Please help me end this endless cycle. I'll try to explain the problem as best as I can. I've got one PC that is older and runs GBPVR and one that runs MCE 2005 the MCE one is constantly having codec issues. If everything is working in MCE it's not in WMP and vice versa. This makes no sense to me because I thought they both used the same thing pretty much but I'm tired of dealing with it. Currently MCE will play DVD Rips but just refuses to play regular mpegs.
I use NVIDIAs Purevideo for my primary MPEG codec and DVD decoder aside from FFDShow for xvids. There are other codecs on here however and I'm pretty sure the heart of my problem is some things that are conflicting with each other.
WMP plays everything just fine and if I display the graph in graph edit it shows everything the way it should be (regular mpegs being played by Purevideo and xvids being played by ffdshow) however when I go into GBPVR I get a problem. With ripped DVDs (video TS files) I can view the video fine, the purevideo icon comes up in the task bar like it should and the settings show as being right according to Purevideo but I get no audio at all. With regular mpegs I can see the Purevideo icon start to open up but only for a split second and then it closes. GBPVR still plays them but it's fairly obvious just from picture quality alone that it's not using Purevideo. To top everything off about 50% of the time it will play the files but be locked up. I can't exit out of them or stop them with out killing GBPVR. I've attached the logs I think might be pertinent. Please, please any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I realize I probably need to remove some codecs but I don't know how to identify which ones are the culprits and which ones to keep as they don't really show up in my system information with easy to decipher names.
Like the title says. I click it, everything freezes for 10 seconds, and then nothing. If I do it from TV Listings, it will dump me back to the main menu. Which logs do I send?
When viewing a previously recorded show in PVRX2, it works fine for about 10-15mins, then it comes to a halt, the entire PC is hung cause the GBPVR process is taking 99-100% cpu. I'm assuming it's the MVP one... but it's inactive and even parked on the "Video library" screen.
This setup has been working great for me for many months, no changes.
This started happening like a week before I upgraded to the newest version, which I was hoping would fix it, but it's still happening. I also added another 512MB ram (1 GB total), but that didn't help either.
Just upgraded to 1.2.9 and all 4 instances of PVRX2.exe kept starting and crashing with the following message in the application event log:
Code:

The log files did not indicate anything was wrong, so I turned on Debug logging and checked the option for "Enable Log Flushing" and everything worked. I now have logging set to only Error and have verified by switching back and forth 3 times that turning off the option for "Enable Log Flushing" causes this error to occur. Certainly not a show stopper.
For users with the HDHomeRun, there is a new setting that will allow native QAM tuning instead of having to remap channels.
As of the 20080807beta3 HDHR software, you can now select GBPVR as the application in the HDHR Setup.
This will disable the 69 channel/program limit and bypass the ATSC emulation mode allowing you to directly tune the QAM channel thus working like any other QAM tuner.
WARNING:
This will also disable filtering of the program so the entire QAM stream will be sent across the network at the full 38Mbps, thereby increasing the network traffic.
Notes for sub:
I know you have your plate full but if you can add something to the wishlist it would be greatly appreciated. The HDHomeRun BDA driver now supports the IEnumPIDMap API (defined by Microsoft) which will cut down on network traffic.
I'm fumbling through setting up the IR Blaster on my 1600. It works, but it is dropping the first number on the channel changes. The box is a Motorola 6200. If I press 867, I get 67. I assume there is a delay in the time it takes for the box to wake and then respond, but I don't see a setting to wake the box prior to entering numbers. The 6200 is a supported box. Is this a question for Hauppauge?
If I force a recording event to status 5 (conflict) or 6 (failed), before the event is to occur, what would happen?
I actually don't want to destroy the record, just disable it. I would insert a new record for that same time frame, and I want to be sure GB-PVR will record with the new record, but leave the old one alone...
Now, I have no idea if those thing are related, it's probable that something else broke it but after installing 1.2.9 was the first time I tried using it in a couple weeks. There was some problem installing 1.2.9 (it said install failed, wasn't very specific) so I unistalled/reinstalled. I have a Hauppauge HVR-1600, my analog tuner works fine but my digital tuner has stopped picking up any channels whatsoever (either QAM or ATSC). I've uninstalled this program as well as doing numerous uninstalls/reinstalls of the WinTV drivers and software, but it's still broken. I'm running Vista, it's something either with my computer or the driver configuration as it works fine in another computer with XP and the default WinTV drivers/software. Any tips?
