  Multiple Instances of NextPVR
Posted by: JaxMedia - 2025-02-18, 09:40 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (1)

Hi there,

I want to be able to achieve using two lots of IPTV playlists. One is AU, the other is UK. Both are region locked so using a VPN it would be possible to do a split tunnel where one instance is connected to AU and the other is connected to UK. I am wondering if its possible to do this by running multiple instances and if so how?

  Channels not displaying in client(s)
Posted by: Druhl - 2025-02-17, 04:41 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (1)

Hi all.

Running latest NextPVR on Windows.

Have previously (month or two ago) successfully imported M3U and used NextPVR client from Kodi, no problem - EPG and channels, recording, all working.

Past few days, after fresh install of NextPVR, I have the following problem:

I successfully imported multiple different M3Us to IPTV device. Always a success. Always see list of channels after import, click Save, no errors.

Go to "Channels" in Settings, channels are there.

Go to "Channels" in admin client, or in webui client, or in Kodi client, channels are empty.

Have been beating my head against this for 2 days.

In logs saw some "unable to update / db locked" errors, so removed all IPTV devices, stopped service, deleted DB3 file, restarted Windows, tried again. No more "db locked" error, but still don't see channels in clients.

I should add - these are M3Us from different sources, that are able to work through VLC.

Help please!

EPG mis-identifying shows with same title
Posted by: mattman1968 - 2025-02-17, 01:53 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (3)

I've been using NPVR for a long time now. One thing I've always noticed is when a new show has the same title as a previous show, NPVR always identifies it as the
old show. In this example, the show is Doc, new in 2025. However, in 2001, Billy Ray Cyrus was on a show called Doc as well. NPVR identifies the new Doc as the old one from 2001. However, Jellyfin correctly identifies the new Doc as from 2025. Both NPVR and Jellyfin are reading from the same XMLTV file.

Any thoughts?

Overruling IP adress by discovered host
Posted by: Amarem - 2025-02-17, 10:09 AM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (2)

The plugin always shows a "discovered host" which does not work at all (failed to start plugin and then even crashes Kodi 12.2). It's overruling the entered IP adress which is workin in the original NextPVR ap. In that manner (fresh Kodi installation! on a Nvidia Shield 2015) the plugin is entirely useless.

  Unable to login web interface
Posted by: JohnySmith1010 - 2025-02-15, 04:42 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (8)

Hello,

I am on the current version of nextpvr on windows 10.  I haven't touched the system in a while since nextpvr in kodi, connects perfectly fine to the backend.  Everything works.  What I just realized is that I can no longer log into the web either on localhost or remotely via ip:8866.  My username and password are stored in the browser, but every time I click on login, it doesn't log me in and username and password in the web form disappear.  I primarily use firefox, but for giggles I tried chrome & then edge and they both do the same thing.  I have stopped and restarted the nextpvr service and lastly rebooted my machine.

Lastly, I tried on my mobile phone using brave browser (never logged in with the phone ever before) and it exhibits the same behaviour as the desktop browser.  Is there anything I can try?

EPG not found for some channels via DVB-T2 (version 7)
Posted by: Kotoka - 2025-02-15, 03:32 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (84)

Hi All,

with the switch from version 6 to version 7 of NextPVR a problem very similar to https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=64117 has returned.

For some of my DVB-T2 channels NextPVR fails to obtain EPG information via DVB-T2. The EPG information for those particular channels is completely missing.

I know for a fact, that much more EPG information is available for those particular channels - my TV and my Blu-ray DVB-T2 Recorder are able to obtain the respective EPG information via DVB-T2 (they are not connected to the internet, so they cannot obtain this information from other sources). I can also exclude that fact, that something is off with the USB-TV tuner, that is directly connected to my NextPVR machine.

So, I know for a fact, that there is EPG information that is transmitted via DVB-T2, that NextPVR does not pick up. This has not happened with version 6, so something must have changed in version 7, that triggered this issue. Maybe you can help me? I attach the respective log files.

