I've tried nearly every combination of decoders in the config section and can't get DVD playback to work on PVRX2. I click DVD and the screen freezes. I haev to eject the DVD to get functionality back.

By off-chance, I ran GBPVR and I can watch DVDs. Using the same configurations, I can't run them in PVRX2.

I saw this thread that kind of covered my issue, but it didn't solve it. Any thoughts?

I don't know why it works with GBPVR and not with PVRX2 - but to get it working on my system using PVRX2 I think I had to install PowerDVD.

I don't know why you would have to install PowerDVD for PVRX2 DVD play, unless you were using it just for the decoders.

Try playing a DVD in PVRX2 and then post the logs for sub to take a look at.

Here are my logs.... I noticed that the screen may actually not even freeze sometimes, but just be non-responsive when I press DVD.

Alright, I figured it out. I was using the EVR renderer in PVRX2 which apparently is not compatible with my DVD functions. Under GBPVR, it uses vmr.

I have noticed that EVR is significantly better ( i get less tearing issues during fast motion scenes), but I need to do a little research to figure out how to get EVR with DVD playback.

Final thing I'll say is has anyone figured out a DVD Decoder that works with EVR under XP?

Purevideo works for me using EVR in XP - albeit with some quirks (like pause taking you back to the DVD menu).
