Installing a new setup with EG and need some help.
I have the MCE remote along with it's beanbag installed.
Also the replacement driver.
I've set the remote in gbpvr config to MCE and I've clicked "Fix Hauppauge Remote Settings (45 button remote).
EG window shows the buttons being pressed but gbpvr isn't responding.
I have a Hauppauge 150 with a Hauppauge remote. Unfortunately this remote doesn't do nearly everything i need it to.
Right now I have
--Amplifier remote (used to power amp and control volume)
--Dvd Recorder Remote (used to watch dvd's and switch between Gbpvr and cable)
--Tv Remote (used for power only)
--PVR Remote (used to control the gbpvr)
I would like to find a remote to do control everthing. Is this possible? Any suggestions? The cheaper the better.
I'm also setting up GBPVR on a notebook for our bedroom. I need a remote and receiver for it. Any suggestions?
is there a known issue watching dvr-ms with Nvidia PureVideo? I can watch MPEG, but get blank screen and no sound on dvr-ms. My other decoders can watch the dvr-ms, but i'd prefer to use the purevideo.....
my out of the Box Dell PC has a built in TV tuner card that shows up in the device manager as "M779 PCIe PAL/SECAM/DVB-T" and manufacturer AverMedia.
Funny enough: I didn't found that card on avermedia.com (already sent mail to them asking, what I have then). But it's here and it's capable of analog, DVB-T and DVB-C. I tested that with WindowsMCE. And i guess it has a hardware compressor, because cpu is low while recording.
I followed the steps described in the wiki and managed to use the analog part with GBPVR (Direct Recording Plugin) . But I did not succed with the digital part, config.exe-native.log states tuning errors and beeing unable to start the BDA graph.
So my questions are:
Anyone knows the M779?
Is it actually possible two use the two tuners at the card at the same time?
Do I have to remove the "Direct Recording Plugin" configuration before starting to configure the digital part?
Windows MCE lives - as part of Vista Home Premium - on the box with no planned recordings. Does it interfere, do I have to disable it in some way?
Hi there, I got so excited when I found out about the GameZone plugin. I was hoping someone would write something like it. Now then, my problem is that when I try and launch a game it just drops me back to the main pvrx2 screen and I get the following in my log. Does anyone have any experience with the following error?

First off I LOVE the web scheduling feature, thanks Sub! Probably the coolest thing about it is, my brother in Korea can log into my machine, and download his favorite shows that I've recorded (and re-compressed) for him. Sooo great!
Anyway, the way I have been doing that so far is to use the web scheduler, and use port forwarding on my Netgear router through my cable internet. The cable modem has always given me the same IP so the connection is consistent. Works great.
Now, I just got this Airlink router, and suddenly I am getting a different IP, and upon login can't connect . No problem right, I just enable port forwarding again, and use that new IP as my web scheduling login, same syntax, just a different IP address (http://ipaddr:7647/gbpvr/login.aspx). However now, I get this error message:
Server Error in '/gbpvr' Application.
HTTP Error 400 - Bad Request.
Version Information: Cassini Web Server 1.0.2782.16257
Any ideas on what might need fixing? I'm perplexed as the only thing that's changed is the router/IP address, but GBPVR is reporting a problem....? Is this router just junk?
This has probably been answered before but I can't get Search to work on the forums at the moment.
Firstly, thanks in advance, and also thanks to Sub for a damn fine piece of software - I can't remember when we last used our DVD player or hard drive recorder, which is a testament to how good this all actually is.
Now for the question.
I'm after some recommendations for the best budget (cheap), silent (fanless) video card for my home theatre PC. I don't use it for games, only for GBPVR watching AVIs, MPEGs and DVDs. We watch a lot of movies and record quite a few TV shows that get transcoded to AVI.
I currently have the following, (mostly secondhand, and built on a shoestring budget):
- ASUS K8VSE Deluxe mainboard with AMD-64 XP2800 1.8GHz processor,
- 1GHz DDR400 RAM
- 160GB IDE drive and 350GB SATAII drive, and 16x DVDR/W drive
- Hauppauge PVR150MCE TV tuner (analog antenna TV only)
- Inno3D GEforce FX-5500 video card, driving dual-display to a CRT TV through S-video-to-composite, and a Panasonic PT-AX100E 1080p projector on a 100" widescreen via DVI-to-HDMI (really nice low-price projector incidentally - lives up to all its reviews, highly recommennded!)
I'm using NVidia Purevide decoder for MPEG and DVD (also for DVD audio), FFDShow for AVI, and AC3Filter for audio on MPEG and AVI. All running on XP SP2.
This combination seems to be reasonably stable under PVRX2 (running ABOVENORMAL and in -FSE mode) apart from some slight video jitter on fast-moving scenes, and a bit of tearing about 2/3 down the screen on MPEG and AVI decoding. Also, watching live TV with Interlacing set as Encoder Passthorugh, the audio gradually desyncs and leads the video by more than a second after several minutes of viewing.
If not in -FSE mode, the jitter / tearing is much more noticeable, to the extent of being annoying. All more noticeable on the projector than the TV of course. CPU runs at up to 50% in non-FSE, and between 40% and 100% in FSE mode. On some oddly-mastered intractive DVDs (e.g. Digital Video Essentials) chapter skipping or menu navigation can cause it all to freeze completely at 100% CPU, requiring a hard reboot.
I'm thinking the video card may just not be up to the job but family budget doesn't allow me to experiment too much (i.e to upgrade and then find it was the CPU after all!). So I'm wondering if anyone has had similar experiences, and can recommend a really good but not too expensive, silent (important as this is a very low-noise living-room box) AGP video card that would work better than the FX5600. Also opinions whether NVIDIA is generally better than ATI/Radeon or vice versa, for home theatre.
Or any other performance tips - I've read the forums and tried all the usual (various decoder combinations, QUARTZ.dll, latest drivers, tweaks etc.) and I do know a bit about PCs - it's all as good as I can get it with the current hardware.
I am trying to rescale XGuide to suit a 1280 x 720 screen res.
Have made good progress so far but cant seem to move the bottom right-hand corner of the guide towards the right (it seems stuck near 700 pixels across).
I've been noticing that the remote for the MVP will ocasionally stop working. Or more correct, the MVP stops responding to button presses. Is there a log on the MVP that might be useful? If I telnet to the MVP, are there logs there too? Wondering if anyone else has seen this issue.
I'll try and grab the logs off gbpvr nec time it happens.
Thanks,
Greg
BTW, the loading bars under the mvpmc.org logo are a nice touch.
