Hi, I am wondering if I have an installation problem or if my graphics card is just so low end that it is not able to handle the VMR9 Custom mode for PVRX2.
It is not that I am CPU power limited, depending on the video decoder that I choose in the GBPVR config utility the cpu usage is around 20-30% when watching recordings from my HVR-1600 (analog cable, medium quality, default, I can post the actual settings if needed.). Everything is smooth with VMR9 on the old GBPVR, but if I choose (VMR9 Custom) then both GBPVR and PVRX3 produce very choppy playback.
Is that expected, what might be a reasonable (as low end as possible) graphics card for VMR9 Custom or even EVR? (Currently PVRX2 says: "Sorry, this system does not support VMR9 video render" if I choose EVR.)
I have no difficulty launching regular gb-pvr, but when I launch pvrx2, nothing comes up. I can see that it has started because it is sitting in my taskbar, but it never displays. It's like its permanently minimized. In order to kill it I have to alt+ctrl+delete and end the process.
Total newbie to GBPVR, but liking what I see so far... I had it working with full UK digital channels but since rebooting the PC, I now get a black screen and no sound when I click on Live TV. The EPG works, if I go into Config / Capture Sources / Edit Recording Sources all the channels are still there and I can see them working if I use the Update EPG option.
I'm using a Peak DVB PCI card and made the change to the bda.ini file I found somewhere else in the forums. Can anyone help give me some tips please?
thanks
Calum
I Can record shows using both cards. When using haupblast.exe, it correctly changes the channel on one of the Satellite receivers.
The problem is changing the channel on the 2nd receiver. It's like haupblast.exe needs a new parameter for {card#}. Right now it's just haupblast.exe {channel}
Suggestions? Also, is there a way to get the source code for haupblast.exe?
I'm trying to use EpisodeTweaker, but I'm getting the following error message when I launch it:
Code:
GetRecordedShowInfo() - EXCEPTION: Data Source cannot be empty. Use :memory: to open an in-memory database
I have GB-PVR 1.1.5 installed in the default directory. I unzipped EpisodeTweaker.exe to the gbpvr directory and WizUiHelper.dll into gbpvr/plugins/common. Any ideas?
EDIT: I also unzipped WizDLLs.zip into gbpvr/plugins/common.
As I haven't tried a chinese autio/english subtitled film for some time I'm not sure what has caused the problem but I no longer get DirectVobSub loaded. When I load the file into GraphEdit there is no problem, and VobSub gets loaded after the Haali splitter has done its job, and puts itself between the CoreAVC (h264) codec and the renderer for VMR9.
this is what appears in the PVRX2 log :-

Any ideas how to get VobSub to load? I recall some threads last year about various codecs, such as Xvid, and codec packs causing problems. But CoreAVC was one that was fine, and I never install codec packs, only the codecs I really need.
Now I have definitely used this same file before way back when still on GBPVR, so it could be the recent change to PVRS2 and VMR9 (though I was using the latter with GBPVR too). Or it could be a recent upgrade to CoreAVC 1.6.
Any help appreciated as I've a bunch of foreign language stuff that I can no longer play. Worst case it to try to rollback to a point before I made any changes...urgh, not sure I have the appropriate backup though.
Edit: Just noticed that my old thread that I posted some time ago when I didn't have subs working was resurrected. http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=2...ostcount=9
It was exactly the same file (I think) I'm struggling with now that was eventually working at that point 3+ mths ago.
I searched a little but was unable to find the answer and it may have been addressed befroe but is there a way to hide the file extensions when viewing the video, music library? Not a huge issue but will eliminate the whats an .avi,.mpg, file ect questions from the wife.
All ITV Channels, C4, E4 (but not E4+1) C4+1, More4 and Cbeebies.
I'm using Happauge WinTv Nova 909 and XP Pro. Any ideas why these particular channels show nothing? I've scanned several times during the day and still nothing.
