Proxmox LXC (Helper Script) - daily EPG update not working
Posted by: mrhat - 2025-10-08, 02:59 AM - Forum: Linux - Replies (5)

Hi all! I have used this installer

https://community-scripts.github.io/Prox...id=nextpvr

Everything in general seems to be working fine. However the next day the guide is empty. If i manually update the EPG via the website -> just fine and guide is refreshed with data.

I have the scheduled update set to 03:00 but i'm guessing its failing.

I have the logs attached if they contain any clues.

Thank you for all those who read and suggest a fix!

  Manual recordings
Posted by: Joram - 2025-10-07, 11:05 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (7)

Still learning my way around the NextPVR interface. Tonight I faced the following situation, first time while using NPVR:

I've been recording the Major League Baseball playoffs. First pitch in the Detroit Tigers - Seattle Mariners game was slated for 4PM (4:08) EST on FS1, but rain delayed the start of the game for so long that they eventually switched the broadcast to FS2 and the MLB Network, lest the showing of that game run into the scheduled 8PM start for the Blue Jays - Yankees contest. Last I heard, they were hoping for about a 7:30 start time for the Tigers.

So all of a sudden, today's recording schedule was shredded. In previous years, when rain has affected TV air times, in Windows Media Center I've gone into the list of recorded programs, clicked on "add recording," then manually entered the (new) channel for the desired game, with its expected new start time and a manually input program title.

I haven't found the way to do this in NPVR. How would one go about doing it?

Another way that I've handled it in the past has been to go to the first show on the EPG that falls within the rescheduled game's start time, then extended the recording of that program (with its original, unrelated title) for as long as necessary to (hopefully) capture the whole game, 3+ hours. I believe the same thing can also be done in NPVR, but I'm hoping there's a way to do it the way I described above.

Thanks very much.

  Comskip for the web client
Posted by: SickBoy - 2025-10-07, 08:19 PM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (4)

Apologies in advance, I'm sure this is somewhere but I am not seeing it on the wiki or through cursory searches -

how does one set up the web client for comskip playback support? is there a certain file format or a checkbox somewhere that I am missing?

thanks!

Any chance to find a V6 deb-file? V7 EPG is painful
Posted by: joe_d1 - 2025-10-07, 08:18 PM - Forum: Linux - Replies (8)

I live in Germany and am connected to DVB-C. Unfortunately I had to re-install my OMV-server and with that to install NextPVR 7 instead of 6, which worked 100% error free - especially the EPG was superb and the integration with Emby was just brilliant.

V7 finds my DVB-C devices and all channels - but it manages to create a TV Guide only for the first 3 channels - the rest remains empty.
So, you might understand why I would love to be able to install a V6.
By when do you think the EPG issue will be solved?

Thanks in advance,
Joern

So, I was trying to record a program when all of a sudden it says "Failed: Recording Interrupted" after a few seconds and it has been doing this a lot recently. Can anyone help me understand how to fix this?

  Aspect ratio
Posted by: FCProF - 2025-10-07, 01:23 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (1)

Hello.  I would like the Live TV to play in its default aspect ratio. It stretches all the 4:3 shows to fill the 16:9 screen. I want it to stretch in “pillar box” mode to keep the image from being distorted. How do I do that?

I can play m3u8 just fine in vlc and they used to play in nextpvr. Now they just crash after so many seconds.  It seems to read segment001 and not pass off to segment002 , and it will loop on the tv nextpvr client ui.  For this recording I manually used ffmpeg and it worked.

  Streaming Failed (transcoder exited)
Posted by: Pav4o - 2025-10-03, 01:23 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (7)

Hi all, new to this, I got my Hauppauge WinTV-SoloHD model 01589 Freeview HD tuner for PC with the idea to get some local tv on my jellyfin server.
In order to do it, I got to the point of using nextPVR, however after installing and scanning all the channels I got the error in the subject.
The channels are working on the WinTV software without issues.

Could you help please, I've gone through similar threads but couldn't solve my issue

No LiveTV or Recording on one channel only
Posted by: cher - 2025-10-03, 12:19 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (2)

I use Schedules Direct for my EPG. All of my recordings on NBC, CBS, ABC, and PBS are great. But, I cannot record FOX or watch live Fox TV through the PVR interface. Recordings show a black screen. I updated and rescanned the SiliconDust HD Homerun tuner, then rescanned the channels in the PVR config. I found a 2nd Fox entry with the same channel #31.1, but it's pulling data from DVB/ATSC EPG instead of Schedules Direct. This alternate Fox listing displays (no show details) in every half-hour increment in my EPG, and I can click on the empty EPG slot and watch the program live. The live show playing in the (no show details) time slot is the same as the one listed in the Schedules Direct show in the old Fox listing.  More info - Schedules Direct has Fox at Freq 28 and SID 3 (no recording or live – just a black screen). The DVB/ATSC Fox channel is at Freq 21 and SID 7 (can watch live, but doesn’t populate the EPG, so no recording).  I suspect it has something to do with my Fox station broadcasting in ATSC 3.0 and possibly attaching DRM. Is there an (easy) way to set up my EPG so I can keep Schedules Direct for everything else, but record the alternate Fox listing from DVB/ATSC?

If not, is there another solution for recording Fox?

Log files attached - several Fox test recordings in the logs.

Thx!

EPG Problems - 7.0.3.250920 and IPTVboss
Posted by: Druhl - 2025-10-02, 04:50 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (6)

I use IPTVboss to modify my m3u and xml guide layout, uploading to a static filename in dropbox, and pointing to that in NPVR. It has generally worked very well. EPG updates work fine.

Channel or group moves & changes, though they do upload to the dropbox, don't automatically reflect in NPVR, so my method has been to wait for device to be idle, delete and recreate it. That does the job.

Updated to 7.0.3.250920 a few days ago, seemed to go fine and everything continued working.

However, later doing a delete-and-recreate of IPTV device, it failed to update EPG ([0 inserted, 0 updated, 0 skipped]). This failure was for initial EPG update upon device creation, or manual clicking of "Update EPG" in config, or for scheduled EPG update. I redid steps a few times with no success.

I restored from a local backup the contents of C:\Users\Public\NPVR-data and the EPG updates resumed working. However today I again attempted the device delete-and-recreate and EPG updates began failing again.

I suspect my backup restore didn't completely cleanly roll back to previous version, which may be what i need.

Or does someone have a different recommendation?

Logs attached.

Thanks
