When I setup the HVR1600, I have selected two inputs on the capture menu, one for the analog side and one for the digital side.
On both setup screens, I have selected Zap2It for the EPG. Because the signals are coming from the same source (the cable co), I have selected two program guides in the Zap2It config, one for analog and one for digital.
When I try to use the EPG on the GBPVR, many of the stations show something like "No data available" for most of the channels.
Is there some confusion merging the two guides? Should I just use the digital guide? I think that the channel numbers in the two guides are not exactly the same. Will this cause gbpvr to not be able to match the analog channels with the channels in the guide?
How are you all using the guide function when you have multiple capture devices?
I finally received my HVR1600 and have had an interesting time setting it up.
In GBPVR config, I stumbled across the way to enable the digital side of the HVR1600 (BDA Recording, or something like that). I told it to scan for digital channels (QAM modulated on the cable co's signal). It found approx 1000 channels. Most of these channels are unviewable. Another huge portion was music channels. And about 10-15 appeared to be local channels, ABC family, Disney and some version of a Discovery channel. I am assuming at this time that any channel identified as QAM is a digital channel. I don't know how to identify which of these is HD.
I think that I understand that the MVP will not be any help with the HD channels. That is fine. I am wondering, however, if the "other" channels are viewable from the MVP.
When I attempt to tune a channel via the MVP, I get a message on the screen with a clickable button that says "Don't Watch TV". Pressing this button takes me back to the menu.
Should this work at all?
Is there something that I am missing on how to setup my system?
Open the Zprocess2.zip and copy the two files in THIS zip to the ZProcess folder⦠OK
C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\Third Party\ZTools
Run ZProcess2.exe. It will ask to register itself into GB-PVR. Click Yes, and this time let it restart the GB-PVR recording service. OK, DONE
Click âZProcess Settingsâ NG (DOESN'T EXIST?)
At the third step I don't get Zprocess Settings, I get the GB-PVR Settings cofig.xml Tab
k.
btw the WIKI refs pointing to ZProcess take you back to ZProcess2
Hi all, I'm new to the forum, but not to using GB-PVR.
Currently I use a Hauppauge 250 and a MediaMVP for watching tv and recordings.
Our tv was recently upgraded to a nice HDTV set, and now I'm wanting to take advantage of that. We are also in the process of moving into a new house that has FIOS, so I'll have more HD signals coming into the tv. I'm wanting to make sure my thoughts are in the right order.
1) I need to upgrade to the latest 1.0.8 of the software
2) Upgrade tuner to a HVR-1600
Now, here's the tricky part. The computer will be in the office, and the tv is in the living room.
I have a laptop that has digital audio out, but it only has a vga output. I'm hoping to find a way of getting the vga on the laptop onto the tv. If I can't find a way of getting the vga to a DVI or HDMI, then I may build a media pc.
How successful have people been at streaming HD quality over a network to a tv in another room? Chances are I'll only be watching recorded shows through the media pc and not live tv too.
Am I missing something?
The media MVP will be relegated to either the master bedroom, or the "workout" room (a spare room we don't know what to do with) for analog duty.
Hi, I'm trying to install GB-PVR for the first time on a couple of PCs, but both times I've had an error about PsiParser.ax during the installation process, and the app doesn't work as a result.
What am I missing? Do I need something else installed first? I checked the Wiki, but didn't find anything.
Hooookay...
Just wanted to post that I installed McAfee today--I just now got it removed from my machine. It locked me up like crazy; has anyone else had this happen with McAfee?
[Seriously--6 seconds after boot up, my computer froze.]

I'm currently looking at how to set up home servers, primarily as a file server and print server. And I realise some people are also interested in such setups as well.
Servers as what most people know are like for enterprise and the cost of such setups are not feasible for home uses. However, home servers do not need to be expensive and high end hardwares.
So this thread is meant for those who want to set up home servers and have spare components which they can use to set up a home server enough for their use. It also meant for people who wants to use power efficient processors usually used for laptops which will help to reduce the power consumption.
Hope this will be useful for many people.
PS: Those who are well-versed on such stuffs are welcomed to contribute to this thread. After which i'll update the first few posts i've reserved below to be updated. Thanks
I have just upgraded my machine to Vista and cannot make the new exe work for live TV.
I have 2 tuners, a Hauppauge Nova-T-USB2 and a Hauppauge PVR 250.
I have been investigating, have reinstalled (various times) installed the VC Runtime stuff (various times...) and still cannot fix the problem.
I have tried different combinations of playback settings (video & audio codec) and the best results (as below) are using the Intervideo codecs and Default Wave renderer.
When I run with the new app and try to view LiveTV from the program guide on the nova, the screen goes blank, then flashes back to guide, then blank. It stays blank until I move the mouse, then redisplays the guide.
Looking in the logs I see that it recieved a Divide by Zero exception...
Trying to do the same with the Analogue card just displays a blank screen with the OSD on top but no video (I think the sound works, but I cannot remember at the moment)...
I then started playing with the old app:
Scenario 1: VMR9 Custom
On the digital tuner, when I try to watch from the guide, it comes up with a dialog box saying divide by zero...
On the analogue tuner, it works the first time, but then hangs with a blank screen if I escape and try to watch another channel or the same one again. I have to kill the app.
Scenario 2: VMR9
It all works as it should... Displays video on both the analogue and digital channels...
Could it be that NVidia have changed the drivers for Vista and now the Custom work around is not needed or indeed is breaking things?
Can anyone else confirm these findings?
I have the following system:
Asus A7N8X Deluxe MB (NForce 2),
Nvidia 6600GT 128mb AGP Graphics card
AMD Sempron 3000+ (2000Mhz)
1GB RAM
Vista Ultimate 32bit
Also, on my XP partition, all works fine on the VMR9 Custom setting.
