  different settings for different machines
Posted by: agidius - 2008-02-26, 04:42 AM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (1)

I currently use the EWA access to manage recordings (no streaming) from 3 different devices.
-the laptop to set a recording without booting the PVR
-sisters computer to set things while at her house.
-the cel phone while anywhere else.

I notice that if I set it to the "mobile" skin from the phone, it will keep that setting for the phone on later logins, but not affect the other computers.

however, if I set it to have minimal text and links, and a smaller timeline, it will affect anything that logs on.

my question is--
can it be made so the other settings are device specific and remembered like the skin setting??

Is there a method like PlayAudioFile() that will play a stream instead?

  dvd volume for .iso?
Posted by: pBS - 2008-02-26, 02:54 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (3)

i'm trying to fix a bug in imonlcd plugin, when viewing dvd's from a .iso or a dir, it locks up when asking for the volume label from dvd.utilities...works fine for actual dvd discs..

here's the code, is there any way to determine if dvd is a dir or iso?

Code:
if(eventText!="") { //Get the title of the track in the DVD Player Logger.Verbose("iMONVFD: DVD Playback Started Event"); driveLetter = DvdUtilities.DriveWithDVD; Logger.Verbose("iMONVFD: Get DVD Title from " + driveLetter); lineOne = DvdUtilities.VolumeName(driveLetter) + " "; Logger.Verbose("iMONVFD: " + lineOne); lineOneLength = lineOne.Length;

i know you were making some changes in the event area so wanted to let you know about this one..
unless there's a fix i'll have to disable the vol label for dvd stuff for now..
thanx..can't wait for new version..Big Grin

  Gigabyte GA-MA69GM-S2H, XP & HVR-1600
Posted by: Cotys - 2008-02-26, 02:41 AM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

Well I've been running an old HP box for GBPVR. I decided to upgrade to a real screamer (at least the best you can get for the price). I backedup my GBPVR setup and had planned on installing XP and doing an restore for GBPVR.

Setup
GA-MA69GM-S2H
Hauppauge Hvr-1600 MCE
2 GB Ram
AMD 5600+ Dual core (2.8 Mhz)
Antec Fusion Black case
Built in 8.2 sound, HDMI, Radon X12500, BlueRay support, the list goes on

It is a great running set. THE ONLY PROBLEM.... The HVR-1600 does not work with the GA-MA69GM-S2H under XP. I read on other forums that this was a popular setup under Vista. Sure enough, I tried Vista with the exact same setup and it works fine.

So now, I wonder if it will work with GBPVR.

  Ubustream in PVRX2
Posted by: markfarey - 2008-02-26, 02:24 AM - Forum: UbuStream, Web Radio and Universe - Replies (4)

I don't know if this has already been reported but Ubustream seems to work pretty well in GB-PVR but in PVRX2 the audio stutters badly and the text is very jagged and lo-res. It's as if there is zero buffering. I've played with a number of settings to no avail and when I go back to GB-PVR it seems to work fine. Any suggestions please?

Also, can anyone please explain the difference between Preview Play and Timeshift Play? The Timeshift part doesn't seem to work.

Regards to all,
Mark.

sound sync/nova t remote with toshiba regza tv
Posted by: bitman - 2008-02-26, 12:13 AM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

Don't know if anyone has had/resolved this problem. Every time I select a different input on my tv (42Z3030D) it completely screws up the nova t infra red receiver like its getting a set of illegal commands.

I guess its on the same frequency so at the moment I've resorted to a radio mouse (trust htpc mouse) but its no substitute for a remote.

Other problem I have is that when I pause and playback live TV the sound and picture are not in sync (about 1 second).

programmed recordings are fine with good quality no sync problems. Original Nova t software (wintv 2000) pauses and resumes OK. any pointers to relevent fix much appreciated.

Athlon 3200 with 2GB ram overclocked 25% to 4GHz and water cooled. NVidia 6800gt graphic card also overclocked. XP Pro.

Not quite capable of 1080p. watchable but a few dropped frames. Future upgrade to e6700 core2 duo should fix.

any help or advice much appreciated.

  Playing .tp Files in PVRX2
Posted by: LAGuy - 2008-02-26, 12:11 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I searched and found some old threads from '06 on this, so thought I'd start a different one. I have a myHD card that does all my OTA recording and it saves the files using the .tp extension and it can't be changed. Now, I can manually change the extension to .ts and play everything in PVRX2 fine.

Question: Since I cannot change the extension that the myHD card records in, can I configure PVRX2 to recognize the .tp files for playback? Thanks!

  PVR-500 Coax & S-video connection?
Posted by: Rrowan - 2008-02-25, 11:09 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

Hi Folks,

I need to connect a Fios SD STB to a long time working GB-pvr computer with 2 PVR-500 cards. I have been using an analog cable connection until last week when we switched over to Verizon Fios.

PLEASE ignore the HD part. Yes I know that the pvr500 is SD only and that is fine.

Here is a block diagram of what I am trying to do (sorry for the bad design - first time using Visio 2007)

In the config I have the following: (using Schedule Direct EPG)
sd-1 = pvr500 (no fm) internal #1
sd-2 = pvr500 (no fm) internal #2
sd-3 = pvr500 (with FM) internal #3
sd-4 = pvr500 (with FM) internal #4

Now that works and I get about 20 unencrypted channels and MOST of the time the wife is fine with that. The problem comes up with when the wife wants to record something on the encrypted channels.

SD STB = Motorola QIP2500-3

SD STB to PVR 500:
1 - Using S-video and rca jack audio. Do I connect to the S-video port right under the coax connector or the extra bracket ports for the pvr-500?

2 - I have not tried it yet, control the stb with the ir from the blaster or serial cable from the computer?

3 - Do I need to remove sd-4 for the stb to work or will GB-pvr ignore one of the ports?

4 - How do I configure GB-pvr to use the STB?
---a - Do I need to configure Schedule Direct to use all of the channels on digital Fios?
--- b - How is that "capture card" configured? Fios-1 external, channel 3, etc
--- c - Any screen shots of setting up for the STB/S-video would be greatly appreciated.

5 - What is the USB port on the back of the STB for?

6 - What channel does the s-video get? Like can I test it with Live-tv?

7 - I had another question but for the life of me I can't remember it.

Last question:
Am I fighting a losing battle? Should I just get the Fios HD-DVR? I would rather continue using GB-pvr. I hate to buy new hardware (ie: pvr-1600, etc) only to find out later that I could of saved the money and pay the monthly charge (which I really hate) for the Fios dvr.

Many thanks

Rick R.

  new build recording problems
Posted by: aady8077 - 2008-02-25, 10:19 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Hi all

upgraded my pc to a new media style case / main board, been watching live tv ok, apart from a slight stutter which the hotfix for the quartz.dll seems to have fixed. But i tried to do my first recording tonight, from tv guide chose quick record and prog went red, chose to watch a second channel and screen went blank, no response from remote, pressing ctrl, alt, del managed to end task. restarted windows and gbpvr's show status says its still recording, tried clicking stop recording service, but the G in system tray is still green

system is an ASUS pundit P3-AE5, 4200 x2 athlon, 2gig ddr2 ram, nova-t-500 twin tuner

I've attatched all the logs, any ideas?

Thanks Adrian