Further information:
Operating System: Windows 10
NextPVR version: 7.0.1.241229
TV Tuner: Hauppauge WinTV-soloHD DVB-T/DVB-T2
Region: Italy

At least the following channels appear affected (those are the ones I checked, there may be more):

1) RAS Das Erste HD (Freq: 474000 SID: 22 (H.264)): should have at least 24 hours of EPG (probably more according to my other devices), but NextPVR only reports "(no listings)"
2) RAS ORF1 HD (Freq: 474000 SID: 20 (H.264)): should have at least 24 hours of EPG (probably more), but NextPVR only reports "(no listings)"
3) RAS ORF III HD (Freq: 474000 SID: 23 (H.264)):  should have at least 24 hours of EPG (probably more), but NextPVR only reports "(no listings)"
4) RAS SRF zwei HD (Freq: 578000 SID: 32 (H.264)):  should have at least 24 hours of EPG (probably more), but NextPVR only reports "(no listings)"
5) RAS Kika HD (Freq: 578000 SID: 35 (H.264)): should have at least 24 hours of EPG (probably more), but NextPVR only reports "(no listings)"

I have also recorded a 1 min stream with TS capture like last time for Freq: 474000, SID: 20. The file can be found here:

  Not recording new episo
Posted by: qttor - 2025-02-15, 03:10 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (7)

I have the latest NPVR installed. I get the EPG info from Schedules Direct daily. Recording has worked fine for a very long time. However a single show now refuses to schedule new episodes. I tried deleting the EPG and then downloading it again, but new episodes still don't show as being scheduled to record. I think I found the reason, but I don't know how to fix the issue.

When I look at an new, unrecorded episode in the EPG, I see that its "Originally Aired" date is stated to be prior to this episode's date (so this episode is no longer "new" and should not be recorded - I get that). But the problem is that when I look for the show episode on the stated Originally Aired date, the EPG does not show any episode occurring on that date at any time.

I don't understand how the Originally Aired date is not synchronized with the episodes that actually exist in the EPG. It is only happening for this one show (Nova on Public Television). All other recordings seem to be working fine.

I hope someone can explain what I need to do to somehow get the Originally Aired date corrected to agree with the EPG listings.

  Recording
Posted by: ken_dearden - 2025-02-14, 03:15 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (8)

I use a Hauppauge WinTV HVR 1900 for recording terrestrial Freeview TV in the UK North West (transmitter Winter Hill).

I use NextPVR rather than Hauppauge WinTV8 since it has more and better facilities. The PC is a Dell XPS17 running Windows 11. Until recently, it has worked perfectly. A week or so ago, Next PVR recordings started to have a lot of green lines and shapes on most frames. Yesterday, I removed NextPVR and reinstalled the latest version. (As an aside I found it impossible to auto-map the channels to use Schedules Direct because it did not have the facility to match channels purely on channel number.) I tried another recording today (14th Feb 2025) and it had the same problem.

Recordings are saved using the default location.

Live TV works fine, with no interference. WinTV8 recordings also work properly, so I am reverting to that. I have to sue that anyway to record from my audio cassette player or my VHS player, using the AV interface on the WinTV HVR 1900 since WinTV cannot detect that input channel.

If anyone has a solution to this problem, I would appreciate knowing how to resolve it.

I must stress there is no problem with signal quality, no problem with the Hauppauge hardware or software and no problem with the PC as far as I, a retired IT and telecommunications consultant, can determine.

IPTV EGP not loading automatically, only manually
Posted by: gaburko - 2025-02-14, 10:15 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (3)

Hi all,
I am pretty sure I'm doing a stupid mistake somewhere.
The situation: I have NextPVR installed on my win11 homeserver which "feeds" a Kodi client in the living room. I have two sources, our local DVB-C provider and an IPTV source. The DVB-C works well fully automatic (downloads the EPG on its own, feeds to Kodi, works like a charm). The IPTV works for the TV Signal very well.
The problem: The IPTV source though, doesn't work automatically for EPG. It works only if I do manually Channels -> Advanced Tools  -> AutoMap. From there I have to pick up the EPG source and then select Channel Names as Map Strategy. I have to do this every day, otherwise there's no EPG.

I attach my log files if this helps.

Thank you!
