colossus 1 cards but they were never 100% stable.

It all seems pretty straight forward but my extras-Uraycoder1.xml for it just doesn't work. After many variations, I tested it one time and it seemed to work perfectly, it played video of the channel, blasted the blaster and displayed the correct guide info.  Was happy, took a break, came back later and it didn't work again. (maybe some remnant of the previous tries lingered somehow) because I didn't change a thing. I tried it on another machine to verify. I tested playback with http://192.168.1.168/0.ts in VLC and Potplayer and it plays video fine every time.

It  looks like the  the extras-Uraycoder1.xml is not running the uraycoder1.bat file. So here what drove me over the edge.

To test if the .bat file was being run I replaced the line in the extras-Uraycoder1.xml with "<Program>C:\windows\system32\notepad.exe</Program>" *no quotes*.

I started and stopped the NextPVR server and deleted and re-added the extra for the 100th time. When I tuned the channel (in the client) I expected a notepad window to open but it didn't. I decided to try the NPVR web app and it actually tuned the channel!!, also not running notepad. With the web app still open I tried the client and it played the video in there too. I tried the client again without the web app and it failed.

I'm no expert with command lines and xml files but it's probably something stupid I'm doing that's right in front of me.

Here is my current extras-Uraycoder1.xml :

<extras>
<channel name="{channel-name}">
    <command>cmd</command>
    <args>/c C:\Users\Public\NPVR-data\scripts\uraycoder1.bat {channel}</args>
</channel>
</extras>

and the Uraycoder1.bat:

@echo off

c:\Users\Public\NPVR-data\scripts\USBUIRTSend.exe samsung %channel%

curl.exe -s http://192.168.1.168/0.ts

Thanks for any help. (it would be so appreciated)

  Linux Command Line To Initiate SchedulesDirect EPG Update
Posted by: LinuxDVR - 2025-04-13, 06:12 PM - Forum: Linux - Replies (1)

Could you provide a linux shell command line that would initiate an EPG update within the running NextPVR service, essentially the same as requesting an EPG Update through the admin browser interface Settings / About / Update EPG button. If there isn't a direct way to request EPG Update through the NextPVR service ports or API, can you create a shell command line that submits a properly formatted html request to the service just as the admin browser ultimately does.

In certain situations I need to programmatically update the EPG without human intervention separate from the Scheduled updates within the NextPVR admin options.

Separately, the SchedulesDirect auth Token survives the NextPVR service being restarted and gets reused until it expires at SchedulesDirect, how/where is this stored by NextPVR and can you provide a command line that clears out the SD token, wherever it is being preserved in the system files/memory.

Thanks for your assistance.

  comskip parallel processing not updating skips in Kodi
Posted by: Deihmos - 2025-04-13, 04:03 AM - Forum: Add-ons (3rd party plugins, utilities and skins) - Replies (1)

I have setup Coskip to parallel scan live-tv and create the skips while the record is processing. One limitation I have seen is Kodi does not update the skip points after the playback started. I changed the setting in Nextpvr Kodi client settings to 5 minutes for update intervals but nothing changed. Is there no way to get Kodi to update the skip points while viewing a recording in progress?

  Devices unavailable WebUI settings
Posted by: bgowland - 2025-04-12, 11:36 PM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (5)

On the Devices page all tuners show as unavailable but I'm able to scan for channels on each dvb-t tuner separately and they all find the same set of channels sp that bit is working.

I cleared all channels from all devices and scanned just adapter0 dvb-t, saved the channels then selected each of the others and copied the channels over. If I go to the Channels page in WebUI and try to watch a channel I get an error saying "No tuner was available for the selected channel".

So why the "unavailable" on the devices page? Is that likely to be why watching live tv fails? Also when I try to update EPG nothing happens.

Cheers,
Brian

  NextPvr Instance Unresponsive
Posted by: itsnotjeff - 2025-04-12, 08:12 PM - Forum: Docker amd64 - Replies (8)

Sometimes, my instance of NPVR will become unresponsive. I cannot access the web UI and data is not sent to my Kodi boxes. When I go to stop NPVR in portainer, it will stop with error 137, indicating it needed to be terminated as opposed to a normal exit. This happens for a few days at a time, then everything works again, then randomly it will happen again. Kind of leads me to believe the issue is with my provider, but I'd like to verify.

When this happens, I am unable to pull logs to look at them. When I restart the instance, the log files do not show anything prior to starting NPVR that time.

I run docker via portainer on an Ubuntu server and can pull backend logs if you can tell me where they are (assuming they exist).
