I just installed NextPVR on my headless Debian (Trixie) server and it seemed to be working fine after getting permissions set. I think added my IPTV list. It seemed to work fine though it only imported guide data until around 4pm. Since then I can't get it to retrieve any more guide data. I've hit update EPG several times but nothing past 4pm.
I sent my logs to Sub per the many message I found searching this forum but I was wondering if this was common and if someone had a simple fix.
I have added the info which I “think” should find them to a scan list.
When ‘asking’ one of my DVBS devices - both Hauppauge WinTV-Nova-S2 01676 USB TV Tuner HD Digital Satellite (Montage Technology M88DS3103) units to scan channels I get a momentary >>>scanning 1130500 followed by the next frequency on my this but no new stations.
Log files attached + the scan table I created + image of blind scan dome by friend on his system, which confirms the presence of Channel 5 and Astra 28.2F
In my NextPVR browser window I note the alert: Version: 7.0.1.241229 (7.0.3.250920 is available for download).
Does this version come with more recent scan list(s) I am unable to install (no instructions that I can find on the net)
Joined the forum today, after doing a donation to get the "channels.xmltv" output enabled.
I've lurked around for a while & it took a WHILE to find the very well hidden, (at least to me), detail regarding THAT.
Anyway, after a fair amount of struggling, I've got data spooling from my NextPVR install, (Windows box running it, started with Docker, struggled with various things, wound up getting Windows to work before Docker, so that's where I'm staying for now), to Jellyfin, (I'm NOT asking for Jellyfin help, atm - I do also have the android NextPVR client).
The challenge I'm facing now is that the "channels.xmltv" method of guide data export from NextPVR seems to only pull the first/primary set of guide data. I freely admit that I may be mistaken or that some component of what I'm doing may be abnormal, of course.
Due to some inconsistency in retrieval of guide data, I have a second, scripted, local .xml source defined in NextPVR which works fine within the application, but I'd like to be able to export the two separate .xml inputs from NextPVR as a single output to the "channels.xmltv" configuration. {I even tinkered a bit & got my local scripted source to present via NextPVR, but that was just some stumbling around in directory structure to present a hard link from the wwwroot of NextPVR install to the scripted .xml.}
Anyway, I did some searching but since the "channels.xmltv" proved to be challenging to find initially, you might imagine that I've struggled to determine if this is even possible or practical.
Would appreciate any input the NextPVR wizards can provide.
Started using NextPVR a long time ago, indeed I've had it running successfully as a server on Windows with a LibreElec Kodi client for over ten years now. I recently took the plunge to update the Windows 10 version of NextPVR from 4.2.5 to the latest 7.0.3 (250920), but struggling to complete the upgrade.
Device: Hauppauge WinTV-DualHD (a device scan shows two DVB-T tuners, IPTV and two DVBC tuners)
Using Hauppauge WinTV 8.5 confirms the device is running fine and I can scan, see and record all channels using this software.
Using NextPVR 4.2.5 confirms the device is running fine and I can scan, see and record all channels same as WinTV. The Kodi client connects successfully to the 4.2.5 NPVR server and does its thing fine.
After uninstalling 4.2.5 using its uninstall program, I install 7.0.3. and can see the Hauppauge device.
When I try a channel scan it fails to discover any channels on either of the two DVB-T tuners on the device.
I've tried scans with "All Countries / All Regions" and also my local "Australia / Hobart" location. I've tried with the HauppaugeTVServer service disabled and enabled.
Log file sequence numbers and date/time stamps indicate possible overwrites from different install attempts(???), however they do show the device is regognised and channel scanns attempted. They also show the client is attempting to connect with the server which hasn't been set up yet - probably not a good thing.
If I revert to NextPVR 4.2.5 it works fine and this is my fallback position however its a bit defeatist and I'd like to understand what I'm doing wrong.
I'm trying to get next PVR to use some lava codecs installed on my Pc. All I'm reading over and over and over again is people talking about "the drop down menu in nextpvr settings". I cannot find any setting relating to either video or audio codec options anywhere on next PVR. Where is this 'drop down menu' in settings? Thanks very much
Just re-imaged my PC with a clean windows install. Did a clean install of NPVR v7.0.3.250920. I noticed it was released today. Installer failed to create the NPVRdata folder in C:\users\public\npvr data.
I cannot connect to the server web page or npvr.exe at all so there are no logs to send you. The folder in C:\Program files\NextPVR looks like it installed OK, but no data folder.
AllI see is a grayed out icon in the system tray.
Uninstalled and reinstalled several times with same result.
The system image I have was used to install prior versions of NextPVR so I know it is good in case you ask.
Please check it out.
Hi - I recently changed my tuner from a Hauppauge to an HDHomeRun - which works great, I might add. The only problem I am having is that after the switch, the EPG update is not working. It runs, but always ends with no data and the message :"EPG Update complete. [0 inserted, 0 updated, 0 skipped]". Recording works perfectly, but having the EPG guide is a help sometimes. Any help would be appreciated. Attached are my logs. Thank you!
I have a fresh install of NextPVR (v7) on a Windows 11 touchscreen all-in-one PC.
All is working as before, same PC Win10 but don’t know which version of NextPVR.
I have a couple of little niggles I would love to fix.
I want to be able to start NextPVR in a ‘Maximised’ window but not in ‘Full screen’ mode.
I want the Windows Taskbar to remain visible, this was how it worked on Win10.
What do I have to change to make it work like that on this new Win11 install?
The other issue is that on my previous install there was a mini toolbar that would appear for a few seconds that allowed me to change channels up and down etc. when I tapped the screen.
How do I get this back instead of the full width channel banner across the bottom?
Thanks Martin, for all the help getting this release ready!

Hey there guys, I'm having a problem and would just like to get some clarity please.
In my area, there are only 4x OTA channels available. I own 2x HDhomerun Extend, and configured NPVR so every tuner sports one channel each using their IPs and tuner number, which worked perfectly through multiple clients concurrently watching the same channel over the same dedicated tuner. The PC running NPVR was a Razer Blade Stealth 13" (i7-8550U CPU @ 1.80GHz with Intel® UHD Graphics 620 /16GB RAM).
Now I had to move my NPVR server over to a Lenovo M81 (i5-2400 CPU @ 3.10GHz/RAM 8.00 GB/NVIDIA GeForce 605 (969 MB)) and I can't seem to be able to watch the same channel over two clients as I get the error "The tuner is no longer available" - in short, I'm no longer able to use tuner sharing/concurrent tuner access across multiple clients.
Anybody could pinpoint why is that, and say if I had a Nvidia GeForce T600 4GB, will I gain access to tuner sharing back?
