  Adding a channel
Posted by: arrbee99 - 2025-12-17, 09:39 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (22)

Someone mentioned that TV3 in NZ is now broadcast in HD via satellite, so I thought I'd tune it in...

I have a dual TBS6902 tuner so I went to tuner one, set the satellite (eventually found the right one), it tuned and I kept two copies of what I hope are TV3 HD, channel numbers 36 and 48. It asked to update the guide. It did not ask to copy new stuff over to tuner 2. I therefore tuned tuner 2 in (I hope) the same way. This time it found TV3 twice, but with channel numbers 64 and 76. I updated the epg. Now I have 4 TV3 HD channels (I think) with 4 channel numbers with two on DVB tuner 1 and two on DVB tuner 2.

Is there an obvious way to combine two of these channels onto both tuners so that, say 36 and 48 are on both tuners 1 and 2 ?

  Intermittent EPG update failure
Posted by: turndave - 2025-12-17, 06:44 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (8)

From time to time, the EPG fails to update.  I mostly use Schedules Direct, but have a few channels I use  8VSB for EPG source.  I have two HDHR3-US tuners and two HDHR5-2US tuners.  Using Windows 10 with the current version of NextPVR.  When the problem is occurring, the guide update process quickly retrieves the Schedules Direct data and then stalls before getting the 8VSB data.  If I look at the "NextPVR Backend Status", only one of the tuners is shown as active, but it has a strange looking entry (see attached screenshot).  If I restart the NextPVR service, this strange entry is no longer there and EPG updates work fine... for now.

Attached also are the logs.

Dave

  Device doesn't always start
Posted by: simonhenry700 - 2025-12-17, 12:44 PM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (11)

I have NextPVR installed on a Raspberry Pi5, with the latest OS (Trixie) and a Hauppauge dual tuner USB stick.

While NextPVR works most of the time, occasionally when trying to watch a programme remotely via the web interface, it fails with the message "Streaming Failed (transcoder exited)" after about 15 seconds of "Starting Device. Please Wait...". Also, sometimes a scheduled recording will fail, presumably for the same reason.

Re-booting the Raspberry PI always results in normal service being resumed. The Raspberry Pi is not being used for any other purpose.

I've attached log files from the most recent failure; any insight you can provide would be most appreciated Smile .

Simon

Can only record 2 channels with quad tuner
Posted by: PhantomUser - 2025-12-16, 09:03 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (14)

I upgraded/installed a new quad tuner (hauppauge 1609).  I also upgraded to NextPVR 7.0.3 on my windows 10 PC.  I am using Kodi 21.1 client.  I cannot record more than 2 channels at one time.  The TV guide on NextPVR and the guide on Kodi will allow me to schedule programs on 3 channels, but only 2 channels actually get recorded.

  Fast Forward-Backwards Still Not Working
Posted by: suezew - 2025-12-14, 06:49 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

I have spent HOURS UPON HOURS uninstalling, reinstalling over and over, trying different things.  NOTHING  has worked on ANY of the three televisions.  I don't believe I am the only one this is happening to.  I jumps all the way to the end of the program.  How do I go back to a previous version before this nightmare started?

  Roku v15 video playback issues.
Posted by: mvallevand - 2025-12-14, 05:40 PM - Forum: Roku - No Replies

Further to issues reported in this thread https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=66717 after upgrading to v15 of the Roku OS video playback on the NextPVR channel cause an error starts because the needed API call for closed captions has been removed. It is has been deprecated for a long time so this is not unexpected.

To avoid this issue you need to turn off closed captions in general Roku Settings->Accessibility->Captions mode.  I will play a bit to see if there is anyway to enable closed captioning but I am not hopeful.

  unknown Roku app crash
Posted by: spagio - 2025-12-13, 03:02 PM - Forum: Other Clients - Replies (4)

(not sure if this is the correct forum)

I start a program in the Roku app then I am kicked to the home screen after a couple seconds.

I cannot see anything obvious in the logs.

Playing the same program from the web UI works fine.

Direct Play: false

  AUDIO PROBLEM - Web app
Posted by: JohnMark - 2025-12-08, 02:39 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (2)

Running windows 11 with AugustTV usb dongle tuner DVB-TV T210.
With NextPVR Version: 7.0.3.250920  I can stream TV channels on Web app or desktop app. All work fine with clear audio.

However, with the Webapp (runs as a tab in MS Edge) after about 14minutes the audio is suddenly changed becoming grossly distorted (like a voice distorter; low pitch audio almost un-recognisable). This fault occurs regardless which TV channel is selected. The problem resolves if channel is reselected and a new stream starts.
LAV audio decoder is used by the desktop app; not certain how to establish what the web app uses.
Any ideas as to how to trace/resolve the issue?

  EPG Update failing.
Posted by: bigstusexy - 2025-12-06, 04:38 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (7)

Hello,

I have looked around and saw a few other threads but they didn't seem to apply to me, excuse me if I'm wrong. I do have ATSC tuners but no channels on them and I don't really care about them, reading the logs I'm not sure if they're causing issues like one thread.

I think it might have started right after I updated to  Version: 7.0.3.250920

I have restarted the service, after pulling logs so they would have info. I'm sure the logs would tell but as far as I can tell my account is in good standing.

Since it's not ATSC for the EPG source I didn't think trying that nshared update I saw suggested in a thread applied to me.

Thank you for your help.
