  Moving Recordings
Posted by: welshmnky - 2007-10-30, 03:23 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hey, I just built my PVR and am really excited about it, however I just ran into a weird problem and I'm hoping I can find some help. I originally had my recordings going to C:\My Videos but I just got a 160gb hard drive and changed that mapping to D:\DVR and copied all of my recordings to the new hard drive. And now all of a sudden, PVRX2 can't see my recordings! How can I fix this? I was able to get them to play by adding the folder to the "My Videos" secion, but I'd like to be able to see them in Recordings again.
Help!!

  ATI All-In-Wonder x800 GT Query
Posted by: walkerx - 2007-10-30, 02:28 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Just a quick query

does anyone have this card, and if so have they got it working under gbpvr - it's not listed in the supported cards, but I'm guessing it should work.

for £30 i'm thinking off buying this due to the number of different connections you can have from it, not only that it would be useful to have a fall-back card ready if my hauppauge ever gave up on me

whoops just realised hadn't changed to hardware forum to post this - if possible could an admin move it to the correct forum - my appologies

  Sky Channel Sync Tool
Posted by: systemshark - 2007-10-30, 01:57 PM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (2)

Folks,

so those of us who use Sky as a source, I've finally got around (aggravated enough) to writing a tool to sync the channel numbers as you will know sky often move the channel line ups around and don't tell anyone.

This tool will match the channels by name and update the channel numbers. I've provided both a GUI and Slient mode options on the EXE in case you wish to run this regularly.

The Installation can be downloaded from here :-

If enough people are interested I'll add it to the Wiki.

Once Installed, the SkyChannelSync Tool has the following command Line options.

/? - Help Message including activity log file location
/s - slient mode, still writes activity log but no GUI
<nothing> GUI mode- still writes Activity log!

I've started a support thread located here : http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=30827

Questions :
Q) How is this going to work
A) I'm holding a XML channel list on my server which I'll keep in sync with Sky.

Q)What listing source are you using
A)I am using Radio Times via Alan Birtles Reader. I've tested it on that.

  ChangeEPGSources problem
Posted by: mpking - 2007-10-30, 01:13 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (2)

I used the ChangeEPGSources script to fix my EPG.
http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Manual/EPG#toc20

(Comcast moved a bunch of channels around)

I just looked at my scheduled recordings via the web interface....

All of my reoccurring recordings are set to Medium Quality. I'm at work, so I cannot verify this in the GBPVR interface (or my MVP).

While I'm at it, is there a way to set the Quality to be HIGH? It always defaults to Medium on everything.

postprocessing.bat queues up ffmpeg instead of multiple instances?!
Posted by: pvruser - 2007-10-30, 12:57 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

i just reloaded my XP on a new SATA drive this weekend and after being hit by the DST bug and fixing that i realize now that postprocessing.bat does not execute for multiple recordings at the same time anymore, but instead waits for the current one to finish.
i have 2 tuners and used to do pillar removing with ffmpeg for both finished recordings at the same time on my old setup. since the reload it's just doing one at a time. i have a dual core that's used less than 50% when doing a single ffmpeg and it can handle 2 transcodings, 2 recordings and me watching a HD mpeg at the same time without issues.
no changes in gbpvr other than i had to re-install over the old one obviously but all settings have been kept.

any ideas? could not find anything relevant in the forums...
thanks!

  Recording Query
Posted by: walkerx - 2007-10-30, 09:50 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (15)

I've got a couple of queries regarding the recording features on gbpvr

1) When recording a tv channel that is displaying in letterbox mode, it records as standard 4:3 - i have a 4:3 tv at the moment, but some channels are watched in letterbox mode, is it possible for the recording to match what the signal was recieved/watched in

2) Can you watch the same channel you are recording at the same time

3) Can you watch a dvd/video or play music why the system is recording

4) Will the system still record uising the service if gbpvr is not actually running.

thanks

  TV Signal Query
Posted by: walkerx - 2007-10-30, 09:42 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I've downloaded the latest release of gbpvr, and what a vast improvement on earlier versions, well done

But I have an issue where when goto live tv - it displays the signal without problems, but always displays that it can't receive any signal - if change channel it is fine - but this only happens the 1st time i go into the live tv when start gbpvr

is there a way of stopping it from displaying this message or does it automatically time-out

thanks

VOmskip build 111: supports live dvr-ms processing
Posted by: erik - 2007-10-30, 08:45 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (3)

It is now possible to use Comskip for processing while recording dvr-ms files

You must set in your comskip.ini file
live_tv=1
live_tv_retries=120

The large amount of retries is needed because of the very particular way dvr-ms files are written. This will cause comskip to do nothing for 2 minutes at the end of the recording, this is normal behavior, be patient.
Therefore you should only set the large amount of retries when processing dvr-ms recordings

Next to this there have been some small but relevant improvements.
Changes in 0.79.111
- Bug solve: On certain dvr-ms recordings audio decoding fails resulting in a lot of "Audio error" messages.
Changes in 0.79.110
- Added the output file for DVRMS Toolbox, enable with output_dvrmstb=1 in the ini file. A second commandline parameter can be used to specify the directory where the dvrmstb xml file should be written. Setting live_tv=1 will also have this xml file updated during scanning.
Changes in 0.79.109
- Improved the blackframe detection during live_tv processing
